@@ImperialCityNord nice pun!
Got the new Seastar 1000 GMT. True gmt, heavydrive quartz and 40mm. LOVE it 👍
I’d like to see Tissot make this in black carbon fiber and take on the Breitling Endurance pro.
My Citizen Promaster Diver in Titanium with Eco Drive cost me under 400 canadian pesos and I like it a lot
FAR better value than this “Swiss” crap.
@@e28forever30citizen titanium series is greatest watch bargain in entire watch market in recent times. No decent titanium watches in thrice the budget forget grade 5 titanium.
Agreed !
That is not a chronograph.
@@e28forever30Funny man.
I'm not turned off by quartz as much as the Chrono hand ticks 1 per second. But even that, I'm ok with because it nails all the markers and it doesn't bounce. My Hamilton quartz flieger can't hit any markers and every tick has a bounce. It's awful...
The Seastar collection is big. With Quartz and Powermatic 80 (automatic), different sizes, with and without chronograph. There is Seastar 1000 and Seastar 2000 series. There is even a Seastar 1000 GMT quartz. The Powermatic 80 movement is used and modified by,Tissot, Certina and lot of other brands. If anti-magnetism is important, look for Powermatic 80 with Nivachron. Powermatic 80 is an edition of ETA 2824-2 where the power reserved is increased to between 72 and 80 hours, depending on the watch brand.
I have this same model with a blue/black dial and black rubber strap. It is a little large but, I have a 7.5 inch wrist and it wears very well. The date complication is my only gripe and would happily have done without it but, still great value.
Outstanding video.I have to go with the MAMACOO, especially with that green dial as my favorite
Well said, well presented. The watch is awesome, i think i'm going to buy it. The shape is cool, sapphire glas, i don't mind quartz movement, the battery will hold for 3 years (from the practice of other watches). However, wish you a nice watch time!
I bought a king turtle (green grenade) in a jewellers last year for less than this and that has an automatic movement. They were on sale at the time. There are a number of citizen dive watches both eco drive and automatic well below the price of this. I do like it though and bought a similar looking Festina chronograph earlier this year for less than £100 direct from festina in Spain.
Hi i want to change my seastar band so which one will be perfect fit for this model from tissot straps displayed on their websites
One advantage of a quartz chrono is the 1/5th s or 1/10th s subdial. If you're timing sporting events that might matter. Honestly 4 hz mech movements could put a 1/4s, which would be okay too. Would like a tach; not important on a diver but on a chrono they do see some use.
Great piece, and I like circular date windows. Unfortunately the lug to lug kills this for me.
Swatch Group is killing it, mostly Hamilton, Tissot, Longines, and Omega of course.
Do you say stuff just to say stuff?
@@amazingsavvy2730no but seems like you do.
It would be cool if Jory did a comparison of going up these levels of Dive Watch starting with;
Hamilton Khaki Navi Scuba
Tissot Seastar 1000 Powermatic 80
Longines Hydroconquest
Omega Seamaster
Bonus: Glasshutte Original SeaQ
@@SamrayGTR
No dive watch list without Seiko, Citizen or Oriënt…
I bought the Batman version , I agree 100 %, Great Swiss watch for about 500. Cant beat that.. love the orange, buddy !!!
I have this exact model with black accents. The only downside is that the hands vibrate when you are twisting the bezel. Most disconcerting.
Like Tissot and I want to get a good sport watch from them...but yeah, I come across with huge watches for my wrist. I'd love to see smaller divers/racing chronos
I collect black watches and I like orange on my person (high vis for snorkeling/swimming) and wow what a looker. I am even OK spending thousands for a quartz (Sinn Hydro's). Would love to see some reviews or comments on lume and underwater visibility.
I fell in love with the Seastar 1000 last year and got the variant with a stainless bracelet and the shimmering green dial which reminds me of the ocean. I absolutely love it. I actually don't care if its a quartz movement.
I owned an older version of this model and am glad to see it is slimmer than the later model. Because after wearing it the lugs tend to rub hard onto my skin and was uncomfortable at the end of the day due it being top heavy.
I was a Tissot fanboy along with many other Swatchgroup brands. But after they did what they did with ETA and discovering the Powermatics are basically disposable, I stopped. But when I do see the Seastar 1000 and 2000s? Very tempting.
i feel quartz are best . 😊
How many watches do you have? Love to see a collection update video one day.
Sekio has a strong following, and people aren't going to just walk away and are well loved ❤️ 😊
Yeah, this guy doesn't get it. Most people that buy watches, don't do so for their intended purposes. For example, Rolex Daytona buyers don't even have a race car. In the same way, the vast majority that buy Diver watches are not using them to dive. The Seiko Esstentials is only $200 is rated for 100 meters. That's well past what 99% of watch wearers will ever need.
