    Great video! Got LEDs put in my '13 Fusion with help from your video. Also changed the fog lights to LEDs while bumper was off! Took about 2 hours but only because I took my time. That's counting going to part store to get new fasteners for the ones that broke 😂😠

    Definitely worth the investment. Did this on my 2016 Fusion. Also upgraded the turn signal (the small round bulb next to the high beams), and also the reverse gear tail light. Super easy to change the turn signal bulb while the headlight housing is on the bench. The reverse gear bulb change is super easy- 10 mins max for both of them. Thanks for the vid.

    That’s what I needed thank you. Didn’t see the two 10mm bolts holding the light up too

    Thanks I wanted to know if you needed the can bus decoders for the high beams you answered that question. I installed Leds everywhere else in the car about 6 years ago finally gonna do the high beams.
    Also if you use Forscan you can turn on Bambi mode. You can have your high beams and your low beams on at the same time, plus your fog lights if you have those installed. Your lights pretty much become weaponized at that point but you sure can see good when it's super dark out!

      I got some LED lights which claims to have Canbus cancellers/decoders. It worked as a charm at my 2013 Ford Fusion. No panel warnings or whatsoever. Also installed the same brand/lights at my 2015 Volvo XC60. XC60 is now complaining about the high beam with panel alerts as I trigger them. Even though you get can bus decoders (mine were built-in) it may or may not work with the model.

    I have a 14 with a 4, not a 3. 50k after 7 years. Great car. It’s my 14th Ford in 55 years. I am amazed how Ford can take a simple 15 minute job and turn it into a $350.00 service at the dealership. Changing headlamp bulbs has now become a silly money grab. Not to mention the 300.00 Transmission oil change. Hmmm, Toyota Venza. I’ll check the headlamp bulb change first before buying.

    Did you have an issue with the low beams flickering when the turn signal was on? And then would stop flickering after the signal turned off? I’m having that issue now. I’ve switched sides, swapped the plugs, checked wiring, still does it. Is it just the fact that the normal turn signal bulb is drawing so much power that it cuts the led’s power for a second?

    • @AutoDad
      @AutoDad  2 роки тому +1

    You do not see better with led. LED does not throw as far as halogen. Halogen are a warm yellow light..lighting the shadow areas. Kinda like yellow shooting glasses ...to open up the shadow area. LED were invented for BACK LIGHTING....TV's...not as projection bulbs. The misconception is that people think they are bright because they are blinding when you look directly at them. Use a light meter and you will the halogen wins every time. But you keep going boy you go.

    • @AutoDad
      @AutoDad  3 роки тому +2

      Sorry to tell you, but you are incorrect. LEDs are far brighter than halogens. Lumens per watt ratio does not even compare.

    • @skiprope536
      @skiprope536 3 роки тому

      @@AutoDad Lumens to watt ratios is a farce. Foot candles is how we measured light for 100 plus years. Lumens is a gimmick to get you to switch to LED. • @AutoDad

      Times change. Ways of measuring change. Foot candles, who cares. LEDs last longer, use less wattage, and help you see better all while blinding you as an oncoming driver who doesn't believe in change.

      @cardinaloflannagancr8929 3 роки тому +1

      Your entire statement is nothing but misconception and assumptions. Led's are not all the same construction, lumen output or color temp. The misconception is led's blind people incorrectly aimed lights do that. However everytime a new automotive lighting technology came about it is the same whine. We get it change is scary and every advance is not needed. Halogen was too bright and unsafe then became the norm. Then xenon/halogen was too bright now that is considered normal. You are a textbook example of old school unwilling to adapt. Looking for anything to agree with them why nothing can or should change.
