The weight difference is the 2nd biggest issue, the first being the 3rd gen B16a2 only makes 127hp 116ft of torque as to the 1st gen B16a makes 158hp 125ft of torque. My dx factory weighs in at 1700lbs- 1935lbs with me inside. Thanks for the video

My favorite Civic SI is the 1999-2000. It is both classy, subtle, and stylish. If money was no issue I'd swap a K24/20 Hybrid Drag Kartel cams, Hondata Kpro, the best set of headers made for mid-high end(not sure what the latest Headers are for The K20/24 b/c it's been up on them),intake mani, etc. Ah Omaha Nebraska my home town, I probably saw this S.I. roaming around the streets. Yet knowing that the future is Tesla like cars I'd probably get a Model 3 Sports edition. However The look of 1999-2000 Civic S.I.'s are always a pleasure to see. Oh and this is coming from a person who started out and still loves the VW VR6 Engine. My first and only car I got serious into modding was a N/A 1995 VR6 Jetta GLX. All it took was getting a basic short ram intake and I was hooked. I got to the point where I had heat treated P&P Head/Bigger Valves cut stems, 268 DRC Cams, Schrick Intake mani, Exhaust, pulleys, CIA, intake manifold spacer, 2.9TB Euro, chip, 10lb. LFW, 3.94 Euro R&P, etc. The only things I didn't do was up the displacement and port and gasket match the exhaust and lower intake mani. For a 4 Dr. 95 Jetta it surprised quite a few people. I just subscribed to your channel. You are a level headed cool person when it comes to cars so it makes it enjoyable I hope you keep getting more subs.
You seem to know what you like and have had some super serious builds. Nothing more fun than enjoying cars and learning from them! And thanks for the support, it means a lot. I just try to make content people will enjoy and hopefully learn a thing or two along the way!
@@GarageBuiltHondas yeah if I had the money I'd do some fun builds but right now not so much. It is nice to see people enjoying their builds though. The future of modifications is in Electric cars now that's a step up from air/fuel combustion engines that is basically 1890's tech.
No doubt. I seen a em1 on here not too long ago. It looked and sounded very healthy. Much quicker than this one. I have no doubts it would be a close, very close run with the EF.
Since they are both b16.. My initial guess was whoever’s setup is healthier is ganna win.. the Ef is for sure lighter but not by a lot.. the ef has his setup a lot better dialed in than the em1...he pulled on em!! Good runs! Time for a b20 bottom end
I love both of those cars, had a 00 SI and loved it, and had a 91 sedan with a K20 and loved it even more. Now, i drive a Volvo S70R and always find myself looking for a nice honda project on Craigslist. One day i'll find one i cant pass up.
Haha nice little run there. On the first run as you passed I saw the flash of your face on the go pro cam, I died laughing. Yeah you had him on weight, that slight drop in compression is either valve seals or seats have carbon build up.
Noticed the EM is missing a bolt on the distributor at the top. And as stated below, when doing a compression test...the throttle body must be held wide open.
I know this is an old video but a JDM B16A second generation has 170 hp 10.4:1 compression an 8200rpm redline and vtec engages at 5500 rpm while the B16A2 from the Si has 160hp a 10.2:1 compression 8000rpm redline and vtec engages at 5600rpm. So the JDM B16A is a little better than the USDM one. I guess it also depends what ecu and tuning you are running.
