Was in marching band. People do not realize how incredibly hard and perfectly seamless they of a performance they did!
I once saw an Aggie tuba-ist make an about face and lose his bell....so funny.
💯💯💯💯💯💯
I watch the local hs marching band practice almost everyday while waiting to pick my son up from baseball practice.
They are out there whether it's 100 degrees and sunny or cold and rainy, marching and pacing for hours.
Knowing the hours and hours of hard work the kids put into not only their routine, but practicing their instruments, it makes the half time show that much more enjoyable.
@@SarV1 Currently in HS marching band. Practice is an absolute nightmare and you always go home feeling like death, especially on days where you stay out until 5:30-6:00 in hundred degree weather. It's all worth it when you get that one perfect run during a football game though.
Absolutely! Counting your steps, making sure you're on the right yard line, and playing your memorized music. Been there, but these people are stellar!
Front seat guys: WTF IS GOING ON
Back seat: ohhhh that’s so cool

You should watch Ohio State marching band
Most impressive!! 👏
I'm part of the can't walk and chew gum at the same time gene pool, so this is like watching a magic show. truly inspiring
Same! And I used to weigh a lot more now that I weigh less than I used to so my body for real cannot figure out how to walk without stumbling if I look at the ground wrong, because I spent the better part of 35 years learning how to haul around all the extra weight & now I have to retrain my body
That "T" gives me chills🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯. What a spectacular performance and synchronization.
It’s so satisfying to watch the different sections pass through each other
I was just so amazed all along . Hope you're having a great day?
Barf!
One of the best drills I've ever seen.
Its true
I wish they still showed the bands at halftime on TV
How are you are you a member of this band ?
@@angelikawendelmea5038 I'm not, but I enjoyed when the Halftime shows were a part of the telecast.
I’m an Ohio State fan and their marching band is awesome, but you can’t beat a military marching band and these ladies and gentleman are one of the best. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
watch Kyoto Tachibana High School band :D Entirely different style, but I must say, I do prefer their marching style
Yeah, even though most of the "cadets" (60% to 65%) will never serve one day in the real Military people think that A&M has a "Military" band. There is NO obligation for these Cadets to become full-time military after graduation. Most of these "cadets" will play Army for 4 years and then move on to civilian life.
It is almost like stolen valor.
Robert McCoin with all due respect, would I be correct in assuming you do not have personal exposure to the Aggie Corps of Cadets and the young men and women in it? If not, I would invite you to visit College Station and find out more how this group is unique among ROTCs. I’m sure Commandant General Ramirez and his staff would welcome the opportunity to discuss with you how they ensure there is not much valor or anything else being stolen there.
gotta admit, im a michigan state fan but im a huge band geek and Ohio has one of the best marching bands i have seen
@@robertmccoin1166 The discipline required and sacrifice that these young people make in order to be a part of this great band is commendable. Not only do they have to do two years ROTC, they put in sometimes 40 or more hours a week practicing. And this is in addition to their required studies and extra-curricular involvement. And then they perform quite often so that people like me can enjoy listening to this great band and watching their complex formations and near-flawless synchronicity. So if they chose a profession that does not require them to be willing to sacrifice their life (such as the military, police force, etc.) - so that someone like you can shut-up about it already - then so be it. Just like YOU decided what you wanted to do with your life, they should also be allowed the same opportunity without being criticized, minimized, and demeaned.
As a Aggie, we never go to see the game, we go to see the band!!!!!!!!
Jim Gibbons true
Jim Gibbons I might not be a student there (yet) but I am an Aggie. My mother went to A&M and I have grown up on the campus. I would say Kyle Field is like my second home :p but the band is the best part of the whole game!!!

as a non american i could never understand why american football was so crazed over in the states, but this... it’s a whole experience, i would go
to a game just to watch this and see the environment
It is amazing to experience in person. It takes so much hard work to get to something like this.
Unfortunately great marching bands are not televised. (They run commercials). You have to attend the games in person. So sad. They work so hard. My brother played football and I was in the band. When his team sucks I tell him "halftime is gametime". I pick my football teams by the performance of their marching bands. I never lose ha ha.

Wow. The fake soldiers of Texas A&M can actually line up!! How thrilling!
@@robertmccoin1166 I can definitely feel the sarcasm.
@@DiboraBinebeb Well, when 60% to 65% of the Texas A&M "cadets" never serve a single day in any branch of the US Military it is damn near stolen valor to parade around for 4 years and have no obligation to serve at all. When they graduate 60% to 65% simply go on to their career just like any other student. Yet, they act as if they are on par with the US Military Academies which they are not.
@@robertmccoin1166 Alright, alright, I don't keep up with the facts too much, I just happened to see this video and thought it was cool, I wasn't mocking, just pointing out that I totally felt the sarcasm.
as an orchestra kid, more specifically a cellist, this was one thing i was always so jealous of band for! what do you mean you can *walk* and play your instruments at the same time?? absolutely incredible. a mesmerizing show!! the amount of time it takes to perfect this is hard to comprehend.
Ladies and Gentlemen, now forming at the north end of Kyle field, the nationally famous FIGHTIN’ TEXAS AGGIE BAND

