Wow, you just said everything that I've been thinking as i go to fix this piece of shit AGAIN!! If i never have to fix an appliance again it will be too damn soon! Front loaders are the worst! They are pretty to look at but that is all they are good for. I need to go back to the good ol, ugly, top loader that runs for years with no trouble! Thank you for making me laugh on this hellish morning!!

Did you not notice to the left of the filter was a black hose. That's the drain? Not the big white cap.

I had the same issue...but if you attach a decent wet vac to the drain tube at the back of the machine you can drain 95% of the water.

Ok, I have the 500plus in the Nexxt model also. I have purchased the optional stand that raises the machine off the ground-floor by 10". Make a catch funnel out of the clean plastic bottle-I use the wife's hand cleaner empty bottle which is about the same diameter as the plug that you unscrew. Retain the small cap end of the plastic bottle and cut off the bottom half of the bottle at an angle soes to make one side to flex after you stick the longer size of the opening of the bottle to the bottom of the drain mouth. Use the small cap end of the clear bottle as your handle and cut a 1" diameter round hole at 6:00 o'clock in the plastic bottle right where the straight sides-vertical part of the clear plastic bottle starts to taper in to the small cap part. Use towels to catch drips and flex your custom funnel to let the water drain into your 1" dia hole. If you can hook up a hose to the small cap end--good; then, do not cut the custom 1" dia hole. OR you can use a wet-dry vac to dish out the drain water of your custom funnel. I think the words you use are correct for this situation. I used the same words every time I went to the fucking 530i dealer to get my ultimate driving machine "fixed" for that first year of free maintenance. NO more BMW NO NO NO!!!!! Three sets of front rotors, 2 EGR valves, wrong caster from the factory, piss poor AC, always hitting bottom with dips in the road, two piece drive shaft splines worn out, rubber coupling at the trans to drive shaft broken, 3 replacement differential-hated the gear whine, rust in the gas tank-plugged-overheating of the motor. Ignitions problems they could not find; wavy rims, lost key by dealer as they were to replace front window; fried spark plugs--I like to drive at a ton sometimes, not able to make panic stops due to wrong front alignment. ON and ON. Back to Mercedes; life is good.

If you don't have a wet vac like myself, just make a wax paper funnel and drain into a tray, bowl. You also don't have to open it full throttle.

I cut the bottom off of a 2-liter soda bottle, then cut off the side of the bottle so i can reach my hand in to twist the cap. I then slide the bottle underneath that lip of the drain. There's enough angle to let the water run down the bottle and out the front of the washer.
I also have the pedestal though, so there's enough height to let the water run into a bucket. I can't think of what to catch that amount of water with, given how low the drain is. You'd probably have to open and then seal the cap every time the tray/bowl gets filled up, and just do that repeatedly.

I feel like an idiot for not thinking of the wet vac.
