- What do you get in terms of quality, fit and finish when you buy either a Swiss entry-level automatic divewatch or a Japanese entry-level automatic divewatch?
In this video I compare the 2024 Tissot Seastar 1000 40mm automatic diver with the 2024 Seiko SRPL11 "Baby Samurai" automatic diver.

Tissot wins no questions asked. The dial has very attractive to look at, the power reserve is 80 hours and overall dimensions are more elegant. Lume is top notch.
Tissot with plastic partsz
@@mutawi3i dont buy it then. i will .
@@mutawi3i Only plastic watch movement part I've broken, was in a Seiko with the 4R36 movement, was during warrancy, so Seiko did put in a new movement for me.
But just a reminder that Seiko movements does use plastic components in their mechanical movements too.
@@mutawi3iyou have ur own opinion based on ur own research?😂
Just FYI, only one model of Powermatic 80 has nylon parts. Not all of them (3 models I believe).
I've owned several Seiko's and haven't kept them. The Tissot looks like a keeper.
Nice comparison❤
The Tissot mops the floor with the Seiko. I had a Seastar 43mm on a rubber strap. It wore small for it's size, the dial was a black-blue fade and it was stunningly beautiful. I might buy it again. I sold all Seikos I had and I probably won't buy another one because they are just super-focused on turning their brand into absolute trash.
Do not also forget the accuracy and the power reserved 80hrs from the ETA movement. Out of this world!
@@lefterismic3978 Indeed, the Powermatics are like a space ship compared to 4R and 6R movements by Seiko.
Do the review of the SEIKO SPB 543 SIR❤😊
Tissot win 6-0. Nice video. Thanks😊
Bonitos Relojes de Buceo. 🤩🤩⌚️⌚️
Tissot superior all day long,in fact comparing a Swiss watch against a crappy Seiko is a bit of an insult
The new Tusino shellback is better than both, but the Sekio wins this match!❤
Good afternoon, which watch is better, the Seiko SRPL11 Red Samurai or the Venezianico Nereide Red?
Great comparison. Do you think rajar the King Samuray would be a better?
Just got a king samurai night vision it’s a true example of good done well better than the new kids just saying
Seiko all day!
samurai hver gang!
I guess I need to look up the price? Unless I missed it
@@waterhead1359 I mention them e few times. List prices are €795 for the Tissot and €650 for the Seiko. But never buy at list price.
@@TimeAndCrown thanks
Date window on the Tissot is much better.
Tissot!
I don't like either of the brands, and I'm not impressed by either of these models. The Tissot is the better watch though.
The Tissot is more of a fashion watch as opposed to the Seiko which is more of a tool watch. The Seiko is an ISO certified diver's watch whereas the Tissot is not. So it's really about what someone wants. Seiko's watch is more of all arounder since it can be a tool watch that can be worn in dress situations.
The Tissot is better value for money, I can’t believe Seiko didn’t put sapphire in this watch.
There is a functional reason for that though.. sapphire while less scratch resistant shatters. Seiko’s proprietary hard lex doesn’t as easily… so this means it is safer as a dive watch
@@tariqkhonji6556 but the problems is that once you scratch the glass you will want to change it anyway cause it's very annoying, you can overlook the case scratches but not the ones on the glass
@@jotr.9786 honestly I have never had a problem with scratching it
Tissot = Mercedes, seyko=trabant😂
The Seiko is the best deal. I cannot uderstand why many insist on the sapphire crystal , which doesn't scratch but shatters easily if hit hard.
Because sapphire is better than hardlex mineral in every possible way. That's why.
@@kresimirpleic For diving Hardlex has better properties.
@@marioaquilina248 No, it doesn't.
@@kresimirpleic You just dont like Seiko. I understand that. Enjoy your watches.
@@marioaquilina248 No, you are just a fanboy who is too blind to see that literally every diver out there in the past few decades has a sapphire crystal, not mineral. Mineral glass is found only on entry level watches as a cost-cutting measure to help make them as cheap as possible. The fact that sapphire is superior to mineral in every way is not up for discussion. It's simply a matter of fact, not a matter of opinion.
Hate that sentence " entry level" like you need to buy of these ( entry level ) watches before getting a bigger, better, more expensive mid level watch then you go to high level watch after that is the twat level .
@@darrenfry4695 But that is how many people start out and develop their collection.
@@TimeAndCrown not everyone , ninety percent of people there first watch wouldn't even be automatic, most people start with a casio then get the bug and move onto other watches there's no entry level at all, it's like fools that say about entry level Rolex watches lol 😂 it's crazy most people can't afford or if they can just wouldn't spend five hundred pounds let alone a thousand pounds and more .
There is nothing in this Seiko comparable to this Tissot..
the seiko looks better ...
I'd take seiko all the way. Tissot build quality is just not as good as seiko
Seiko has the worst quality control in the entire industry... They make Tudor's QC look competent.
I like both brands, but between these two Tissot win hands down!