From Australia just love the band and especially the snappy way this earlier video shows the band, a little faster beat and great timing. This the way I like it, what a band.
Its Amazing how tight their formation is and yet they can flip around and cross each other without anyone getting clobbered by those drums and horns and all going down like dominoes 💗 Job Well Done💗
WOW! What an AMAZING band! The Aggie band drilled the hell out of that field! I truly do not understand why the NCAA officials do not rank the Aggie band. This band should be in the top 5 of collegiate marching bands for sure. They amaze me with their military precision style drills. I'm an alum, and marched with the Southern University "Human JukeBox" marching band, so I know the hard work and dedication that goes into a performance. Although our style of precision drills differ from the Aggie band style, they both require a lot of strict self discipline, hard work, and dedication. As of 2014, Southern is currently ranked as having the 2nd best collegiate marching band in the country, only topped by Ohio State, who ranks #1. The Texas A&M Aggie band should be ranked as well. I'm a big fan, of the Texas A&M Aggie band, and will remain a fan forever! I never use just the term "Aggie" band anywhere else, because North Carolina A&T marching band are the "Aggies" as well. They're HBCU like Southern, so there are two collegiate marching "Aggie" bands in the USA. Keep up the good work fighting Aggies! #GoAggieBand#
As a diehard Longhorn and Veteran of the United States Air Force, I have to say, now that's class, that is!
Is this what they say "Big Band"?

When I was in sixth grade someone recorded me playing my trumpet and sent it to the Aggie band and the head band director said he’d be waiting for me. Ever since then I’ve dreamed of being in the band at a&m

The band prepares for a full week for each performance. They put on a different show each week during football season at Texas A&M University.

And as an Norwegian with our awesome HMKG (His Majesty the king's guard of Norway) band and drill show, with there precision marsj... or more like what they call it: "power marsj"... (those boy's are only in for 1 year service)
This Fightin' Texas Aggie Band is perhaps one of the best I have seen so far, specially as an large band performance.

This is absolutely amazing and I have never seen anything like it.
Thank you!
I would be that one dumbass and forget which way to go and fuck up the whole performance
lol. Me too
Alex Fred Being in a marching band is much much easier than it looks, eventually you just learn to turn with the music and you don't even have to think about it, it's just fun.
Its not easier, its just different. Its hard in areas you'd think easy, and easy in others you'd think hard.
Alex Fred it's all based on yard line markings
Is that why the music is so boring and depressing so people can concentrate on movements then complicated music ?
They attempted to run these marching formations on a simulation program, and the computer said the moves weren't possible because they required two cadets to be standing in the exact same spot. This is done in reality by cadets having the toes of their footwear being underneath the raised heel of the cadet in front of them.
oh is that how is that how they do it? That's a pretty ginormous marching step/stride. And where does their instrument go? Through the head of the cadet in front of them?
Cullen Anderson I had heard of the thing about the computers not bring able to handle it. Thanks for the refresher
Absolutely breath taking.
Rome wasn't built in a day, this routine wasn't either. ❤
Makes me so proud to be a Texan! 🥲
This is simply beyond awesome.
Whoa! How did they...?! This is impossible. It cannot be real... Where the @$ did 2.5K people find the gull to dislike this? This is the greatest human mass performance I have ever seen.
At least people were able to express their opinion through dislikes back then. Not anymore lol
Why do you zoom in when the whole point is to see the formations?
redenstein Lots of other videos posted show a wide view. I zoom in to get a better view of some of the precise countermarch turns and maneuvers the band members perform since you don't see much of that if zoomed out. Plus my son is in the band and I like to zoom closer in to him occasionally. Good question, though.
+James Beaman I am fascinated by the perfection of the counter-marching. And of course, your son being in the band is all the more reason to zoom in. Compliments to your steady hand on what looked to be a pretty cool night at College Station.

It's better to show the whole formation. Your son marches as a team, not solo.
Spectacular. So many hours of practice really paid off.

system_shift she’s talking about the annual bonfires we used to have every year before the A&M vs UT football game. In 1999 the bonfire collapsed and killed 12 during its construction. A memorial is built on the site and the bonfire is no longer built on campus. Gig’em! I’m class of 1981 and still live here in College Station.

Always wonder how trombone players, can memorize were the slide goes, the notes, were to go, how they have to march, know what the marching pattern is, God I'm glad I'm a trumpet player...
As a trombone player, it's not as hard as you'd think. You just need to memorize your positions and dots and it's all good from there
I am a trombone player... it is just memorization and somewhat muscle memory
Southern Catfish I play the trombone in the band for my school. it's not hard as you think. it just takes memorization and dedication
I'm a trombone player and the only thing that is hard for me is to keep my trombone from bouncing when I backwards March but the rest just takes memory
