4th gear is the best gear for maxing out your boost! But the 21.6 isn't your max boost your max boost is the boost you hold until redline. I have a manual and I hit 24 pounds and max I hold is about 19. But any way nice video man!

I love this guy hes hilarious! His videos inspired me to purchase a GTI. I bought a '07 with 63k miles. Unfortunately its suffering from extreme oil consumption... about 1qt per 300 miles or so :( There is no visible burning oil and there are NO LEAKS..... The piston rings were replaced by the previous owner... he sold the car two weeks later. The car literally runs perfect... I just don't know where the oil is going... thinking about replacing entire valve cover.. any ideas gtiman?
I add a half quart every 2 weeks, no leaks either. I was told it's normal for VW's with turbo's. I got rid of the factory PCV system in favor of a catch can, which keeps the excess oil from getting displaced in all parts of your engine. I regularly empty the catch can of condensated water and oil mixture.
heliograms lmfao? your boost gauge is measured in "inches of mercury (in Hg)". It is a unit of pressue. "IN" is an abbreviation for inches. "Hg" is the periodic symbol for the element mercury. A heliogram is a message sent by heliograph, whatever that is.
i got apr stage one. My cruise control buttons doesnt work at all so i cant change programs. After i bought the car, i replaced the battery, had it out for two hours. Dont know if this might have reset my tune, but i read around 11-13 psi. i do get spikes up to 18 +/- but they dont stay, evens out to around 12 usually. Either a leak, or car is back to stock. So confusing.
APR reverts back to your stock program after battery removed that's to protect customers from VW finding OUT you're chipped🙄 but it's simple to FIX you must turn key 🔑 halfway with cruise in on position then enter your code one number at a time by depressing set button once for each digit then cancelling cruise power with switch to off position in between each successful number entered 3 would be 3 presses of set button then switching cruise off then back on... there should be 4 numbers in code if you forgot go to your APR dealer and they can set it up for YOU for a nominal fee. as APR KO4 now my stock program is also my performance program as I no longer can be STOCK KO3!

However, my cruisecontrol itself doesnt work. no dash light, cant activate while driving. trying to figure out if it might be a fuse somewhere but all fuses seem to be intact. i read online that the stalk often fails on these cars? turn signals works though.

Lol, buddy that's called a "boost spike" not max boost! if you see 21psi at 6500 RPM that is max boost! what is happening is the wastegate is closed until it reaches it setting, and then opens, typically boost instantly (unless you have a external wastegate which you do not) drops 1-2 PSI. Also, turbo FLOW and PSI are very different! A turbo boosting this motor at 15psi, put a larger turbo and set it to 15psi, you'll make a lot more power. so also this isn't max boost because a K03S which is your turbo is not capable of boosting 21psi at red line. if you are seeing this. I've owned 2 of these and 1 is exactly like yours stage 2+. side note, laughed my ass off!
Anytime you're not pushing the throttle it should be like negative 19 or 20 when you're at idle I have a cold air intake So that might mean it moves more air? Make sure because New South Performance MADE 2 different kinds one shows the inches in mercury Hg which is negative boost and then PSI which is positive Boost Most Turbo gages start to at 0.
@@gtiman67 I Turban, Gage shirts at -30 and ends at +30 in the car off at Chill’s at zero and the car is running at idle. It’s a in the negative and then again right at zero-ish went on throttle Max boosted 15 to 20 psi when I’m in fourth gear

I'm running the revision D compressor bypass valve now and I'm stage KO4 about 21 to 25 pounds of boost

Could be compressure surge? I've noticed when deciding to go FAST in the GTI you have to COMMIT any fluctuating of the accelerator will cause chirping from the compressor side of the turbo! And the needle will jump around. So push hard keep it up when accelerating level off when reaching desired speed gradually😁 IN 6 GEAR ⚙️
Once you reach top speed the Turbo is not needed so it levels off But 1 believe in my KO4 GTI MkV it's about 21 to 22 for MAX BOOST even though it will read like 25-28 for brief moments while charging 🏁🏎🏇🏻

For APR stage 1 all you need is a re-flash of your ECU cost varies but on sale about $600 only AND you don't NEED anything else?! It's recommended to get a COLD AIR INTAKE but that just helps the air become denser for the TURBO to work better. APR stage 2 You HAVE to drop your STOCK DownPipe and get a straight TEST PIPE is best or a HIGH FLO PERFORMANCE DP I have the test pipe it's 3" and makes it sound great but still pretty cheap about $700 more you also MUST have a COLD AIR INTAKE too not an option anymore - a Front Mounted InterCooler is recommended but not NECESSARY. For APR STAGE 2 plus means you must BUY a BRAND NEW FSI HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP from APR reassembled so it produces 1900 psi it's the Audi FSI stock pump just boosted up so it's about $900 this time a FULL PERFORMANCE EXHAUST is recommended but again NOT necessary however the FMIC is for STAGE 2 PLUS is mandatory. They gave me FMIC and other things like rotors etc brake lines etc they up and closed overnight?? My current SHOP is in Orlando run and owned by Fabian Santos which is also my favorite as they are serious about your car running right and not makeshift the shop is FS tuning so that makes this my 4th tuner shop

You should have vacuum on the boost if it's attached correctly when at idle.
Also open up your hood and listen for air escape but you could just have to block off some area where the air is coming out or get a new boost gauge.
