Yeah maybe, but Paul always hams it up in front of the camera. You can tell George is barely able to contain his displeasure at having to play a "Beatle" again.
@@deemika I think Paul is just like that. I knew a guy in school with a similar temperament - always in a good mood, and sometimes that thing can get on your nerves. But it was George who invited them.
@@progmeup True. But George had progressed - mentally & spiritually - far beyond "Beatlemania" and couldn't be bothered to partake in a 3-Beatle Reunion unless it took place at his mansion.
This video was shot at Friar Park, which was George Harrison's home. George loved the ukulele and had many of them. Tom Petty said that he and George used to stay up all night playing ukuleles together. When the Beatles split up George Harrison released the first solo album of the ex-members, which immediately shot to the number one billboard slot around the world. Same thing with his next few albums. With Lennon gone, Paul actually asked George if he wanted to write some songs together. Obviously that didn't happen so we know what George's answer was, although I am sure that negative answer was delivered with humor and love, because that was George and because these guys really did love each other. And before anyone gets too down on Paul, when George was dying of cancer he heard about a new treatment at UCLA, and it was Paul who put up the cash for a very private and very expensive home in L.A. so George could be near his treatments. Paul, really a modest guy, would never say anything about it, I learned about it from an interview with Olivia Harrison.
The hate Paul receives from so called beatles "fans" is disgusting. When you look at the facts, it seems there is nothing he wouldn't do for the ones he loves. I mean, just look at how he looked after lennons first son. The man is a beautiful human being.
Um, no, not quite: "George Harrison released the first solo album of the ex-members" John privately announced he was leaving the Beatles mid-September 1969 (and recorded nothing further for the Beatles), but it was kept a secret for 7 months, when Paul spilled the beans the following April after some bad blood (Klein, Spector, the others "telling" Paul to delay his solo debut album to make room for LET IT BE, after he'd already delayed it for Ringo's debut solo album). 1969.12.12 John LIVE PEACE IN TORONTO 1969 1970.03.27 Ringo SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY 1970.04.17 Paul MCCARTNEY 1970 05.08 Beatles LET IT BE 1970.09.25 Ringo BEAUCOUPS OF BLUES 1970.11.27 George ALL THINGS MUST PASS 1970.12.11 John JOHN LENNON/PLASTIC ONO BAND John had released 3 solo hit singles prior to ATMP: "Give Peace a Chance", "Cold Turkey", and "Instant Karma".

