- The Aggie Band marches down Houston Street on the campus of Texas A&M University to the tune of The Ballad of the Green Berets while on their way to Kyle Field for the game against the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The band is preceded by the Corps of Cadets staff and followed by Delta Company and other non-band units of the Corps of Cadets.

So very proud of these extraordinary young people. NO other band, civilian nor military has such precision and perfection. God bless them all and watch over them 👍♥️
Perfect Marching Band Show in The US and almost everywhere, so proud for their efforts.
Not bad. A real pleasure to see so many college kids that have their heads screwed on properly. Thanks for posting.
I never get tired of watching the Aggie cadets march ! They are as it should be !
Have had them for bowl games in Shreveport. First class fans and a first class organization. .
My favorite march! Corps of Cadets , Company E-1, Athletic Company, ‘79.
Grew up in Austen but loved the Aggies for their stories traditions. Joined the Army and still think that their military style drill is THE BEST in the country.
Austen, really??
@@everettmiller2457 yessir! Ironic I know hahaha
@@GIGroundNPound I think he was teasing you about the spelling.
Austin.
It would seem, by this video, there are STILL decent universities in this country. Kudo to the Aggie Band, of Texas A&M!
We're so proud of out Son-in-Law who played tackle for Texas A&M, was a member of the Corps of Cadets, graduated and is now a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army! Gig 'Em, Aggies!
Nice! Please thank your son-in-law for his service and sacrifice.

Gives me chills down my spine. Really cool! 😎
Always Awesome Aggies!
They just keep coming. How awesome
What a wonderful experience to see this fantastic band and the cadets I would love to see them live one day. Thanks so much for this wonderful video. Greetings from the U K as we have absolutely nothing like this at all. Chris.
Christopher Bateman glad you liked it. Have you looked into the Royal Edinburg Military Tattoo? It is the same style and closer to you.

yes we do,Queen Victoria School Dunblane Scotland for the sons and daughters of UK Armed Forces Personnel has a huge pipes and drums band and pupils wear uniform, have a look on their website, they have played at the Edinburgh Military Tatoo and others around the world.
You are looking at what America best that will defend her
I am a Canadian who went to Texas A & M and played for the Aggies as a defensive back. I was drafted by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League because I was designated as a Canadian and not an "import". I played 6 games, returning an interception for a touchdown, and broke my ankle never to play again. I will never forget the kindness love and sportsmanship of the people there. Best marching band ever, and the Ballad of the Green Beret brings tears to my eyes. 'Aggies do not lie, cheat or steal nor tolerate those that do' God bless you all. Forever in my heart. From your friends and neighbours up north. We have your back!
In a crazy world, the Corps march on. We thank you.
That looks Presidential..... with the US Flag and the Texas Flag!!!! BRAVO X BRAVO!!! Scott en Bogota, Colombia!!!
Also at one time Texas A&M was a military academy (until 1963) so the uniform is sort of a tradition..The Corps Cadets have a VERY high set of Standards academically and otherwise (Honor Code among other things)..
" An Aggie does not lie, cheat or steal. And does not tolerate those things in others"
It's been a long time, but I cogitate I quoted that correctly.
Texas Aggie Band, Artillery, "A" Battery, Class of '80.
This is why I attended.... and graduated. Respect for my country.
The Rudder Tower in the background is about the same height as the cliffs at Pointe du Hoc in Normandy that Rudder's Rangers scaled under withering German gunfire on 6 June 1944.
Spectacular Wonderful !!
NOW, THAT IS A BAND! I don't think you want to mess with ANYONE in that band and all those with them! Looks like those Texans mean business!
Pat Garrett And people say Ohio State is the best... pffft please.
A very fine sound.
Great! Respect from Belarus!
That's the Green Beret signature tune, very smart
Gig 'em, Aggies!
lovr it..
My mom and dad have been gtg my cousins live in college station
I love you Muna
These kids fit their uniforms better than the regular armed forces. That has got to say something our serviceman and women.
Minor point of order, one is not supposed to call a cadence when there is a band or drums within audible distance.
I love this music, from France, it's great to see so many Americans around their army ... (If anyone can give me the title of this music played ...)
First one was The Ballad of the Green Berets of the Vietnam Era. Been playing it since the 60's. Was there then and it still sounds good.
Agggeeeissss..

