Christian set such a poor example by insulting us all with suggestions we augment our reality with fantasy, as if one traveled better with one foot in fantasyland.
The Christian keeps the image of himself a god, a child of the highest god.
The Christians holy hero says a wicked generation seeks signs, but the Christian approves a sign in every chapter & uses his self-authorized authority to declare it is all sacred, scripture.
The Christian has zero shame in weighing in on whatnot as if the earth had gravity-free zones.
One might argue with a Christian, however it is usual for people to ignore the homeless making a call to his imaginary friend by holding a hairdryer like a phone.
This isn’t a new movement. You obviously weren’t paying attention. This is the Jesus Freak movement of the 60s. We were the generation of change.

Chuck was my Pastor from 1974 to 1979, where I accepted Christ, went to Bible School and attended CC Costa Mesa 3 or 4 times a week (then I moved to Nor. Calif.& established Calvary in Santa Rosa) . Kelsey Grammer has that 'laugh and chuckle' just like Pastor Chuck . . The Holy Spirit is the Subject of this documentary, and Pastor Chuck is the Instrument He used . .

I visited Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in 1981 on a late summer Sunday morning. Chuck preached and was amazing. I visited again in 2008-9 and Chuck was still consistent in delivering the word. He truly was anointed by God.
My husband and I loved this movie. Jesus is our everything💓

Not a coincidence that this movie is coming out now. There is such desperation fear in children and the youth. Its time for the Lord to intervene. We all need Him NOW. Our world is in chaos and such tumoil especially this nightmare of the last few years. We are losing loved ones and friends daily. You are not going to see this in the rotten news media because all they is lie.

In the movie, Lonnie Frisbee talks about how the youth were searching for something, but looking for it in all the wrong places. The same is true today. Times may have changed but human nature does not. Our youth desperately need Jesus.
Kelsey is one of my favorite actors. Love his work. ❤️
He is a brilliant actor
This movie was INCREDIBLE. I went with my mom, and I cried so many times, and laughed a lot! Such a great portrayal of the characters. I got saved at Angels Stadium at one of Greg’s Harvest Crusades when I was 4, and my family went to Calvary Chapel until I was 6 when we moved to NC. My heart will always find a sentimental attachment to this story.

I loved him in cheers. Frazier Crane and Frasier was a spin-off of "Cheers". I don't even drink, and I loved that show. You want to go where everybody knows your name. We all need a place to belong.

Like millions of others, I lived the Jesus Revolution. It remains the most real thing in my life. The times and styles and fads have changed, but the truth and the love and the goodness remains. Millions of us hope and pray to see it happen again. Those who know, know. Those who don't or never "got it" still can. The love of God is real. His Spirit continues to move even though we are still fallible, messed up critters. Yet He never gives up on us.
So looking forward to seeing this movie
The news anchors don’t even give any word towards Jesus but rather a person/pastor…. They don’t even wanna say His name….
This Jesus Revolution movie is a work of fiction regarding who Chuck was he wasn't a man finding his faith. He knew his walk with the Lord and He was in the little church on Church Street in Costa Mesa and because of his teaching on the word, it grew to the point that they sold the church and bought a school and rehabbed it on Sunflower Street in Greenville. I know this because I was there. Yes Lonnie frisbee brought in the hippies but even that scene where he's mad at Jen for bringing him in that's not how it happened at all! So much of this is pure fiction and it's disappointing.
She completely cut Kelsey off and the other anchor it was like ok didn’t want to give praise to Jesus, divine intervention, at all. She deduced it to “timing” 🙄 “just a coincidence” 🤷♀️😂
@@lisahinojosa2460 It can be hard to see the real story told more as fiction, but there are always reasons behind why a writer tells a story a certain way.
The need to heighten the dramatic element, the need to draw the audience in for a satisfying conclusion, and many more reasons.
Use your testimony to tell people the real story. The people who see the movie and find it powerful would love to hear the behind the scene knowledge you have. Be better, not bitter 😇
@@lisahinojosa2460 I can't imagine the disappointment and frustration of seeing something like this mischaracterized in the movie. I've seen a couple of stories that I knew firsthand, mangled by the media. Ineptitude or purposeful manipulation either way it's a travesty. Another commenter's suggestion that you share your behind the scene knowledge is good; whatever format you choose, there's sure to be interest now.