Great friends? The only one who enjoyed it was Ringo. Just look at George's face, to intuit his tiredness. Paul was urged to sign peace with the remaining Beatles, and not be like the one that ended the group.
@@coleccionartestore2949 You obviously know nothing about the Beatles. They had their disagreements, but they did love each other and you can see it if you have the heart and eye to know what you are looking at. And John was the one who broke the group up, even though Paul made it official. George was always a disinterested type after the break-up as he preferred to live in the moment, but numerous interviews (of him and his wife) showed that he appreciated the legacy and whole heartedly joined in the Anthology project, although two new songs were about his limit. The fact that he hosted the group in this clip says a lot.
@Me, Also Me That's quite an over reaction isn't it? Are you always so hyper sensitive? A normal person would just realise they made a mistake and accept it.
There's a great string shop in New York called Mandolin Brothers that sells very high end, vintage string instruments. A friend of mine worked there in the 80's and talked about Harrison just walking in one day and playing a bunch of ukes, then buying a couple. The guy said he had to fight his fan-boy urges really hard. Everyone was cool, though, and just let him hang around. He was very quiet and unassuming.
I love Ring's drumming style. He is always, consistently milliseconds behind the beat and it adds so much! Its such an original drumming style. Ringo is highly underrated for his contributions to all of the Beatles' songs, God bless 'im... He is still with us.
james woody so true! And the other Beatles always said that his playing was crucial to the band. They couldn’t even hear themselves at Shea Stadium. They could only hear Ringo’s beat.
I always hate when Ringo takes a hit about his drumming. Its from those that don't know. He was the perfect drummer for the Beatles. Just like Watt is for the Stones. No other drummer would have worked for the Beatles. Imagine Moon or Bonham trying to play for the Beatles. No, Ringo knew exactly what he was doing.....and he did it so well.
I disagree that they look like they hate Paul... nonsense.... Ringo is happy to be with them, George is always understated and Paul is his usually bubbly self. It looks like they had fun and their individual musical genius shines through. And yes, Ringo was the absolute backbeat with Paul for the Beatles... unique and brilliant, brilliant drummer
in the early vids notice that Paul always defers to John and enjoys when John gives him a nod...all the way though Hey Jude...so get over it, you haters, they were buddies and went through more than most of us will go through in several lifetimes......
They had a bond that could never be undone. Beyond everything, even death. True love and care for one another. "All my loving" for John, Paul, George and Ringo.
But it was a myth that they were four from start to finish. They were five in total altough not at the same time. John, Paul, George, Ringo and last member in William.
Just imagine that reunion with John. It’s great to see Paul, George and Ringo singing together, but there is something sad in the atmosphere because one is missing.
Yeah I think this is why this was the only time they got together to make some music for a bit. Paul said that John would be the one who always showed up late to the recording sessions, and to see that he isnt there and knowing he won't be is just sad in a way. I think it reminded them of John.
@@boataxe4605 come on, Yoko never was my kind of person but to put the blame on her that the Beatles broke up is bollocks. John had enough to be a beatle and George was not that happy as well.
How on earth can any of you call yourself Beatles fans if you claim to hate McCartney? If you hate anyone of them then you can't say you're a Beatles fan!
Absolutely - every group has to have a leader to hold them together and keep them on a path. Those who whine about Ringo's drumming or Paul assuming the role of boss simply betray their own lack of love for the group as a whole and their music.
At 5:13 you really see Paul and George enjoying each others company and making music together. And while they for sure had there public squabbles. They truly thought of each other as brothers and like all siblings you fight and make up. And just this performance really showed that after 37 years they still had that bond even till death when Paul bought a house for George to stay in while he was getting chemo. They had a true brotherly friendship and just that little end of the video really shows that love they had for each other even if it was sometimes sour : )

It's hard to comprehend that these guys just casually jamming with acoustic guitars like some local get together where responsible for changing music and culture like no other artist or band before them, they were phenomenal.
I feel like that's what they must have loved about this. Just being able to remove all the pretense of their achievements and "get back" to being some dudes who just loved to play.
George Harrison was one of the best guitar players to ever live. There wouldn't have been a Beatles without him! His catchy riffs in Beatle songs helped form rock music to what it is today. The most talented Beatle! Good call John Lennon.
George, as lead guitar player, was an integral part of the Beatles. But Paul was the best songwriter, singer and musician in the band. And he led the band from Sgt. Pepper onward, as Ringo confirmed, saying that The Beatles would've done half as many albums without Paul pushing them all.
Just few years before George's death. It's beautiful and very lucky for us they filmed this gathering. 😊😊😊😊 Rip George &John Bless you & be well Ringo & Paul.😊😊😊😊

Most people today will never fully realize just how extremely popular and extremely famous the Beatles were in their time circa 1960's. John, Paul George and Ringo, the "fab" four.
Notice how Ringo plays the snare - just barely behind the groove - to spread it out and make it bigger - instead of rushing the groove like most drummers do. This is part of what makes him great.
So nice seeing them laid back & enjoying each others company. Listening to them just fooling around with some light hearted tunes makes you wonder about all the totally mind boggling music that they made as the Beatles! Especially considering that they were only together as a cohesive band for a very short time period. Hands down the best rock band of all time........ RIP John & Geroge.

