I am currently deployed to Afghanistan, I am a Marine of 15 years, and I still get on you tube to watch my beloved Aggie football, and to get my Fighting Texas Aggie Band fix, GiG Em Aggies Classs of 2007!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOP!!!! The songs bring back so many memories!!!!!!!!
I am a Canadian who went to Texas A & M and played for the Aggies as a defensive back. I was drafted by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League because I was designated as a Canadian and not an "import". I played 6 games, returning an interception for a touchdown, and broke my ankle never to play again. I will never forget the kindness love and sportsmanship of the people there. Best marching band ever, and the Ballad of the Green Beret brings tears to my eyes. 'Aggies do not lie, cheat or steal nor tolerate those that do' God bless you all. Forever in my heart. From your friends and neighbours up north. We have your back!
I graduated from Special Warfare School at Ft. Bragg in 1967, days of Gobbler Woods and C-123 night jumps, does not matter how old I am now that song makes me feel forever young. God Bless SF and all the Mike Force guys I fought with, those living and those departed.
I am not an American, but I love this song, and have done so over so many years. A true tribute to the Green Berets. Bless you all for your service to your country......!
Just stumbled across this 15 years later. Can't believe I found a video of the Aggie Band with my buddies and I in it. It's a little blurry, but I'm in boots on the near side, first trumpet behind the sax section. And good ol Darius behind me. Good memories. Miss ya'll. Whoop C/O '08
“Give me an Army of West Point graduates, and I’ll win a battle. Give me a handful of Texas Aggies and I’ll win the damn War”. - General George S. Patton
This is absolutely the most fantastic marching band around. I will make a point and see them live at the next possible opportunity. Great effort of these young musicians..keep it going and stick with tradition and traditional music. Thanks Thanks Thanks....
The nationally famous Fight'n Texas Aggie Band. They are comprised of 303 members. The Texas A&M Corps of Cadets is the largest single source of reserve military officers outside the US military branches.
That’s because Texas A&M is one of the US Senior Military Colleges which, like the Federal Service Academies (West Point, Annapolis, etc.), train officers for active duty service. The others are The Citadel, Virginia Military Institute, Virginia Tech, the University of North Georgia and Norwalk University.
if any aggie band officials read this, please consider to make some top professional dvd's and cd's with the sound that this band deserves. how about cd's or dvd's such as " aggie band plays glenn miller, aggie band plays sousa, aggie band plays american marches.etc..and guys please market these products properly. thanks again for keeping the traditional spirit going.
I had the honor of meeting Barry Sadler. I was working for the Boy Scouts of America at the time. He came to the office to arrange a fund raising event. Nice guy.
Never knew much about the Aggie band until I started watching them on UA-cam. I can honestly say I have watched dozens of University bands and these guys bar none are the best. Game day has to be really something special at A and M.

Give me a handful of Texas Aggies and I'll win a war.” I'm biased, though. If this doesn’t give you goosebumps, you are dead Most people don’t understand that Texas A&M developed more military officers for the second World War™ than anybody outside of the service academies
I am a Sooner but get goose bumps when I hear the Aggie band fire up. You guys are the best out there hands down !! I will say gig 'em as my hatred for the shorthorns runs fathoms deep.
My dad taught at Texas A&M in the early 50's after he returned from Korea. Went to my first football games back then. LOL yep I am old. All I remember was being a bored 5th grader attending because dad thought we should attend and support the Aggie team. At the time Bear Bryant was a couch and his son went to school with me. What I really remember was having to take ballroom dance class. And Coach Bryant's son was in these class. I think all either of us learned was how to stomping toes. LOL we were bored stiff 😅
Someone asked why some are wearing boots and others not. I neoeve only Seniors are allowed to wear boots, spurs, and taps. Please correct me if I am mistaken.
and on the 8th day, god created the TEXAS A&M AGGIES, he looked down and said " I HAVE CREATED THEM AND DAMN THEY ARE AWSOME ! " THE ABSOLUTE FINEASTMILITARY MARCHING BAND IN THE WORLD ! WORLD FAMOUSE ! GIG EM !
It is. The Aggie Band adds so much color and pageantry to game days that a popular Aggie saying is, "Aggies may lose on the field, but they've never lost a halftime."
Are there any recordings of his being sung? I have a small box of these records along with a box of Auburn 45 rpm records if their fight song and know nothing about them.
Can you imagine a college campus where even 1/100 of the graduating class could actually pass a personnel inspection; do the manual of arms; and, qualify with the military rifle? I don't know - it just seems wrong. If I could render that much service to my country so can they.
I am disappointed in that the show from the rear of the band towards the end of the video, one of the aggie bass horn players (second from the right) was woefully out of step TSK, TSK In any event---- best marching band in US. GIG EM!!!
@@tom8hoes Pardon me - SOUSAPHONE player. You know, those big circular brass things the guys in the last few rows are playing? That's what they're called, in case you didn't know.

