Do you not have to lay the trench blocks in the middle leaving 150mm either side ?
Great video mate, how deep is the concrete foundation under blocks please

I remember reading back in the 90's about UK masons protesting " Western Framing" techniques with brick or stone "veneers" , which is common in the US .
If memory serves me , local building codes in many areas of UK approved the use of Western Framing structures , with slab on grade concrete and veneers , connected to framing with wall ties.
What is the status of this building technique ?
I'm a masonry Contractor in Texas.
I realize that England and indeed the entire UK has much different weather than the Southern US and much more rain and snow than say , Texas.
I have much respect for you guys , being as you basically build the entire structure , aside from the roof and interior details ...of course , plastering is much more common in The UK as well .
Best of luck on your channel my friend and Godspeed !
Thankyou my friend, means a lot! Hope you can come along the journey with me and enjoy it👍🏽🧱
Awesome work mate!! 🙌💯⚒ just subscribed 👌
Thanks a lot mate, much appreciated! Looking forward to watching more of yours👍🏽🧱
Nice work i like the blocks haven't laid them yet
Mark Hep these type of trench block are good mate, got handles which slot into each other so there’s no perp👍🏽
@@ConstructionwithKieren nice one 👍
Great stuff thanks for sharing!
Thankyou for watching👍🏽
I'm not at all confident that thermalite is a suitable material for building a house/building on top off. It is lightweigh and has little compressive strength. I am amazed that it seems to have approval for this task. They may have run 'tests' on it but how will it perform in 30 years, 50 years time ? You cananot test for time and material changes.
They are a good idea in terms of convenience and speed, but I would have thought a 3kn block would be more suitable.
were do you buy those large foundation blocks from?
Any local builders merchants sell them about £3-5 each👍🏽
@@ConstructionwithKieren ok thank you, keep the good work going
Great video mate , don't think we have them big blocks here
mac plastering cheers bud, a lot of people have said that!! Thanks for watching👍🏽
😳😬. Did them for over 10 years and not missing them in the slightest ..... At least you’re using the thermalite t n g block 👌🏼🧱👍🏼
Bricklaying With Steve and Alex I’ve found these trench blocks are much easier to use, we sometimes use the other ones with no handle/slot in part! They still aren’t much fun to lay, just very satisfying🧱👍🏽
Construction With Kieren . 👌🏼🧱👍🏽
What strength are these blocks ?
Thermalite trench blocks!
@@ConstructionwithKieren yea im looking to use some on a side extension and cant find clear guidence on to use thermilite 3.6n trench blocks or 7.3n ones
@@harrywebb844 most people I work with/know use thermalite ones mate, maybe check with a building inspector!👍🏽🧱