A motion picture isn't a biographical treatise. Chuck grew up in our town (Ventura). We know him. Check your heart, babe. Your hyper-critical attack on this beautiful film saves NOBODY.

There’s actually a few Christian movies out right now. The options when you go to the theater are wholesome Christian or demonic horror.
It is soooo good! You must go before they take it out of theaters; to see it on the big screen with others was awesome.

Kelsey Grammar does a wonderful job. We lived in the "OC" and were in HS during the Jesus Revolution and the Summer of Love. He is right that we have lost too much of that spirit. It was a very real experience then. Prayers that we can have revival once again.

It was an awesome movie. We had a full theater. Very well made, it was exactly like it was during the early 70's. Take some friends and go watch it.

Kelsey and Jonathan Roumie were both 25 years older than the characters they played.
The actor Jonathan Roumie (a devout Catholic Christian that also portrays Jesus on the TV show, The Chosen), in interviews about this film tells a story of when he was out in the water and the baptisms were being filmed, that one of the extras participating in this, came up close to him between takes and asked if her baptism could be done for real. Well, Jonathan was not expecting that one, but agreed, so when it came her turn to be baptized it was not just acting but the real deal. And the young woman exited the scene, as Johnathan says, like she was like 30 lbs lighter, brimming with joy.
What other film contains a behind the scenes story comparable to that?

The one thing is that KG is significantly older than Pastor Chuck was at the time. To me Chuck was Calvary Chapel; I love KG in other roles but the story writers gave it over to Lonnie Frisbee and Greg Laurie, making Pastor Chuck look like a go-between.
I went to Chuck Smith's church in Costa Mesa. I then moved on to Harvest in Riverside with Greg Laurie. Chuck was as real as you can get. A wonderful man. Let's hope Greg Laurie can start a new movement with this gem.

I think all these talk show hosts need to give credit to the other cast members. I’ve watched several interviews and not one has given credit to Jonathan Roumie. Maybe Jonathan is doing his own interviews, I’ll have to look.

I was a little girl in the late 60s early 70s in SoCal. I remember the Jesus Revolution. As a teenager in the early 80s I went to Calvary Chapel in San Diego headed by Mike Macintosh. Seeing the movie the other night brought it all back. The movie was so good! I usually find Christian movies so blaa and bland. Even though I am a Christian! This movie though was beautiful. The story was clear, music was great and several funny moments too! Loved it. See it!

Just watched this movie, last night, with my mom. I can’t say how much it moved me. I’ve never considered myself religious and have always been weary of people who call themselves “Christians,” but this story really captured me through its honesty and ability to call out the hypocrisy within certain parts of the Christian community. Thank you for this beautiful story ❤ Much needed in this day and age.

This movie was a emotional connection for me, I remember meeting Chuck Smith at Huntington pier in 1977 .I was a brand new Christian we had a great time & he could ‘ surf ‘ very well for a old guy.
I hope you saw the other videos regarding Lonnie frisbee and his unfortunate demise from the faith. This movie takes place in a small portion of his life. I was reading and hearing, and we must not make him a hero. I understand this is about revival, not him specifically. I think we can get too caught up in people!!!
Let’s focus on the Lord, the Holy Spirit that’s what this is about. Using broken people.
Honestly all I felt leaving the movie theater was joy and feeling closer to God than I have in a while. The characters were good but the point is your connection throught Christ is what empowers you and You will feel it for sure watching this movie....crazy how a film can touch one so.
I'm excited to see this and I absolutely respect and love Mr. Grammer. God bless him.
