The fundemental issue in the case of successful and failed US intervention is whether there is an established govt that's being protected or being replaced by the US: SK, Kosovo, Grenada, Haiti all were propping up established recognised governments whilst Afghanistan and Iraq sought to wholly replace the government. Total replacement only works if there is a will to stay ie Panama, Japan and Germany vs South Vietnam, Libya and Afghanistan

destiny doing his usual thing of simultaneously taking positions that sounds strong so he can call other people stupid, but couching all of his statements in language that allows him to back off everything he says in case some information changes so he never feels wrong might get him in trouble here, pretty touchy subjects

The Pashtun people (who make up about 42% of Afghanistan) are sorted into 600+ tribes each with their own traditional views and structures. Other ethnic groups such as the Turkmen also have traditional tribal structures. Every centralized government of Afghanistan has had limited to no power because these groups don't really recognize or want one, they'd prefer to be led by their tribal leaders and for the most part are

600+ tribes each with their own traditional views and structures? In one geographical region. I don't buy the picture of diversification you are selling here. I am willing to bet there is massive overlap and only minor variations among most of these tribes.

Tribal structures still kind of exist within rural areas. Although they aren’t really a distinction between persons. Afghan states throughout history had centralized control over cities and the trade routes through alliances with local leaders. Think of a tribe as a large family that is the wealthiest or runs the administration of a particular rural area. It’s also important to note that families have members fighting for both sides of the conflict.

Shia militias did not kill the most US soldiers, that was the sunni's. when the sunni groups were pacified (bribed and other reasons), the Iranian groups fled back to Iran pretty quickly when the US focused on them. They only returned when the Islamic State and the chaos created by that. Iran is against the taliban, they supported some groups in the south but they have never been friends.
The biggest supporters of the Taliban were and is the Pakistanis. Nobody wants to admit or talk about that, but its well known.
destiny being like "don't target Zawahiri." is a huge braindead take, the fact that was even accomplished with no US forces in Afghanistan is a huge feat. When the suicide bombing happened at the kabul airport, and the supposed future suicide bomber was blown up (turned out to be a totally innocent guy) anyone with experience in intelligence gathering was wonder how something like that could have been accomplished so quickly. Turns out it wasn't.
US has been assassinating AQ leadership in multiple countries for a decade, in northern Syria and Al- Nusra (use to be AQI) which under jolani abandoned ISIS and terrorist attacks against outside countries.

How is defending Israel an honorable action?
I agree with defending Ukraine as they are being attacked, but Israel is the aggressor.
Also, wasn't defending Israel used as part of the justification for doing 911 by Bin Laden?

@@yeezythegoat2475 i feel like whenever he talks about geopolitics/foreign policy he makes 2 mistakes.
      1. It feels like he takes all his information from a extremely niche viewpoint without listening to other viewpoint.
2.He learns alot about one region but doesnt know anything about surrounding regions which is vital for a decent take. Even what he does know lacks deeper knowledge of the countries he talks about ESPECIALLY Iraq And Afghanistan
