they either come up with the call-sign themselves or they'll be given a call-sign. but of course, making your own call-sign, you have to pay a certain amount of money. that's what i heard from my uncle and friends who were in the RSAF
Spoofy Tofuwu If you want to be a Fighter Pilot in the airforce you have to sign up as a regular and sign a 10 YEAR BOND with the RSAF, during your time as an NSF, representatives from the RSAF will come to visit you for a recruitment talk and explain how it all works, they will hand out forms you so you can indicate your interests to sign up. If you indicate your interest to join, a few days/weeks later you will have to take the COMPASS test ( I can't tell you what it is ) to see if you are eligible to join. Then later when you are close to ORD they will call you up and ask if you want to join the airforce ( If you passed the COMPASS test ), you either reply yes or no to them, I don't know what happens next.

The air force in my country doesn't allow you to be a pilot if you don't have perfect vision.

Degree must not exceed 500, and your vision must still be corrected to 20/20. Many airforces or airliner have the same rule.