I can only imagine it has the same movement as the moonswatch with date complication.
My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from MAMACOO
Being a chrono diver means that you can put a leather or rally strap and use it very casually, not being tied up to rubber, making it very versatile … 45 and 50 lug to lug it’s kind of big for me but otherwise how can you read the spheres
The Tissot v8 chrono is amazing.
I picked one up for $100 on ebay.
Threw the bracelet in the bin and got a nice sail cloth 👌
I have this watch in this colour way, as a fun sunny watch. Comes in more chill colour ways. But generally its a good watch, fun, reliable and not too expensive
I might be interested if it was a Precidrive. It looks great, though.
I love this one! I have. Seattar 2000 Powermatic 80 in black. The tough decision for me would be match the black or go with the orange?! I have a thing for orange watches. Orange Monster and Planet Ocean will likely stay in my collection forever! This onw is definitely tempting!❤️
I think they used to be quite boring but Tissot has been making desirable watches for a few years now. I think they've had a surge in the last few years. I now have two great Tissots, one mechanical and one quartz. Both Visodate Heritage but very different from each other.
Sister brand Certina do a great diver's 300m auto for about 500 usd. And they are nice looking to boot.
Are we comparing a quartz Tissot with an Automatic Seiko? Maybe a better comparison is the Tissot Seastar 1000 with the Prospex Speedtimer, and in that instance, the Tissot comes off a poor second.
Bought the regular seastar diver automatic brand new for 500 a few years ago. Great deal.
It reminds me of the older Bulova lunar pilot with quartz, 45mm, and weird date location
I have the reverse panda version of this one. It is an amazing watch. I would buy the big orange arm of the chronograph with the silicone strap.
I go with the Germans anyway. Just got a Sinn EZM 3F.... honestly.. more people need to know how good these are
I got one for £230 I love it feels great on. I forgot had it on and looks better in person ❤
Dont forget Certina
*Casio Multi Band 6 Tough Solar guy here. Thanks for not being a watch snob partna. 👊🏾*
That's my go to watch when I go to the bahamas and I know i'm gonna be in the ocean a lot
buy a good gshock you will be sorry
@@theyhateme8763are you suggesting this watch won’t survive the water?
@@MayDayDevinci im suggesting gshock is the best watch for everything they make one for everything
Thanks for the review. Better than the Powermatic80 with plastic parts:)
Tissot vs longines?
I get a lot of praise for wearing this watch🎉😊
Apparently a big ugly orange quartz watch is "sophisticated" and is "Killing Seiko" 🤣
These Seastars are butt ugly.
Unbalanced design, tiny markers, meh movement and poor lume.
My dad let me get that 7up shirt when I was like 12 and my mom was so mad 😂
my only gripe with Tissot is they don't make watches in the 36-38 mm range (yes, i have tiny wrists)
They do. Just ordered a 36mm Seastar 1000 from Jomashop.
A legit Swiss automatic diver: Hamilton Khaki Nave Scuba Auto 300m. 43mm, 300m, no date, ceramic bezel, actually decent lume for a Hamilton. The watch looks and wears like a Tudor Pelagos. $740ish grey market.
Stienhart is what I’d choose…..their 39mm divers are awesome.
There is no chance in hell I will buy any Tissot over a prospex model
Me too.
Seiko at least incorporates Solar in their quartz divers.
👍👍
That is one big watch 😮
I moved on from Seiko to Tissot XL's about a year ago, I like the larger size, fit and style of them.
Date window is perfectly fine. This is a better piece than Seiko. No question. I am wearing mine with the green dial. Accuracy is unbelievable. It gains less than 3 seconds per month. Nothing out ther can beat this even at $1,000. I have looked believe me.
Quartz = Not a bad thing at all.
If it isn't a luxury watch is there really a point. When I was military and in LE a wrist watch was a necessity and one or two g shocks is all one in those fields needs. So you reward yourself and buy that Rolex, Omega or Breitling what else do you need? So you buy a skx and it takes away time from wearing the Submariner you worked hard to get.
You get bit by the watch bug and you've got ten automatics that will need service in 10 years at a minimum of 300 each is three grand plus.
It all gets to be a little bit much.
I have a 20 year old Tissot PRC 200 quartz chrono, one of my first watches and one that I still regularly wear. Can't go wrong with a Tissot, and quartz makes sense for a chrono.
if it's quartz , is anything a complication ? Great vid !
Of course it's beautiful.💯👍
Tissot recently released some quartz GMT models of the 40mm Seastar. Including a bicolor rootbeer for about 600$ new. Looks very nice actually
300m hockey puck...
Threaded pushers? That's pretty nice... Tempted.
For under $500, not much to complain about. Good looking watch
The issue with Seiko is that their high-end watches are readily associated with or can look like the cheap
ones
Most likely a swatch movement inside that Tissot that is not reperable
Hey, just so happens.I have one
.