Very sharp! How do they put on a tightly fitted shirt with no buttons? Looks much better than our slightly overweight Sheriff's Deputies in SLO County, CA.
I always wondered what the color guard, or seniors with the flagged bugles, stood for, and why they go through a routine of flipping the flags before the halftime show begins. And after reading the comments below, i'm still wondering.
The seniors with the flagged bugles in fact lead the Band through the drills during the Band's performance. They are Seniors who have put hours upon hours in to merit that position.
That's one heck of a big band. But why are some in riding boots and others in low quarters?
yank1776 Seniors in the corps wear cavalry boots. Very old tradition, the boots are a point of pride. They can also wear low quarters at various times.
The fish ( freshman) wear not trim on their covers, no rank insignia, and a black belt. Cymbal players are always fish.
'Heads (sophomores) wear black braid on their covers, and a black belt ( don't ask wear the name head came from...). Usually have a pfc or corporals stripes in brass on their collar.
The 'butts (juniors....reffering to the cut of the back of the pants.) Wear a slightly different pant ( the back is peaked like a seniors boot pant, old tradition, kind of a cheeky usurpation of a seniors uniform), a white belt and white trim on their cover, and some form of sgts stripes. The bass drummers are always two 'butts.
Seniors wear black and gold trim on their cover that earned them the nickname 'zips, it looks a.little.like the teeth in a zipper. They also wear a white belt, and the iconic cavalry officers boots and pants. Their rank insignia starts at 1 circle to three, then one diamond up, which is the standard cadet rank insignia for most ROTC groups. If I remember right 3 diamonds is cadet col., and is the overall corps commander.
kyndal anne Thanks for the explanation ☺
Seniors wear boots; the others wait their turn !
Dayyy umm....There`s a bunch of em.
No joy permitted. Walking is Serious!
great group, terrible video blurred.
What is the significance of the braided rope on some of their left shoulders? Some white, some black, some over the arm, some under the arm and many without. Academic? Rank? Achievements?
Philsy1630 yes, the cords are for various awards some of the six units that make up the band have won during the previous school year. Most are worn over the shoulder but some instruments wear them under so they don’t get caught by other instruments during the tight maneuvers they will be doing during their drill they will be performing at halftime of the football game.
Thank you for the explanation.
The Penguin Shuffle set to music.
Okay, where do I sign my kid up?
Contact Admissions. They will likely forward you to the Corp Commandant. I believe highs choosers can spend a weekend with the Corp. I suggest a home game weekend. If your child protests, don't let that change your mind. He/she will later thank you.
Too sharp!!!

Corps of Cadets Class of 2012
The bugles never play?
The bugles do not have valves therefore have limited notes they can play. They cannot play a full song like the rest of the band.
Philsy1630 bugle rank doesnt play, that I've ever seen. Went to my first game at 6, graduated '08.
Philsy1630
UNBELIEVABLE.!!!
What a joke.!!!
A Rodrigues Care to expound on why, or you just going to blather about the Russians goose stepping Prussian style.
What March is this? I want the piccolo part
jack thompson Ballad of the Green Berets
I love those snare Drums.
How long has it been since the Aggie Band has played new music?
kentky95 ww 2
Doomdog, you might want to check your calendar. They do play military music but the "Ballad of the Green Berets" by Barry Sadler is Vietnam Era.
That's the Corps Staff, not student staff.
Thanks, Bryan. My thought in wording it that was was to differentiate it from the Trigon leadership but I will change it.
Those were not the cadence songs we used in the Army
That's the truth
This is Old Army, vintage 1945.

Big Band, Huge student body
That's not a band, that's an army! Aggies, the only university in the world (military academies excepted) with its own army. I suppose they have tanks and artillery as well.
Scott Adler - No, they don't.
@@MrOu83 we have always had artillery. we got a tank last year. and have an airport right next to the university, but the university doesnt what to deal with the liability of owing planes.

Reminiscent of youth marches in 30's Germany.
there should be some serious ass kicking , complete sections on the wrong foot, cmon, and i love this band
You talking about the corps turds or the band? The band was in step unless I misses something.
No-one ever claimed corps turds could march
arf shesaid
WHAT A BUNCH OF AMMATORS.!!!!!
A Rodrigues troll troll troll your boat...
i guess thats correct, its the first and lead color party, right out front on the wrong friggin foot, i kinda thought they would be considered part of the band
arf shesaid lead element is "corps staff", which is the student admin side. Then the corps colors, then the band. I think that's one of the veteran companies right behind them (delta comp..... they're combat veterans that have joined the corps to earn commissions and degrees).
What they're actually doing here is marching in before a football game. The band enters the stadium and passes in review, then goes into their section and plays while the outfits step.back off to pass in review. The mounted cavalry unit is the last into the stadium, along with the field howitzer and caisson they have for uh... practical reasons.
The non band cadets truthfully need their assed marched off every year, they're notorious for not being able to stay in step to music. There's a large amount of rivalry between band and non band cadets, and it unfortunately shows sometimes.
No disrespect intended, the Hilter Youth Group had grey uniforms.
Very impressive but someone in the color guard should have realized that they are out of step with the lead group and with the music. Clearly no member of the color guard is a musician. I know that the average spectator will not notice but it is quite obvious to anyone with a military or marching band background. Thanks for posting this great band.
Why do some cadets wear the boots, and some don't? is it a leadership thing?
Yes, the boots are probably the best way to tell the seniors from the rest of the cadets. The cadets with the white belts but black shoes are the juniors.
Best Marching band on the planet!
The band maybe the best marching band ???? but some of the cadets behind?? well there were some dreadful marching going on. out of step, out time . It would of help if the band was split in two so you had band, cadets. band, cadets
David Marcoux - If you're into a bunch of U. S. patriotism, then this band may work for you. What they do on the field is optically pleasing, they are boring. The University of Texas Lobghorn Band is better. The Ohio State University Marching Band is better, jus.t to name a few.
not anymore The #1 Marching Band is now The Sudler Award Winning The Pride of WILDCATLAND The Kansas State University Marching Band
Benji VanDuesen- KSU. getting the Sudler Trophy does not mean they are the best college band now. That award has been presented since 1983. Many bands have received it. A band is eligible to receive the award once. If that were not the case, KSU would never have received it because the same truly elite bands would have gotten the award each year.
funny only 29 other bands have received the award and Kansas state became the 30th so that says alot
What are the songs called the aggie band play?
In my videos, the names of the songs are usually listed in the video description.
@@jamesbeaman6337 oh, wooups, thanks! :D
That's not a band that is a migration of a small village dressed up as a well playing marching band