One of the best looking marching bands in the country! Greetings from Utah

Great to see a military style college band and one that uses traditional parade snare drums.
That’s because Texas A&M is one of the US Senior Military Colleges which, like the Federal Service Academies (West Point, Annapolis, etc.), train officers for active duty service. Thanks for the upload! This is the first time I’ve heard the Ballad of the Green Berets used by a marching band.
I liked the theme from Patton Better in the beginning.

Certainly wouldn't see this at all those Liberal Colleges. God Bless Texas!
They would run out of safe spaces.
I`m surprised that no one mentioned the song being played when the video first starts is from "Patton" ..Remember?!?
Someone asked why some are wearing boots and others not. I neoeve only Seniors are allowed to wear boots, spurs, and taps. Please correct me if I am mistaken.
You are correct. And upperclasmen have white belts vs black (underclasmen) and a white pipe in their biders (hats).
Those boots are hand made. Today run around $1500.
Excellent video!! We would love to be able to see this in person. Thank you for posting it.

Went to 2017 Bell Bowl Football game in Charlotte, Wake Forest won over A&M in a high scoring game, but that A&M band was worth the admission.
Did you know you can the Ballad to the tune of “Tiny Bubbles”?
It is. The Aggie Band adds so much color and pageantry to game days that a popular Aggie saying is, "Aggies may lose on the field, but they've never lost a halftime."
Texas has the really good marching bands
OUTSTANDING
Best college marching band ever. Great drum majors.
Impressive to say the least!
I really do miss these days. Kyle Field looked a lot different back in 2000.
GREATEST BAND IN ALL THE LAND
There is this brass band in OHIO.......
Awesome!
I’m a Bubblehead still gives me chills

Yes children in 2004 all we had was potato cameras.
What is the name of the first song ?
Patton theme
even the band is intimidating
This is like from the scene of the Startrooper-movie. Very fasist-like, but not in a bad way.
A&M Graduates along with graduates from VMI, The Citadel and West Point for the officer core of the United States Army.
to the aggie band what a show
I wish that Joe Biden could hear these drums marching on the White House, reminding him.."Don't mess with Texas "!
Amen amen
De Opresso Liber!
Uh, one small correction. . .your Latin word “oppresso” needs a second “p” which I know because I wore the SF crest in Afghanistan.
i bet an riot that the police is having a hard time dealing with would stop instantly if marched through
+turbonut20v Obviously, you didn't attend A&M or your grammar would be better.

are they stuck in 1918?
Yes and Damn proud of it!
Damn, now that's impressive - except for the fat tuba player on the far right at the end who can't seem to keep in step. Other than that, wow!
Funny, there are no tubas in the Aggie Band.

Change the music and it reminds me of Hitler youth parades in 1930's Germany.
If that your opinion, don't listen to the Chilean Armed Forces and Carabineros marches. From a Sefadirte.
What a ridiculous leftist comment. Lmao
Problem is...who pays for it? It costs a lot to travel to away games.