God, it's good to see + hear these three gentlemen together...I just thank God I was alive and aware of the Beatles during their heyday. Listening to their music for over 50 years, and I will until my time is over on this earth. 🎶🇬🇧🎸🥁
Just the sweetest/ saddest video. Ringo says at the end " I really enjoy hanging out with you guys" and sincerely means it. Paul pats him on the back in a very boomer, Northern man emotionally reticent way.( and says , I think " ahh chutchie face") I believe if this reunion were to happen today 2020, with all four of them, there would be long tight hugs and wet slobbery kisses. Those four men LOVED each other. I saw a video of Mick and Keef recently where they were reminising about the 60s and living in their flat in London. They were so adorable together. I so wish Paul and John could've had a moment like that as old men reminiscing.. Ahh well in heaven I suppose ❤
They wouldn't have been. It was paul who wrote more than 1/2 of the Beatles tunes even though they are listed lennon/McCartney. Paul did most of Sgt. Pepper, and had the idea to (be a different band) it was Paul who held the group together after Brian died and John was on heroin. And the all said it was Paul who kept getting them all back in the studio to work always like a business. So without Paul, there would be no Beatles.- I think you can only say that about Ringo and George even though it's hard and they're both great and they added a lot I think those are the only two that maybe you could switch one of them out and it still would have been the Beatles
If REAL Paul McCartney had been in this video of instead "Sir Paul" (William) there would have been much better chemistry and jams. Instead we got a "reunion" with no love or chemistry.
It's such a shame that George was only alive for another 7 and a half years or so after this before he died (RIP George x) - George Martin said that when he met the Beatles he had this feeling like he didn't want them to go away, I get this feeling when just watching this clip, that was one of the biggest appeals of The Beatles, you just wanted more of them - imagine what it would've been like with John Lennon there as well!! For me they'll always be the greatest XXX
he had mixed feelings about the reunion without John. They scrapped working on a third song for the Anthology. He wanted to leave after the first jam in this video. They were suppose to jam and record more but ended up sitting outside with the ukeleles and doing the casual thing
George is quiet because he sees McCartney steamrolling and overpowering the situation. the longstanding alienation between them is immediately in the room and George is waiting for a humility and spontaneity from Macca that just isn't going to happen. this isn't brain surgery... watch that Metallica movie some kind of monster... the Beatles would have needed months of dealing with each other to get back in a studio or on a stage for constructive music making again.george was already po'ed at his dealings in the music industry and here he is 7 years after his last real attempt at a major solo project not feeling much better and McCartney is still being McCartney.. there is nothing here of the Beatles magic.