hahahahaha its the village people :D :D
Why are some in high boots and some in shoes?
The higher boots, or just boots as most Ags call them, signify that it is they are seniors.
The easiest way to tell what year the cadets are is by their cap. The Cadet's caps have different color braids, no braid means that they are a freshman, black means they are a sophomore, white means they are a junior, and gold means they are a senior. However, the gold and black braids look really similar unless you are close, but the senior will always be in his boots so you can still tell that they're a senior.
-Nonreg from A&M
Not always in boots, but usually.
Only seniors are permitted to wear boots.
Is it because they're cadets that their marching isn't in time with each other and its sort of sloppy or is it just because American Military drill/Marching isn't that great
and who cares ? that is the question is your salary going to be lower after that or what ?
I care because i'd like to know tbh ? I'm in the Army and i would get punished if i did drill like that, Thanks
MrSixiesRock the cadets that are out of step are not bandsmen, they're from one of the corps of cadets units. Unfortunately, many of them do not put enough emphasis on drill by a wide margin, and I agree ... many of the outfits looked like crap on this March in.
Dont.mess.with.texas.
The third group of cadets marching behind the band are out of step with everyone else.
That because all the bands were at the font any one with a brain cell would of split the band in 3 and station them in the line so it help the cadets keep time
Marching in jodhpurs, riding boots and spurs? Why not a cavalry hat, too? And you can't draw a sword worn point forward.
THEY COULS DO WITH A SERGEANT MAJOR TO FINISH THEM OFF
Tubas need to play ....nothing coming out of those horns
Must be the first game of the season. Real sloppy marching from some of them, probably all Freshmen. Unlike the band that had weeks of rehearsal, a lot of the Freshmen cadets are very new to the Corps and I guarantee you they got chewed out something fierce.
Sir I agree .I'm entering my Senior year in a military Academy and I can guarantee they experience some tough PT and they were whipped into shape. It's done on our level quite sure they were whipped into shape.
Judas priest, I never did see the end of line before the video stopped. That's a powerful lot of folks.

korydwen tallec I speak Spanish well enough to understand the idea.... these are not US soldiers, they're university ROTC cadets, but thank you for tour concern.
Incidentally, how are the Germans? Finding plenty of shade down the Champs elysees latelely?
Didn't know they made uniforms that short and that wide for some. Guess there are no physical standards for being in a military corps anymore.
All very Italian looking, jackboots and chip poke hats ....... ;)
george mckee
Those where NOT jackboots, where horse ridding boots, what turn to be even a bigger joke, - marching infantry whit cavalry boots.!!!
yes, even have spurs. and riding only has 1 d, not 2 d's. ridding means something different.
Aggies are funny.
They can't even march in step (note color guard out of step with band).
HOOK 'EM HORNS!
Good grief, that is the most homoerotic march I’ve ever seen 😁😂😂😂
Far from homoerotic, they look smart and superior! Especially the ones wearing the tall riding Boots! Classy Uniform
After watch "Crazy Drummers", these guys look kinda sad looking!
Pretend army boys...
Someday several of them will be real Army (and Navy, Marine and Air Force) officers. Since this was almost a year ago, some already are.
Hey asshole! Yeah you. Texas A&M has produced more commissioned officers than any other military school. Look it up.
Very sloppy what sort of drill is this when you have such a huge band and can’t keep step? Amateur hour they need about six hours of drill and practice before they go public and for goodness sake how about a bit of uniformity in the uniforms in units! “Bloody shambles” as my RSM would have said. And “swing your arms together to the same height straight through from to rear” but with a bit more profanity and passion he was that kind of soldier.
Peter Kelly American drill does not include the British fascination with arm swinging, but I agree the drill is sloppy. Been a complaint from people for years, I don't think I've ever seen a March in where the non band corps was all in step. Fish drill team and delta (veteran) company yes, but not most of the other units.
It does usually improve once they're in front of the inspecting officer in the stadium
I compared a lot of military bands, and this one was really not good. Arrange some adviser of KyotoTachibana High School Band, and take some music lessons. I know that US has some great military music bands, but this one belongs not to them.
Byni
Jejeje...yankees...
Typical moronic UA-cam comment.
I liked the Band but the rest is imprecise and boring.
Their dressing is sloppy, out of step and nothing to be proud of
what a bunch of clown's. lol
Huge band with bad musicianship and bland uniforms. God awful tone quality, bad attacks and releases, just worse than most high schools here in CA or AZ.
