Today I will show you the process of remaking a wristwatch. I will make an unusual dial with chess pieces for them. I hope you enjoy the result! #watch #chess
@@mattv8959 lol, there is entire Facebook watch mod groups especially based around seikos. Not to the extent of shifting movements like this but a lot of these micro brands and hobby watch makers are just modding all ready available watches or components.
@@moagnor Indeed. The markup on those is literally at least 5000% (it maybe costs like 5 bucks to make if we're generous). They've figured out capitalism - make a trash cheap product, pay a bunch e-celebs to peddle it to people who do not know better, profit. In fact, I find it a bit hard to believe that anyone with any familiarity with machining, let alone someone as decent (at the very least, if not even great) at it as Levsha, would've spent even a piece of chewed gum on an obviously poorly made product. Had to have been "gifted", again that's this company's whole business model.
@@shafismaili1347 I was replying to a comment about a "low price" watch and adding my two cents to someone's accurate remark that the watch in question is not low-priced at all (but rather low quality and quite overpriced). I had never mentioned "evil", I've instead made a very specific factual statement about the brand in question and the economic framework that allows it to exist as such. It's always sad to see weird NPC's offended at millionaire and billionaire conmen's behalf, you got me thinking of that "Elon Musk/Weird Nerds/Criticism" meme.
4:21 you know sometimes when you drop a screw and It tele transports to another dimension, never to be seen again?. I was heavy sweating for that little pawn and the rest of the pieces for them, not to fall into that pile of metal swarf :D Amazing work as usual.
Amazing work, and I love miniature craftsmanship like this. My only issue with this was that the board shown is not a legal position! A black pawn could never be in the top left corner as you show it. In addition, because the board is angled in the picture and the pieces are straight up, it makes it look like the pieces are slanted, however that is very hard to notice at first glance and still looks amazing.
@kemphoss-4791 I think that's just the slant of the board. If you screenshot it and compare, they are almost identical. Really shows the level of craftsmanship put into this.
This was lovely to watch 😅 and listen to, and it was astounding to see how it all comes together love the functionality and it’s a perfect watch. Thank you for your Channel. 🙌
It sounds easy but magnets strong enough to hold the pieces securely would destroy a mechanical watch and halt a quartz. If you wanted to make things move you would be better off using a thin glass layer over the dial, or having the “dial” itself rotate partially. Aso, you could only get arc motion not straight lines
I would think moving the mechanism off center would be difficult to impossible with an automatic movement. It was possible with this because of the small movement that could easily be repositioned within the case.
@@melody3741 When you said you would like to see this done, it seemed like you meant this design. Miyota's current catalog of automatic calibers are all 11 1/2 ligne, which is about 26mm or just over an inch. Their smaller calibers are all quartz electrics. I took this info from the catalog on their site, so it might not reflect older options.
Machining is so amazing on one hand you have this tiny work and on the other hand you may have a D6 part chucked up in a big lath. I think it is neat going from one extreme to the other.
Dude that is incredible!!! I've learned how to play chess when I was 4 my dad taught me. And I have his watches. I would love to do something with them like that.
The amount of detail is insane, who would have imagined creating chess pieces that small
Amazing ❗❤
Me :)
Never in all my days had I imagined modifying an existing watch. You, are an impressive craftsman.
... wat?
That’s like what 99% of what the watch builders do lol

Turning a low price watch into a piece of art, compliments to you.
Low quality. Not low price...
@@moagnor it probably cost only 60 cents to manufacture at a large scale factory.

As impressive as it looks, imagine to have functional chess at this size :) and in this form :)
That is what I imangined it was.
@@alchemystudiosink1894 cool :)
Magnetic Version could but much work
I thought it was functional
Cant remove pieces off the board. A digital chess board imitating the colors could do the trick.

Glad to see you back 😊
Gorgeous work. I love a craftsman who builds their own tools. Well done.
Finally. You are here again. Please continue to share your precious work with us. Thank you.
I am truly amazed at just how much detail there is in this. Thank you.
Love this!! would love to see more stuff like this
This is next level work. The thought and detail going into this piece are as amazing as the craftsmanship. ❤❤❤
love the perspective you chose for the board, such confidence
Unbelievable! Congrats!

I'm not sure what's more impressive, the creativity or the craftsmanship. Simply stunning.
This was the first video I watched on your channel ever. I immediately subscribed. Impressive work of art. Keep up the good work.
Wow. That is an impressive piece of work.
Amazing job!
Your projects and skills are beyond amazing!!
Genius using the smaller movement and offsetting it to clear everything. And the time clock is the cherry on top.
Fantastic craftmanship at it´s best! Truly admirable!!
oh I'm so glad your back! you truly are a craftsman on another level.
I love that the board has some perspective to it
Beautiful work
Fabulous work

Outstanding!
Such a beautiful masterpiece! Well done, I wish I had one at my wrist
So do I!
First check whether u have wrist
What would that cost? I love it!
A real masterpiece. Congratulation!
It would be cool if you made the pieces from steel and used magnets to make it move in place of the dials.
@@melody3741 couldn’t have said it better myself. Magnets are a no-no with watches.
Magnets ruin analog watches.
@@SchmendricksLaw mechanical watches. Analog format doesn’t matter.

The only MVMT that I would actually buy. Great workmanship!
Frickin' awesome!!

A masterpiece in itself

I'm so happy you have no idea.
Amazing. Great result! Although the quartz movement doesn't do justice to the dial, it is an amazing and beautiful work!
