True but it can never showcase anything in real combat scenario since they never had any real combat engagement hence even if they cover every training they had if they've never even experienced what real hell is, then there's no use in showcasing that.

Seeing ppl display their superiority complex and comparing a bunch of 19 year old conscripts to their regular commandos based on a short video which doesnt even cover 10% of local training nor trainings done in jungles of Brunei, Thailand, Taiwan, Australia..... is just what i came here for.
literally the first thing the video explains is that they are showcasing the final task that has to be done before completing their training

Now is that enough for you? Because you see any military in the world who never had any combat experience is as good as a target practice versus a seasoned veteran.

But to speak factually, we are not without combat experience, we are heavily involved in peacekeeping, we are patrolling the Persian gulf, and the sea of Somalia. We are fighting ISIS, although not in the capacity of the US.
So are we experienced? No.
But do we have zero experience? No.

Don't care what other people said about Singapore Commandos. But as a conscript, I volunteered to serve as a fighter for the battalion when I can get posted to any other vocations that are much easy going to finish off my two years.
It is easier to compare foreign armies comprising of regulars that are much superior than our conscript based army.
But deep down in my heart as a conscript, I had given my best contribution to my nation and that's all that matters.

That's true its unnecessary, what necessary is a real combat experience. Training is nothing as long as there's no application of it. A hundred inexperienced soldier vs 10 seasoned veterans well its good as a target practice for the veterans.

Congrats to these young men who have been pushed to their limits and come out successful. This is a resilient bunch who would do any team proud.
Proud of all the Singaporean boys! A stark contrast to the youths elsewhere. While others damage and hurt with impunity, our boys sweat tears and blood to protect. Often 2 or more years of our precious youth spent in camouflage. But looking at our country and our people today, it’s worth the sacrifice! Majulah!

"Becoming a Commando" - shows nothing about becoming a Commando. Informative video.
Just don't compare why Singapore's commando is different than other countries in S.E.A. region. Singapore are largely dense with urban terrain while other countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia & others are mixed with jungle & urban terrain so their training, hardship is different.
Each has different challenges.
They just want to spend with efficient cost. Not spend on something that don't really suit with their demography & geography.

Otherwise, they are just no difference with the conscript guy.
when you say commando, they're trained in all terrain.. like saf commandos in Philippines they are trained in the jungle and urban. but they are not soldiers but policeman, SAF is the elite unit of Philippine National Police. They also take Special Forces,Force Recon and Ranger training not only commando training.

Elite, at our place means they're only specify with certain type of operation while special force surpass the elite which they're trained with all types of operation even though the terrain that they were trained doesn't exist in our country.
For example, in Malaysia, both police & military have their own special force & elite team. Like Malaysian police have their VAT69 Komando as their special force while their UTK are their elite team which specify on dealing with the counter-terrorist & organized crime activity.

Well these conscripted commandos aren't comparable to the GGK commandos in ur country. The special ops task force here goes through the real training and don't get featured. Anyways neighbouring countries compare for what, we should help each other instead.

Malaysia commandos are regulars. They volunteerily opt to become a commando. These Singaporean commandos are conscripts. FORCED into 2 years. So erm, yeah, of course Malaysian training is harder. Our regulars on the other hand...

10 years ago, Malaysia has quietly shown Singapore over how weak it security was. Malaysia has slapped the Singapore armed forces in ways that caused it to come unstuck. The most dramatic was when Malaysia's Commandos invaded Singapore high security air missiles base in Bukit Batok overlooking the Straits of Johore and pasted Malaysian stamps on the missiles and replaced the Singapore flag on the Commanding officer's table with the Malaysian flag. Several Singapore officers resigned or were reassigned or demoted. This is based on true incident happened but was not formally published!

I have watched many videos and done some research on warfare and training of some elite forces around the world and think that they are much better than Singapore commando.
In our commando unit, we often hear about the usual expectation of being the fittest of all, IPPT standards are higher than mainstream vocation and must get gold. Trainings are physically tough and our commando always get the best combat unit and its considered as the cream of the crop.
However in the British parachute regiment, their training is very strongly centred on the soldier's inner character of aggression, combat fighting spirit and toughness. Max aggression towards the enemy and toughness towards pain. Before getting their red beret, they have to go through a brutal boxing fight,known as milling. The rule is that you and the opponent punch each other in the face at full force and you cannot dodge any hits. The activity often ends up with bruises and broken noses. The pain makes you stronger.
Singapore commandos trains ah boys into physically fit men, while the British paratroopers transforms raw recruits into warriors that are trained to kill.
Elite soldiers of other countries are similarly aggressive in close combat fighting.
In summary, our commando unit is incredible in fitness and combat tactics but is lacking in the inner combat character of aggression and combat fighting spirit.
We are conscripts bro and they are not.
Marines and paratroopers of other nations is already the most reasonable comparison that I can give to our elite forces. Below is mainstream.

That’s y all our SAF personal do more helping out in disasters and shit than helping out in wars. Singapore literally would help the civilians in war than help fight it so there would be no tensions with the other countries

@@avegaughtastiffy1654 different operational requirements and capability. GGK operate in small teams of 5 to 16 men modelling the 22 SAS. GGK mission are direct action, counterinsurgency and long range reconnaissance kinda like US Navy SEALS except without the maritime capabilities. Judging by this video the Singapore Army Commandos operate more like the US Army 75th Ranger Regiment. Yeah they do direct action mission like GGK but SAF Commandos seems to operate in the special operation light infantry role conducting raids in larger formation than GGK. Again this is not a diss. The GGK and SAF are two different beast. The Singapore SOTF would be a more accurate comparison
Dude, these are conscripts. What were you expecting? You want to compare, be fair. Compare with our regular commandos aka CRF and SOF who have gone through ranger course, SFQC and various other courses including overseas courses.
Take this Senior Warrant Officer SOF commando (YC Poh) who just recently stepped down from his post in Army Intelligence as an example: His uniform is stacked with course badges - SG Ranger Course, the US Navy Seal BUD/s, the US Special Forces Q course and even their Combat Diver Course which takes in seasoned US SF and 75th Ranger operators, and not fresh recruits.
These regular commandos/SOF have also trained with US SOF members and even units like the NZ SAS, and HK SDU. Even our Police STAR team has trained with the ROK's 707th SMG. so I'm pretty sure our country's special forces members have some standard to be able to train alongside the various reputable SF units from other countries.
In all, you comparing our conscripts to GGK is seriously akin to comparing apples to oranges when you should be judging our REAL SF members.
GGK special operations force is a regular force but they volunteer as conscripts and apply to serve as regulars when they get selected but the high majority fail.
