I had my mk5 gti tuned in August last year. 3" decat down pipe and oversize ramair induction kit. I always fill up with 99 Ron, and it made 285hp and 301lb-ft. work was done at decimal tenths. And it's an absolute beast
You went stage 2 with just an intake and downpipe? Still standard exhaust and Intercooler? I’m looking at going stage 2 now currently running 3” decat, oversized intake and direnza intercooler
Stumbled upon this video randomly. In my opinion I would never tune a car on anything else than 99/100 RON fuel. My ex mk6 GTI was running with 100 octane always, even without a tune. Made 280hp stage 2 on 100 RON. My current Cupra 280 is always filled up with 100 RON and still on stock map. You're literally throwing away massive performance gains and reliability in the long run. The difference in gas price is worth it without a doubt. Cheers, and keep it up!
As soon as you said front end knock I thought drop link, mines running similar figures to yours, it has five maps tuned at r-tech, even after 3 yrs of driving it, it still suprises me 😎 I rarely use sport mode as it spins in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and imo it just holds on to the revs too long Your editing and production is definitely progressing 👍👍 slightly damp rds and it will spin at 70mph if pushed hard Enjoy 👍
Aye luckily a nice easy fix with the drop link, that’s awesome I bet it’s great having different tunes! How do you swap between? Thankyou mate appreciate it 👍
@@overrungarage igntion on, foot on the brake, press the accelerator once and the rev counter goes 1000 rpm .. map 1, press again map 2 etc choose which you want and ignition off and start up with the map you chose.. simple 👍
Hi, I have MK5 GTI 2.0 TFSI manaul and I want to upgrade to stage 2. Do I need to change anything else besides downpipe exhaust, air intake system and intercooler? Thanks for answers!
You need at least a 2.75” exhaust from the turbo back, weather that is a combo of a decat downpipe into a cat-back exhaust or sports cat etc is up to you, other than that you are correct. Stage 2+ includes VIS hpfp internals 🙂
@@overrungarage milltek exhaust? I got same engine in my Leon. I got 3” decat, oversized ram air and booked in for custom cat back soon. Got a 250hp map on atm but think I could maybe go stage 2 with them mods?
@@samb394 yep 2.75 milltek. You could deffo go stage 2 with those mods, should see 270 with 99 Ron fuel. You then become limited by the hpfp, VIS internals are the next step 👍

@user-mj9gk6le1b yep just intake and down pipe. It has a 3" cat back system with res delete from gravity performance sounds sweet
Looks awesome, nice work! I miss my MK5 GTI especially after watching videos like this. Keep up the good work - its going to be a classic!
Thanks dude!
Sick mate, bet you're well happy with that now. Fingers crossed it treats you well!
Saving for my stage 2 atm, I can't wait smhh
The track when you got into the car😂😂 what is it I need it😂😂

Yeah that’s understandable, smiles per gallon!
Might be worth a video comparing MPG on normal and 99 RON petrol, always found I end up with more miles to a tank with 99 RON, probably anecdotal
@@dominicrussell8158 it only makes sense. I never filled up with 95 or 98, so couldn't tell you haha
@@raulvladddd true, only used 99 for the last 6-7 years or so. Just better for your engine as you have said
Nowhere near me has 99.
Great video 👍

Yes bro sick build 🔥 just wondering where did you get your front number plate from do you have a link for the design for place you bought it?

Where’d you go man been following your vids just picked up my tornado red mk5 and been starting mods
Will absolutely be returning in the future, have a newborn baby so money and time is a little tight at the moment! Thanks for checking in 🙌
@@overrungarage congratulations! Looking forward to future content!
Where did you buy the front number plate from bro? Is it stick on, in looking every where to buy some
What is done to the car?
What supporting mods can I ask please? Is it standard turbo, intercooler and fuel pump?
3” Decat, induction kit and 2.75” cat-back exhaust 👍

Total list of mods please?
Whew, that must have been a hefty bill. Probably worth it though :)
It will still be a massive improvement, but I can’t see the point in spending money on mods for power then hold it back by skimping out on decent fuel
Maybe have to go back to jbm in the summer 👀
I hear a failed Diverter Valve... lol typical vw. Happened to mine once I went stage 2.
No lie, I guessed 202.
