Hey man, nice video. I can't tell you how many Fujifilm and Ricoh videos I've seen in the past few months, but this one really stuck out. It skipped all the buzz words and just talked about things that really resonated. Honestly, great work. I love how you tell a story. Keep it up.
Thank you, Yawar! This actually means so so much! Cameras are more than specs to me. They are tools that help us live better lives. So to hear you feel that from me means the world!
Hey man! thanks a lot for sharing your experience, honestly you have helped me a lot to decide between the Ricoh GR III X and the Fuji X100V, both are very good cameras of course, but the way you have explained and transmitted your feeling taking pictures with the Fuji, you have transmitted me the feeling that it really is THE camera to carry with you day after day, it is something I was looking for.
Yeah for sure! There’s something beautiful about the older x series. May not have the most incredible features, but being able to capture moments is all that matters to me!
i was going to get a 100v but ended up with an XPro 3. I decided on the XPro as I felt the 23mm(35mmFF) was far to restricting on my style. None the less, the 100v is a great little camera and if I could get one , I probably would as a second camera.
Yeah I’ve seen a lot of people loving the XPro 3. I’ve never personally used one, but if I didn’t use the x series, I would definitely consider that as an alternative!
I got mine brand new about a week and a half ago from a local private seller I traded something for it with cash on top but all in all I still got it under retail. I absolutely love it and take it with me everywhere I go. I’ve compared photos side by side with my G85 and the x100v easily takes the crown
What a deal! Amazing you found one. It's truly an unbelievable camera! I've had mine for over two years and literally take it everywhere. Other than the current price, for what it is, it literally has no down sides for me. Just simply perfect!
I love the X100V, but due to the pancake lens, I did feel frustrated when using the aperture ring or manual focus ring. I ended up mapping the aperture to one of the dials (as well as SS) and always use AF, but that negates the analogue feel of the camera.
Exactly! I had to wait seven months to take delivery of this camera from my local camera shop but at least I only paid the MSRP. Got the black version to up my iPhone shooting experience … couldn’t be any happier with it. Looking forward to using the new Xapp and the software upgrade that goes with it. I found the old remote app was hopeless.
Same! I found mine at a random camera store in South Carolina that only had one in stock. I got so lucky. But it has been SUCH an amazing experience with this camera. I agree!
Yeah.. you've convinced me to not sell mine. I rarely buy used cameras and this was my second right before Covid and I've been shooting it the same way as you.. for me four years now wow how times fly. But yeah I picked it up because I was a strictly film Leica shooter before this, but with the film price now, it's just no way. Took a detour with x100v, but recently I picked up something, and I think I'll keep my x100v for when my kids are ready/interested in photography.. which is soon! Kids nowadays so spoiled to be able to start with something like this.
@@nuj427 That’s exactly why I’ve kept mine. Works perfect for what I need it for, and honestly it’s so fun to watch my kids learn how to use it. They put the strap on and walk around with it, and because it’s made of metal, I never have to worry about them breaking it. It’s a winner for me!
If it were me, I would probably look find a x100, x100s, or x100f second hand and use that camera as a starting point of learning more about composition, lighting, and street photography. That way you don't break the bank and can focus more on learning and upgrade over time when it makes sense. I personally wouldn't dive right in to the x100v.
I’ve owned the X100V since it launched, right before the pandemic started. I fell in love with it instantly as the design was just beautiful especially in the silver and black finish but, I went with the all black for street photography. I sold my old X-T1 and lenses to get it so it was a bit of a change moving from working with a 50mm to the 35mm, but it just worked. I have to say, out of the four cameras I have (Sony @7 3, GRIIIX, iPhone 13 Pro and the X100V, the X100V takes the best images even better than the Sony full framed camera… seriously! I almost sold it to buy the model above my Sony but couldn’t do it so I bought the one I now own, I just love to use it that much but: it might get sold along with all my other camera gear to buy the Leica Q3 but it is something I will think hard and long about before deciding, it’s that good a camera.
Yeah I think from what I've seen, the Leica Q2/Q3 would be the only reason I would consider selling the x100v. But the Q series has such a massive lens that the portability factor would be a tough sell for me. Because that's been so nice to just have that little fixed pancake lens on the x100v that delivers such incredible photos!
