"Never disappoints" ?? Hell he doesn't, he's a damn liberal jackass. You'd think he'd be more conservative being from Indiana but he isn't. Great songwriter and an amazing ear for sound/tune/harmony....no one else has brought so many different instruments to the stage and a recording studio. Too bad he's such a jackass.
I love all of John Mellencamp songs. You can't just choose one. However it's the obscure songs that I love the most. Minutes to memory is one of my favorites as well as Jackie Brown and No expectation
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you DON’T have integrity, nothing else matters. John Mellencamp has integrity. Lots of it. Thank you John. You’re a real treasure.🌸
My son just took me to see him in Sugarland Tx. outside of Houston when I was there visiting! I was so happy I was crying to laughing so many memories so many memories. I first met John on Scarecrow ended leaving marrying , having many years. with one of the crew. We lost him 3 yrs. ago...I have grown up with John since being that young 22 yr. old in 86' I needed to say goodbye in my way, this was it. Seeing Mellencamp remembering so many good times in the past, leaving bad memories to rest and looking forward to the next tour. It was only the 2nd Farm Aid looking at how we all have grown, how much he has done for so many people's lives it just doesn't get any better than that! I'm so blessed to have taken my son to his concert back in the day now he took me. The Mellencamp way his music extends to all generations, he says he is lucky I say "he is a genius!" Definitely a legend, I just wished I had gotten to say Hi , those days on the bus will never be forgotten. Thanks for your beautiful lyrics they heal as much as they made me dance ! Life goes on...
I've been a fan since I first heard him sing I've ain't even done with the night that was in 1981 For my 60th birthday my daughter got me 3 tickets to see him on July 6 in Philly!!! ❤️
In 1981 or 80 (could've been 78/79) I met him... Lied about my age !! Why, I haven't a clue (but it was his 1st time in #Atlanta - had an #amazingtime 😘)
I saw him last night in NH. The guy still has it. It was an awesome show. He is a great songwriter in many ways an american treasure, and could be considered the voice of a generation.
This amazing man is from Seymour Indiana Right up the road. From jeffersonville Indiana I've been a fan from day one Hes one of the finest singer song writer's ever Still kicking it john
The old is new and the new is new, now ... then the new will be old .... and then new, again .... :) the generational master-piecing musical merry-go-round of my life/our lives ..... HAPPY! your greatest body of work .... contributing to our happiness in this fragile human life! YOU & your glorious band, contribute to our happiness, we feel HAPPY .... and you teach us good life long lessons along the way, too, to boot! ... Youza becomin' a sweet old sage, Melly :)
This album is very good John. You are still a nice looking man. My favorite album was made in 1982. Good luck with your next album. Thank you for coming to New Hampshire.
I waited for 35 years, finally saw him at the Johnny Mercer Theatre in Savannah in 2009. We had 3rd row seats and some asshole stood up the whole time, even holding up a sign saying "I wanna dance with you." That was when he would invite an audience member up on stage with him. He wanted to dance with me. My husband asked that douchebag repeatedly to sit down since we paid $235 apiece for tickets. After that show, Mellencamp forbad cell phones from his shows. Next night, I forget what city it was, he sailed one over the balcony. I understand that completely since there's such a thing as intellectual property, and I personally wouldn't want MY mug all over the internet without my permission. Rock on, John! I'm going to see him again before I leave this world.
I use a wheelchair[power] and the handicapped area is the most expensive area at concert venues so i'll be sitting in the 3rd row and there's always some one who can stand standing in front of me
I believe the point is to stand and dance. He paid as much for those tickets. And I'm sure John would rather have people up and dancing. I'm seeing him next week and I will be standing and dancing the whole time. That's what music is for.
PS We love the "juvenile" songs because we were young when we fell in love with them. Jack and Diane Come on! Love it till I die...those simple lyrics I've danced to so many times, ROCK in the USA doesn;t get any better.
John Cougar, John Cougar Mellencamp, John Mellencamp.....Fan since day 1...... concerts in Vancouver, BC. in the 80’s and the outside amphitheater called The Gorge in George , WA. during the 90’s where I signed a release to be interviewed by his film crew. Grandview is my fave new song of John’s.
Oh if anyone is selling their farm aid ticket please message me!? it Will be my last concert & I'd be so grateful!! I'm close to being in a wheelchair ( so if I can travel one more time this would make me so Happy) I'm in Canada 😊🇨🇦however I believe I only live once & my 3 favorite are playing! I Love you John xo !
Lisa Mendolia ..I hope you got the chance to see him. I seen him many times. Been a fan of his since I was 14 and I am now 50. He's the best musician ever 💜💙
I hope you will forgive me-But I loved him more as John Cougar--That first Album really saved me--the pain and joy in his voice just carried me along knowing he was singing about me and on behalf of me-- Hes so real--and sings to my pain--if that makes sense ?--much love for the guy mucho thanks amigos
Paper n Fire..What if I came knocking.. Go ahead make my DAY! It's just one day to talk as our lives are nearing the end. My dream is smaller now but, a talk would help to make it easier in case I die suddenly. sd
2 comments here... Fist, if I had him play a personal concert, this man would play for over 3 hours and probably 35-40 songs... so many great tunes. Second, Grandview is sooooo fucking good. :)
I stopped listening to JM when Kenny left. He was such a presence on all those albums - particularly for me Scarecrow and Whenever we wanted. I love John’s work but he needs Kenny.
cant help but notice all the bald heads and grey hair in the crowd lol, went to see Dylan a few yrs back and many were there in walkers....felt weird, but time does march on
Catlu1732 yeah I don’t do that lol my last concert was Metallica and all my friends were holding up their phones recording and I said put your phones down and enjoy the moment lol
Put your phones down ffs! recording artists live is bad enough but then some people go further and post it to youtube, the poor quality destroys their sweet music.
great but they really need Kenny Aranoff... this drummer is nowhere as good.. clunky. Maybe its the concept..the old timey feeling, with the fiddle, (which takes the guitar riffs out of the picture). I guess this is what happens when a guy gets older... and loses that real rocker edge. - but having a very old vintage kit, with the huge kick drum.. Just doesnt work in the big picture.. was it just realizing he would never get back in the pop charts. I love him anyway.. now that Petty is gone.. John needs to step up and be the king of Americana.. but he;s gotta rock it harder... now when they did the Authority Song, and Pink Houses the guitars got louder and harder... much better boys.. and the crowd started sweating too.. stick with Teles and Gretsch, lose the Dusenberg.

