I'm a school administrator and I want to make this for all my teachers. That would mean 50 of them. I have 5 days before the last day of school for teachers. I hope I can do it. I received one years ago and love it.
Thank you for sharing this tutorial I will be making this for the holiday, one question is the fusible fleece what weight is this not sure what to use weight to use?
I use Pellon 987F - it's not too puffy and available online or at most fabric stores like Joann. They are great holiday gifts, stocking stuffers and "just because" gifts. Have fun!
Thank you for sharing, I like the way that you put the fused interfacing in the center, instead of on just one side as what most people seem to do. Also, you are great at explaining everything. I like seeing the 3 different sizes, my favorites are the medium & the smallest sizes. I wonder why the manufacturer, didn't add a sharp prong on the other side right in the center, I feel that this would have been a sure way to know the fabric would then be totally secure, I think that it would be a grand idea to add a bit of glue in the area, this is what I'm going to do.
@@ArtistTaraReed Thanks, I also thought of another useful idea, I always save my dryer sheets, economically these can be used instead of interfacing, just add a bit of Mod Podge or slightly watered-down white glue & let it dry, I'll just more than likely put two sheets together & cut them to the exact size that I'll be needing & they'll smell great, too.
You definitely can - I know a lot of Cricut users do that (or you can just cut it with a rotary cutter). I haven't done it myself so not sure about threads...
What is the tool called that you squeeze the hardware on with? I purchased one and one side is curved. It looks like both sides of your tool is flat. Do you have a link for it? Thanks for the video by the way!
I haven't - I got the 1" kit when I decided to give this a go and like the size. 1 1/4" wouldn't be that much different so I think you will be happy with whichever you decide on
I would love to make one of these. I have the hardware, but don't have fusible fleece. However, I have pellon 808 and pellon 926. which would be better?
I'm honestly not sure - it depends on how stiff they are and the feel you want. Wrap a piece of fabric around each and see which feel you like better when it's folded in half. Good luck!
the smallest uses a 2" x 6" piece of fabric (so about 1" wide x 3" of fabric when done) - all the sizes can be found on the blog post with the tutorial here > tarareed.com/key-fob-diy/

You can do it! Work it like an assembly line - all the cutting, then pressing, etc. you’ll be surprised. What a great administrator you are!
So did ya pull it off?
Did you pull it off?
Thanks!
Thanks ❤
You’re very welcome!
I love your tip about sewing the top together like that! Great tip...I was using tape before! Thank you.
You are so welcome!
Thank you for sharing your tutorial.

Another great budget friendly idea - thanks! ❤
Awesome video! Thank you! I will be making these for a friend of mine who will sell them for me at her craft shows!
Hope they sell well - they are perfect for that, quick and easy to make!
Awesome 🧵
Where do you get the hardware from please?
Here is my affiliate link to get the hardware and pilers on Amazon - amzn.to/3wxzTEW
Luv them!💋
Can you make these with faux leather? Do you need to use special threads?
You definitely can - I know a lot of Cricut users do that (or you can just cut it with a rotary cutter). I haven't done it myself so not sure about threads...
Is that your tag that I see stitched inside the top?? Great location!
It sure is!
@@ArtistTaraReed What size are your tags? Thank you for your video!
@@osewhoopy9253 They are 1" basically - 1¼" when folded (the logo is on both sides). After you sew them in they are 1".
What size needle did you use in your machine when making them
I usually just use a universal 90/14 needle - but make sure it is pretty new so you have a sharp needle going through all the layers. Hope that helps!
What width hardware are your measurements for?
They are 1" - I just added a link in the description

You are very welcome and there is a link in the description below the video. :)
What size hardware please?
I used 1" hardware - there is a link below the video to exactly what I used. Have fun!
Have you tried the 1 1/4" fob and do you have a preference? I can't decide between the two sizes. Thanks for the great tutorial!

How wide does my fabric need to be if I’m using 1 1/4” hardware?
You would use 2 1/2" wide instead of 2" and the same length as in the directions
Hi. My hardware slips
Off😢
Make sure that you are pressing /squeezing your pliers on the hardware tightly.
Also check the thickness of your fabric
What is the size of the smallest one?

KEYCHAINS!! Why is everyone calling them KEYFOBS!! Key fobs open your car!!
I think it’s the hardware on the end of the fabric … and maybe it’s been called that since before electronic car keyfobs? 🤷🏻♀️