Well... it is just the fact that George and Ringo were reunited with "Sir Paul" (William) and this is just a charade. Too many people hype this up as "Fab three" because they do not understand that Bill was only with them from late 1966-1970.
No sabemos realmente cuantas veces se habrán reunido (como en esta ocasión) a disfrutar de la gran amistad que los unía y por supuesto a disfrutar de lo que sabían hacer magistralmente!!! Música!!! Excelente video!! Tom thank you very much !!
Take notes kids. This is how great bands are put together. Good jam sessions with good buddies. It’s the fame, egos and fortune that destroys it over the years as time goes on. It unfortunately cost Johns life. We miss the jam sessions too Ringo. We miss THE BEATLES. R.I.P John and George.
Except that William, George and Ringo never were good friends. William became a new bandmate under very strange and dark circumstances (JPM's death late 1966) so it is hard to judge "Billy Shears" and "Fab two" for lacking chemistry in this video. So i disagree 100 procent that this is "how you do it". Beatles did the wrong thing late 1966. And as only Ringo is still alive 2020 from the Fab four glory (touring) years it is hard to pretend that everything went well with The Beatles... RIP James Paul McCartney, RIP John Lennon and RIP George Harrison. "Shea stadium in America 65 ? Before my time"-"Sir Paul" (ON camera)
They still sound the same! I'm so glad this was caught on film! Even though John wasn't with them physically, he was with them in spirit. I'm so glad that they got to do this with George... before he went to join John 7 years later.
With Peter Jackson's documentary, alot of us are probably finding these youtube archives of random beatles. in the past couple of weeks I have fallen in love with all four. growing up, Ringo was always in the background, just the drummer, almost like the dumb blond. Seeing him in the documentary, he is deep. He is funny, He is sweet, he is fricking smart and one hell of a musician. I always took drums for granted. Now I am listening to every Beatles song I own and the drums are standing out almost as solo. We are in the 2020's where cynicism and just the disgrace of the last decade reeks. Feeling the energy of these men, feeling their sweetness, their love for each other, the history they share understated but palpable here. Yes, I miss George, I miss John. But let's celebrate Paul and Richard Starkey. They are carrying a torch of untainted earthy enduring and authentic love. I can't believe John was far afield when these three got together. They are simply put - brothers. in the best sense of the word.
It is a myth that they were four from start to finish. They were FIVE, altough not at the same time. John, Paul, George, Ringo and last member in: William.
The fact that this "hanging out" of the lads happened, make me happy. I hope Paul and Ringo are very close today. BTW Paul´s and Geroge´s voice blend heavenly and prefectly beautiful. Massive Love for each and all of them.
To break your naive Disney-fantasy: George only did this for the money, not because he enjoyed the company of controlfreak "Sir Paul" (William). This was not a real reunion considering Harrison is the only one of theese three men having started out in The Quarrymen. This was only "Billy Shears" with "Fab two". A charade without love or chemistry. Ringo can not be so close with William in theese days since he ignored William's fake birthday this year on Instagram and instead promoted his own birthday. If you love each and everyone of them, then get into your head that they were FIVE in total (altough not at the same time): John, Paul, George, Ringo and last member in: William.

Brothers, friends, family and love. This is The Beatles.
They were not brothers. "Sir Paul" (William) did not even count as a real Beatle. Hence Georges comments about "Fab...Fab three".
@MrLizardisle Yes -- You are so right about that.
The hate Paul receives from so called beatles "fans" is disgusting. When you look at the facts, it seems there is nothing he wouldn't do for the ones he loves. I mean, just look at how he looked after lennons first son. The man is a beautiful human being.
@MrLizardisle Boy, you ain’t kidding. Can you imagine?
Um, no, not quite: "George Harrison released the first solo album of the ex-members"
John privately announced he was leaving the Beatles mid-September 1969 (and recorded nothing further for the Beatles), but it was kept a secret for 7 months, when Paul spilled the beans the following April after some bad blood (Klein, Spector, the others "telling" Paul to delay his solo debut album to make room for LET IT BE, after he'd already delayed it for Ringo's debut solo album).

Great friends? The only one who enjoyed it was Ringo. Just look at George's face, to intuit his tiredness. Paul was urged to sign peace with the remaining Beatles, and not be like the one that ended the group.
They just go through some standards that they played over and over - before they rose to world stardom.

"I like hangin` out with you guys." -- Ringo has such a good heart.
They could only hear Ringo’s beat.
ringo has always been my favorite. not just for the drumming but also for his songs.
It's his left hand on a right handed kit
I always hate when Ringo takes a hit about his drumming. Its from those that don't know. He was the perfect drummer for the Beatles. Just like Watt is for the Stones. No other drummer would have worked for the Beatles. Imagine Moon or Bonham trying to play for the Beatles. No, Ringo knew exactly what he was doing.....and he did it so well.
He was John's first choice for those early solo tracks...Ringo and Klaus V. On bass. Just listen to the song "Oh Well". Swampy!!!

They had a bond that could never be undone. Beyond everything, even death. True love and care for one another. "All my loving" for John, Paul, George and Ringo.

I love Ringo's drumming. Understated and in the pocket.
Paul is a musician of rare and unique talents. Can't imagine what the Beatles might have been without him.

