    Thank you for this, I’ve had to replace mine twice, it’s such a pain. There are videos saying there’s an easy way where you don’t have to take the bumper off, it’s not easier, trying to twist the light into place is only possible if you have tiny hands.

      I can, I've done a headlight change in 25min. You don't need to remove the bumper. Remove the top except for the farthest screw/clip and only the ones below the headlight assembly and then pull the housing out just enough to access the rear where the bulbs are. 25 minutes for both is all it should take.

    Thanks for the instructions. I successfully installed in my 2015 fusion.
    One thing to do when installing low beams is to also replace the daytime running lamps with white LED lights. Else, just the DRL’s will be yellow and LED’s white.
    I think they are 925’s and are located next to high beams

    Would like to add for anyone watching, get adjustable LEDs. Where they sit factory with round bulbs, to aftermarket LEDs, you need to change the rotation of the chips to be centered at 9 and 3 inside the projector. If you put them in just how they are, they will not project correctly. Make sure the brand you buy, has adjustable LEDs. The ones in this video is not adjustable. Auxito does sell adjustable ones but these specific ones are not...

    One thing not mentioned in the video is that the length of the new bulbs is greater than the originals. So you cannot put the bulbs in the socket in the same place as the original on the driver side. I tried to do that, but I realized that 1) it would not fit because it would hit the rim of the dust cap hole and 2) the leds would not be vertical. So, I had to install it with the stem facing downward. Actually, that is correct for the driver side. I tried to install the same way on the passenger side, but now the bulb would hit the rim of the hole since the alignment is different on the passenger side. I decided to install it with the stem of the bulb facing towards the driver side of the vehicle. This puts the leds at 120 degrees off vertical. It's not ideal. Elsewhere, I saw instructions that the orientation of the led can be changed on the bulb with a small screwdriver. Once I recover from this installation, I will pull the passenger bulb again and try to fix the led vertical alignment.

    Hey I just installed these on my 14 fusion but I wasn’t aware that the projector lens in the housing isn’t really compatible with leds since it creates a small shadow in two spots (since led lights go outwards instead of forward). Did you have this problem or no ?

    This will be long , apologies. But yes you CAN change your bulbs without taking bumper off, you can take the headlight mount brackets out. The larger led lights all fit different depending which model too
    It is VERY tight, potentially extremely frustrating and you’ll beat up your hands but Also couple screws (10mm bolt under the hood stops that you pull off) that are extremely easy to drop into engine bay then your gonna be in a worse spot.
    After going through all this on couple fusions , I started taking the bumper PARTLY off,
    Basically remove all the screws and clips along the front / fender liners. Pop bumper off slightly, disconnect some connections, and then there is two bolts under each headlight, removing those will allow you to slide headlights completely out after unplugging . Take off majority of headlight mount too ofc.
    Sounds like a lot but it took me less time overall due to ease of changing all lights at once when it’s out. The amount of time it CAN take using the other method along with higher chance damaging something too forcing stuff in small space.
    Changing the 194 led running lights at same time recommended as well. Or they will be on and mixing with the light from leds. If that bothers you anyways.

    • @ephrimkuzmitski709

  • @RellyOhBoy
    @RellyOhBoy 10 місяців тому +1

    Seems like Ford kept screwing around with the front of the engine bay on the early 2nd Gen Fusions. I had to change the low beam bulbs on my 15 Titanium about a year or so ago because the oem halogens finally crapped out. Not a difficult task just frikkin tedious. If I recall, I only had to remove the top fasteners and the wheel well fasteners to pull the top of the bumper cover out just enough to get the light housings out. I believe Ford slightly modified the forward upper brace on the 16 and up to allow just enough room to fit your hands in there to change the bulbs without all the dumb shit. I think they purposely shoe-horned the damn motor and all the components into the engine bay to make things harder for DIY'ers to work on hoping to force a visit to the stealership service dept.

However, since changing the bulbs is more complicated than the invasion of Normandy, I'm not looking to do it again for a long time. Will the LED bulbs last? Any idea if they are DOT legal?