Seastar
It's nice and good for the price as a Swiss brand but not good value for a watch in general and NO! It ain't killing Seiko anytime soon
Swiss made = 60% Swiss by law, rest can be made in China or elsewhere 😉
Exactly.
Swiss made means nothing to me.
Dude! I had that shirt👍
Trusting you , I went down to the store with high expectations for tissot and boy I was so disappointed by the cheap look and the extremely cheap build quality of it . I would take a seiko or even an orient over it any day!
Awesome watch! If only I could afford it!
For the price of a Swiss Tissot automatic, I'd rather buy gold bracelets that will appreciate over time,
The only interesting proposition is “Swiss”, although it is not entirely true, nor is it better than Seiko in this case. Movement and reliability on Seiko prospex, and even Seiko’s street price and resale is better. Etc.
Is it just me but is the sound and your visual is a bit out of sync?
Nothing special to be honest, I see it as a watch that I would get bored with it very fast. I would choose a seiko baby tuna save the ocean at the same price over this one with no looking back.
Seiko has pushed their prices near Tissot, Mido, Tag etc and seiko is out done by microbrands for less.
Speak for yourself. If you like Tissot and Swiss bling good for you. I prefer Seiko on anything and like me there are millions , so Tissot or any other brand will never kill Seiko.
Watch UA-camrs just use the word Seiko / Rolex in their videos for the algorithm and click bait. I agree with you, Tissots feel very cheap compared to a Seiko and the designs are super boring. But even more importantly I wore my King Seiko SJE087 to the Oris / LONGINES boutique the other day. Tried on many watches around the same price point, again they just didn’t have the finishing that my Seiko has. One thing I’ve learnt is you get what you pay for pretty much with watches sub 10k
Yep. Nice watch and if it was solar it would be nearly perfect.
Love your channel with so many stellar watches! For me the MAMACOO’ watch is my favorite. Keep the videos coming. Thanks.
I think it’s a pretty nice watch
I will have to agree to disagree, but Tissot is not about to kill Seiko, nor Citizen for that matter. I own Seiko’s and Tissot, I’ll get rid of my Tissot before my Seiko’s.
The Swiss are killing Seiko? Proceeds to show us one watch. Hyperbole anyone?
Earns commission. That says it all.
I agree
I love Tissot seastar gmt quartz
Best value is the entry level Gshock for $50. Everything else is marketing and vanity.
Why not get a seiko or citizen solar??? This way you can guarantee your diver's watch not been opened for a change of battery and the risk of waterproofing!
Seiko's mechanoquartz movement VK63 is far superior to this one
J'adore ce bracelet orange
Your beard is very angry..........it keeps looking at me like I owe it something.
Could probably hide an extra quartz chrono in there.
@@compaqdeskpro5770 😁👍
Seiko Prospex are good value but horrible inaccurate +- 35 Seconds a day. Tissot seastar powermatic 80 silicium is very accurate for $1000.
If this was 43mm or less I would get it today. 🙄 But otherwise a great watch.
I don't see the big deal. A $500 chronograph diver that's quart. Been done at that price before maybe not 300m, but who really needs that. If it were a mechanical that would be impressive.
I guess the Monster, King Turtle, Arnie et al are neither legit or interesting... to him because none of them are approaching 1000 bucks and all are Dive certified which I don't see on any of the Tissot Seastars.
Seiko still cheaper and affordable plus has more variation. 😂
Swiss vs Seiko😮?
You are joking or Swiss pay to you. Seiko is Seiko and for now nothing gonna change this😊😅
Seiko are killing themselves😂😂
I have one of the early Powermatic 80 Seastars. It's actually my only Tissot so far. I find it wears well for its size. As a San Francisco native, this chrono would be tempting if I didn't already have a Seastar, and if I hadn't got my hands on a Hydroconquest chrono, just yesterday, for $750.
I like Tissot. I don't like the watch.
Sorry man, Just like everything Japan makes, they make with obsessive perfection. You don't see European cars killing Toyota..same so with Seiko or Citizen or Timex..they thrive because they are that good..Some watches may disappoint, but the higher end watches are legit great..at par if not better than those snobbish European brands.
Some of the comments in here stating Seiko is better or Tissot is better is casting an OPINION … nothing more.
I prefer European cars, architecture, & watches [design philosophy being the common theme] over options from Asia.
Not a fan of Seiko, Orient, Casio, etc. I’d consider a Tissot beater for my collection, but for entry level; probably looking at Sternglas or even Echo/Neutra, Farer, etc.
Why does a diver need to be a chronograph? Are you seeing this 300m down?
90+ of real divers don’t bring their expensive watches diving. They use a dive computer and sometimes a cheap Casio backup. I used to have a bluesy submariner and took it diving exactly 1 time.
