Cannae Legion is a great value and built well, although it just went from 80 to a hundo. Got my son that pack a year ago and its really nice for the money.
Possibly the Camelbak Motherlode or Sparta Military Backpacks. A comparison video between First Tactical 1 Day + v the Camelbak Motherlode would be interesting. There are not many review videos for the Camelbak packs.
I appreciate that. The few I have are genuine, loyal, and committed subscribers willing to be their best selves. Unfortunately, not many care for that and that's fine. I will earn my growth and improve where needed over time. I appreciate you and your support for sure. Thank you!!
Well thought out and detailed review on this backpack. I love a good backpack as I typically convert them to photography bags to get multiple uses from them. 👍
Great in depth review. A couple of cons was the quick access pocket and the mesh pockets. The laptop sleeve didn't look like it had much padding. But, all in all a great review look forward to more reviews from you.
Excellent review. Subscribed. This is a great pack. But You pointed out a few cons which i do agree. The admin pouch should have a mesh pocket for small items or cards. The side should inckude a pocket for urban everyday bottle holder. I dont need a tactical secure water bottle holder all the time. The optional first tactical bottle pouch is huge and makes the bag look very wide. The laptop compartment has no foam bottom but the video on their side tells us to add one on our own shall we need it. Also for the rain cover bottom. I have done that but i wish they included the foams so i dont have to cut one. The optional waist belt is awesome but it costs. Its very comfy and i highly recommend it for a pack of this size. You have pretty much covered the pros and i do agree. Thanks for the review.
Have the non-tactix half day pack. I have beat that bit@h and its done great for the last 2 years. Just normal ware so far except for the foam on the back, that has worn a lil more, and i burnt parts of it so that might have added to its ware. The small pack is hard to squeeze a rifle in with the 36 inch sleeve. Im sure the larger packs are easier. Love the handles and the yoke system with handle works great. I put a hard card in the bottom pocket to add some form and make it stand better. Its been great for my use... first aid, firearms, and ammo... For the 80 i spent, i got my moneys worth.
That is a cool story. I did read this somewhere but not in detail. I do know that Corey (back pack designer) has been in the business for years and knows a lot about backpacks. I wish someday to join forces and design my own bag.
Hey Gabe, I hope you have time for a quick question: That bottom pocket on the Tactix… is it big enough to maybe insert a piece of closed-cell foam, like from a yoga mat, or something, to provide some padding to the bottom of the rear compartment for a laptop? I hope what I'm asking makes sense. Thanks for your time, brother.
Yes and no. Yes you can fit a small piece of foam, a small gym towel, wet wipes (may need a little force if its a lot). No to the laptop padding. It wont be able to reach the rear pocket since it is its own compartment and opens from the bottom. I will say that you could use a laptop sleeve that offers padding. The compartment is big and thick enough to hold both (laptop and sleeve). Warning though: the back pipe and plastic may place pressure onto the laptop or tablet. Especially if your bag is fully packed. Personally, I don't carry my laptop with this bag. If I had to, I would remove the aluminum pipe and carry a laptop sleeve. Hope this helps.
@@GabeCuello Thank you very much for this detailed answer, and for being so quick about it. You're a gentleman, and I really appreciate your time. That answered my question and then some. Cheers!

@@GabeCuello You're welcome. Looking forward to the video and I'm glad you're enjoying it. I can't decide which size to get. Thought about the half day plus for my under seat flight bag and bouncing back and forth between the other two for bush craft and shooting bag combined. Glad to help.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to comment and watching this video. Yes! Rush 24 2.0 vs. Tactix 1Day plus will be out soon. So be on the look out for that one. Anything you want me to cover in that video? Unfortunately, the 'Specialist' wasn't on my radar but if First Tactical reaches out, sends it for review, yo, I got you lol. These are my new favorite thing. I am $aving up for the 27L Tactix half day which will be most certainly what I'm looking for.
@@GabeCuello I think what you've been doing so far has been great: lots of detailed shots of the useable space and pockets so that people can better visualize their use-case. Something that could be interesting in the comparison is using two lenses to rate the packs: EDC/Office and Rucking, as I'm sure viewers from each camp will end up looking for your vid! Keep it up man, good luck!!

Hey Gabe! Quick question for you - how well do you feel that bottom pass-through compartment zipper will stand up to the ruck plate you're using? Thanks in advance!
Hey! The packs zippers (bottom of hook and hang through) has held well so far. I havel gone as far as adding 60lbs in this compartment alone and no issues as of yet.
@@GabeCuello Sorry in advance for all the specific questions - but your videos have actually gotten me into rucking, and I had a First Tactical bag in mind for a while - Do you feel the weight distribution on those plates sits too low, or does in aluminum / curved support of the pack mitigate this? Thanks again!
@@maybejae hey no worries, I get it and am pleased to hear that you are getting in rucking! 1) Weight load is balanced to near perfect if placed in "Hook and Hang" compartment. Max load tested there was 65lbs and had no issues. Note, I simply rucked small hills and flat terrain, meaning more motion and bumps or light runs may change this outcome. 2) Placing max load on Main Compartment works fine HOWEVER, ONLY if you add your own bottom straps to ensure the weights (assuming it's ruck plates) don't just drop downward but remain in a secure position. This also means not bumping on your tailbone as much. From experience, the tighter the pack is and how close to your body it is ("as one unit") you will have a comfortable experience. Of course, your build and strength overall matter too so play with loads and adjustments as you "grow". 3) I don't ruck without a waist belt, meaning, if you choose not to, the load will be balanced but mostly on upper body and will eventually fatigue you. I have tested 30lbs with no belt and after 45mins, I began to feel tired up there (i.e., traps and neck). This is all without the metal tube in backside btw. Personally, I like it without it because I don't mind some flex when taking pack off or putting it on. The bag is still sturdy without it but not as secure with it on. That aluminum pipe is great and keeps bag in check so I would say to try both and go for feel.

This has replaced both my Rush 24 and 12, I think it looks better and has more features. For example I like the 4 molle columns on the sides vs only 3 on the Rush 24. I've been thinking about buying the Tactix Half-day backpack but for now I stick with this, even if it's a lite too big sometimes.
The half day is a great option for everyday edc use. I have both now and will do a comparison video soon. By the way, good on you for making that decision. I appreciate your support to the channel.

I got that bag, a new one a company asked me to review (cool, I know.. I'm growing lol) some shoes and more bags. But yes, I got you. Stay tuned and thanks for reaching out, motivator.
Before you do, look at their 1/2 day plus. Actually, I'm gonna have to make a comparison video for this bag because I made a mistake to buy the one day vs 1/2 day. Both offer the same features. But the 1/2 day plus just looks and feels ideal for my everyday to day encounters. The 1 day plus is by far the best travel pack. The best. Didn't get it for that but man, I love traveling light and organized.
Too bad it has those drain holes! Now the fact that it is made of water resistant nylon is totally useless. Because of those drain holes water, mud and dirt will get into the bag. It means you can never put it on the ground.
Hey there. To go over your comment, this is inaccurate. The Tactix Backpack has drainage holes, yes, but on the bottome sides. So, when you set the pack down, no water will enter unless it's an inch or so deep. I have tested it on my "Rush vs Tactix" and demonstrate how these packs perform in great detail.
As soon as something calls itself "tactical", I know that it's overpriced and of inferior design. I particularly enjoy the non-standard molle webbing and the highly visible stitching.
