Zipper wax exists. Just fyi. There's also backpack "strap gummies" to help the thing not slip off if you really need it. I have a Tactix 1 for EDC, but before that I had an OG 5.11 Rush 24 for like 12+ years. It's been retired to BOB status, still in perfectly intact, functioning condition with paracord, carabiners and grimlocks all on it for reinforcement and handling / utility mods. I think the whole point of packs like this is that they grow with you, with just the slightest bit of TLC. Plus the way that they break in and very slowly wear out is literally the most gratifying thing about owning them. It's like the anodization on a flashlight that's been in and our of your pocket for a decade... a thing of beauty to be celebrated, for going the distance by your side. Let's be honest... the fraying on the lasercut molle is some sexy shite right there. Enjoy it. And thanks for showing me a glimpse of my own future with this pack.
I just got this bag. Great bag so far. Even though your video is 3 year old: Yeah, the zipper thing, you can get different zipper pulls, which I did right away. I got one where you can just easily insert your finger in it. On that horizontal strap (~6:37), I just got rid of that. Also, that plate in the back, I also took it out. The 2 velcro bags, I also removed them - however, I wished they made a compartment bag with zipper identical to what they have at the bottom in that same compartment.
I can't remember exactly what I used, maybe bar soap, to lubricate the zippers but they were stil rough to open. However I noticed my newer packs like the 3 Day plus is much easier to open. I wish First Tactical had put those improved zippers on my bag:/ But it is still a well made pack.
Hello bro, mine got a bit of seperation of the layers in some of the laser cut molle webbings. Does yours have that also? Been using mine for months only.
“Smooth” zippers are not always great. When they are “rough” like that they don’t come undone easily. Also,it’s a good idea to wax your zippers every so often. Sounds like you need a sling bag, my guy.
Yes, it is durable and overall it has a lot of great features. But like I said, the comfort and zippers were just getting to me and it summer and I really wanted to run with something lighter. Now having said that this really does does feel more comfortable with heavier loads. With heavier loads I really appreciated the extra size of the frame and straps even. If FT ever comes out with a 2.0 version of this that fixes my complaints then I might happily go buy another one:)
Actually I did. It was nice looking and even well crafted, but it had a few features that's just didn't work for me. It was always falling over. I would like to check it out again when a 2.0 version comes out with a few tweaks. Thanks for commenting.
Another reviewer mentioned that, as well. I will probably only run the admin gear set on the front of mine, with the two banger and/or utility set on the inside wall.

My bag looks different. I think they made some improvements with the rear padding and my bar opens easy.
I agree with you, great organization, very well thought but quite uncomfortable. Zippers not smooth but in my opinion not a big deal
Here’s a tip: put a couple dabs of oil on the zippers and they will be as good as new.

Thinking about picking up the Ghost pack, do you know what the minimum length is for the waist belt?
Sorry, I don't know the minimum length exactly. What I do is it has lots of belt webbing. So for a very slim person it might have too much webbing.
Why ?it's looks good.i feel it's can run for a next years
