    Jesus Revolution was simply put, a good movie. The acting was not 'hammy' which tends to be a common plague amongst Christian movies. The music was genuinely good, and cinematography was engaging. Most importantly it did not forget it's objective of evangelism, and did not feel heavy handed; It felt real. Best Christian movie I've seen and should set the standard.

    The Jesus Revolution is a must see. Very powerful. Saw it last night. No one left their seats during the whole movie. Even during the credits.
    The movie goers were groups of old people and right before the start of the movie came groups of young people. It was amazing!

    So many Christians don’t realize how important Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa is to that church in America. Calvary Chapel isn’t perfect but they have so much going for them. They provided a solid foundation for the beginning of my Christian journey. I’m grateful for Horizon Christian fellowship and Mike McIntosh and crew in San Diego.

    • @aaroncovert5497
      @aaroncovert5497 Рік тому

      I grew up going to Costa Mesa and later went to a smaller church Calvary Chapel backed in Santa Ana. We would always lay hands on people who needed prayer, and whenever someone gave their life to God we all cheered and celebrated and the word of God was always the center of it all. I feel like we have been losing that in the last few years. Need to pray the excitement for God comes back and not just be a social club anymore.

    I was there. I am 70 also. I am so glad to hear Greg honestly say he never seen a biblical miracle. We all were raised to believe they were happening everywhere but where we were at the moment. I was stuck in the Charismatic movement for 30 years ! We were always told God is doing a NEW THING. Did I get saved and hear the gospel? Yes, I did! I was called a Jesus freak and that was not a bad name back then. Speaking in UNknown babble was everywhere. I did it all the time too. I was part of the reason for the Rot you see today and i am so so sorry for that. We were kids and we did what the adults told us God was all about.

    How cool is it that extras and regulars got baptized IRL on the set?!
    In 1995, I was utterly lost and drifting aimlessly. Some guy I briefly dated invited me to church---he went to Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. I figured it was worth a shot, even though I was agnostic and had no spiritual background. I'll always remember the moment that Chuck Smith started talking on the Book of John. His way of making it simple, his piercing eyes, and his warm smile drew me in so that I listened and heard the good news. For the first time, God spoke to me that day and I was saved eternally. Praise the Lord for using the nitwit I dated along with worship lyrics and Chuck Smith. I'm forever grateful! Side note: I went to the Harvest Crusade about a month after getting saved. ("Father and Son Moving Company" might make sense to people who went in the mid-90s.) During COVID lockdowns, my daughter & I watched Harvest Church with Greg Laurie online from our home in the Pacific Northwest. Full circle.

    Me and my local young adults fellowship (20+ people in number) went to go watch Jesus Revolution yesterday and we absolutely loved the movie. It’s in my top 5 Christian films. Beautifully directed and photographed. There were some historical things that the film changed, but it happens within every movie. Without the Jesus Movement. Without the Calvary Chapel movement, we would not have our modern western churches in terms of incorporating multiple instruments in worship. In terms of the evangelism. In terms of in-depth Bible studies. We are blessed by this beautiful tradition of Christianity.

But I would like to still see the movie myself, and see how well you accurately represented the biblical gospel. But to my sadness, I cannot stream it on any platforms at home. Keeping it in limited theaters in limited cities, is a pretty big hinderance to its reach. Perhaps the plan is to release it broader after the box office revenue has been recouped? We shall see! 🙏🏽