They should have taken in the mobile phones. I cannot understand how someone can watch a live act through a cellphone - while being there. Idiotism and no sense for carpe diem seem to go hand in hand.
Worst album yet form him. Man this was just awful. He use to be one of my favorites, but lately he is so depressing and his voice sounds like he is a Dylan want a be.
Thanks John for the all the amazing music you gave us!!
Great songwriter...up there with the very best. I've been following him for more than 30 years. He never disappoints.
Davide Battaglioli me too definitely my favorite I live in Costa Rica and don't have easy access Puravida

I love John, but the cigarette smoking is catching up with him!!
Jhon "cugar" the best!!!!
I am a Clown who's name just happens to be "Hillbilly Jim"
it would be nice if he had the band playing Jack and Diane with band than acoustic.
Pense que su hijo Speeck, lo acompañaria mas!
Wanna get past the boring chatter? MUSIC STARTS at 5:20. 😎

John is starting to sound a bit like Tom Waits... but he makes it work
lol. The video phones showing up is priceless 😂😂😂😂. . I would have done the same thing

Hi i am grace I am I believe your 4th cousin so my dad says
I'd marry him
Thankyou for cancelliing your entire Australian tour in 2016 John.
John, spit the gum out
They should have taken in the mobile phones. I cannot understand how someone can watch a live act through a cellphone - while being there. Idiotism and no sense for carpe diem seem to go hand in hand.
Tom waits
I wonder if he will long enough to regret being a chain smoker his entire life....
Didn't know he was black.
These are what? What's he saying over and over? Major ego but very good anyway.
I Love him....BUT...He should've quit something a long time ago
That guy interviewing John is distraction, from the music. And an annoying one at that
Sorry to say this, but his voice today sounds terribly stressed and hoarse...nothing like it was back in the day
Great songwriter, sucks he does not care to play other than to support his painting.
The master of ceremonies talked WAY TOO MUCH. Snore x100.
Worst album yet form him. Man this was just awful. He use to be one of my favorites, but lately he is so depressing and his voice sounds like he is a Dylan want a be.
his hair style a bit ridiculous
Aldo B shut up
THAT'S what you're paying attention to?
Time to pack it in I think.