@@robertsaul234He was stabbed in the chest, wasn't he? I think that caused one of his lungs to collapse (?)
George was an incredible ukulele player!
George is quiet because he is very serious when jamming with his old mates.
because he was bored.
He is always quiet
he had mixed feelings about the reunion without John. They scrapped working on a third song for the Anthology. He wanted to leave after the first jam in this video. They were suppose to jam and record more but ended up sitting outside with the ukeleles and doing the casual thing
Just do the short version. Lol.
George and Paul harmonizing again. It's been a long time,😇
"Sir Paul" (William) never played with George in his youth.
@@olskzeri2723 They went to the same school, hung out, snuck off to play guitar. Paul is NOT William.

It was not a reunion. It was just "Billy Shears" with FAB two.

I am elated that George, Paul, and Ringo played as good buddies.
Check out guitar George, he knows all the chords
As time goes by, they're still the best of the best
Cream de la Cream
I wish Paul and George had recorded some song's then they did this. All the Beatles harmonized so amazingly
They could make music with anything, and still sounds like a hymn. Geniuses!
Great to see this again. Beyond being the Beatles to just 3 old friends hanging out together having a good time with no BS or pressure. Just enjoying each others company. 👍✌️
Paul; "If this goes well, maybe i can talk them into a tour"
Ringo; "Im having fun! Peace & love"
George; "When is this over?"
**William.
There never was talk about touring. William only did the rooftoop concert when he was a member in Beatles.
George only did this for the money.
@@olskzeri2723 lmao what a dumbass.

@@olskzeri2723 actually there were a lot of rumors, a reunion, possibly a few shows, I just remember I kind of fading in and nothing. I sincerely think if John would have lived they would have done something in some capacity, at the very least probably Live Aid.
George had a very serious look at times, don't read too much into his expression.
If John were still with us, this is exactly what they would have done. A back to the basics acoustic set, perfect!.
This is lovely. 😊❤️ I’m watching this in 2020.
Well... it is just the fact that George and Ringo were reunited with "Sir Paul" (William) and this is just a charade.
Too many people hype this up as "Fab three" because they do not understand that Bill was only with them from late 1966-1970.
@@olskzeri2723 piss off
me too
Paul bossy? George quiet, showing he didn’t want to be there? Come on. Paul was being Paul and George was George.
George was always quiet, John and Paul were the driving force behind the Beatles..
@Greg Hubbard whoosh
And Ringo being a complete Ringo!!! Joins in and brings it all together.
@Joy Stinson they did the Anthelogy because George needed the money
Redrum nothing says a Beatles fan like insulting a member of The Beatles
Those were the days. I love the Beatles.
No sabemos realmente cuantas veces se habrán reunido (como en esta ocasión) a disfrutar de la gran amistad que los unía y por supuesto a disfrutar de lo que sabían hacer magistralmente!!! Música!!!
Excelente video!!
Tom thank you very much !!
It would have been so nice if all four together, just happy together. RIP! JOHN, RIP! GEORGE. ❤THE BEATLES
The real Paul McCartney was not with them. This is only "Billy Shears" with Fab two.
The best band for the eternity. I Cried seeing Beatles together again
They were not together again. This is only "Billy Shears" with "Fab two". A charade without either love or chemistry.
@@olskzeri2723 I mean 3 Beatles together
"Billy Shears" with "Fab two" was not a real reunion. And only George Harrison of theese three man had played in The Quarrymen.
@@olskzeri2723 the four that we know, the four who became the beatles, are john paul george and ringo. we do not know william. sorry.
@@olskzeri2723
'William' is a figment of your over heated imagination.
Thanks for everything lads.
I had been waiting for this reunion for years! I can't remember if this was broadcast on TV, but I'm glad that I got to see it here on UA-cam!
I could listen to these guys at my home, all day 😕
its something magical around that guys, they just touch an a music and it become a masterpeaces , even rehearsals
25 long years ago. Miss you George.
