I have very good news for you my friend
While titanfall 2 is undoubtedly a masterpiece I can’t help but feel something really special was lost in the jump to the sequel. The ominous tone of the colony and fracture maps, the hints of extinct alien life that was on the frontier before us, customizing titans from the basics of guns and perks to even the voices they use, the grunts having fully developed personalities and dialogue if you listen to them instead of constantly repeating “THERE TRYING TO CORNER US” and the overall more tactile, worn down and “realistic” approach to its art direction. While titanfall 2 is beyond the greater game to actually play, this really does capture a grit and tension that the more bombastic in your face adrenaline rush of the sequel, while great in its own way, fails to convey.
I love Titanfall 2, I'm a second time G100. Everything is great about it.
But Titanfall 1 feels more raw, gritty, realistic. More science fiction. I miss it hugely.

Titanfall 1 feels like cod, but way cooler
Titanfall 2 feels like his own game, very fun but that ttf1 "realistic" aura... It just isn't the same.
Whilst I enjoyed TF2 Campaign gameplay wise, I found the story lacking in scale compared to TF1's
It dumbed down a nuanced conflict and made all IMC enemies simply merc-bros rather than a well oiled PMC
That and attrition AI was leagues better in TF1 than TF2
@@Mabifieldtitanfall 1 does have a certain feel that tf2 fails to capture. Tf2s trial by fire mission is the closest to tf1 the game has. Tf1 feels like a stepping stone to get cod fans into the franchise, and tf2 feels like the limits of the movement shooter genre
Love how gritty and rough everything felt. Very immersive
Felt like you were ACTUALLY a grunt pilot on the frontline seeing death and destruction. Tf2 feels like a hero shooter but Tf1 captures that true feeling of fighting for your position.
If we ever get Titanfall 3, I really hope we get these epic cutscenes on Multiplayer
And hopefully it's connected to apex legends that features the characters in the game :)

They aren't military soldiers (not all of them anyway) and some of them are straight up criminals and murderers i dont even see the IMC recruiting them. Plus they would NOT mesh well with titans which are one of 2 main units in titanfall games. Maybe a reference to the apex games but no appearances aside from world building things like billboard ads.
GIGANTIC shoutout to you my man, this is probably the only collection of 'cutscenes' from Titanfall 1 that aren't a mess and include every inch of cinematic juice. It really helps with researching for a lore video I'm putting together on the franchise and adds some visual. I'm gonna give you a massive shoutout for this in the credits cause this is awesome!

I know it's really tricky to pull off, but what I wanna see in Titanfall 3's story is a mesh of the storytelling styles from 1 & 2, basically have a singleplayer campaign where the story focus is, and a multiplayer campaign that has the singleplayer story beats happening in the background, it'd probably be a mess but if done right it could really make the world of Titanfall come alive.

It’s definitely possible in the alternate universe that Titanfall 3 came out in, as Splinter Cell: Conviction pretty much did the same thing. You got the campaign, and there’s a co op campaign along with multiplayer and other co op modes.
I like how he has the smart pistol in the IMC pov, just to illustrate what pieces of shit they are.
Just bought Titanlfall 2 to play the campaign and watched this as preparation. I had played the OG but I didn't remember anything when it came to its world building and story. This video was the perfect way to be reminded of it all and immerse myself to this universe once more. All the gameplay sections were masterfully shot as well, you should be proud of this, all around incredible video, thank you very much!

Great video dude. A majority of people in these campaign videos just immediately start running around and shooting each other like chickens with their heads cut off with machine guns. You actually took the time to record the cinematic moments that take place in the background, the special grunt animations, the full mission dialogues and the opening and closing sections; I'm glad SOMEBODY was this thorough with the details; good video quality too.
I think you missed a few parts though; the first lobby dialogues for The Refueling Raid, the IMC drop-shipping into Get Barker and the final IMC cutscene where Spyglass gives his speech. Still, this is the best Titanfall 1 campaign recording I've seen so far, it obviously took you a lot of work to pull this off, I appreciate it.
I wish there was some way to play the campaign solo, kinda hard to get matches for the multiplayer campaign for this nowadays and it'd be nice to not have to worry about other players while you soak in the story. Still loved this game's campaign though, Titanfall has such a cool universe and lore. Here's to hoping Titanfall 3 has both a singleplayer and a multiplayer campaign... if we ever get it that is.

You might be interested in some of my editing choices though; I deliberately didn't include that first lobby briefing as I felt it really hampered the cinematic feel of the opening...like imagine the beginning of this video here with those two static images and just audio dialogue...as opposed to how it opens now, with the fade-in to the fleet jump straight after the FMV intro. I did carefully think about this and in the end concluded that going straight into the opening mission essentially sets up the immediate situation well enough and didn't compromise the cinematic feel.
You're also right about the truncated IMC opening of Get Barker; as I remember, this was all recorded a year or two after the launch of the game and as you'll probably remember, it became hard to find campaign matches quickly, especially when I was after specific maps; this was probably the only footage I managed to get of the intro.
As to the final IMC scene, I omitted this for the same reasons as leaving out the initial briefing; I thought at the time that essentially repeating the same scene twice compromised the feeling of this being the end of a movie. Not sure if I'd make the same decision today (maybe left it in as a post-credits scene, the dialogue over just a black screen) but hey, I had some kind of logic.
You're right that it's a shame this is all essentially inaccessible now, but that was my initial idea to make this video; I knew one day the servers would be off and so thought it would be so cool to have a kind of cinematic movie of the campaign in which every soldier you see is a real player, every Titan battle being fought by real players. I only originally recorded it for my own viewing but I'm glad it's finding an audience online so people can see the beginnings of the franchise.
Captured. That makes sense, this really does have a cinematic movie vibe to it and opening with still images and dialogue would be kind of awkward. I still wish we could go back and play the campaign in some kind of singleplayer mode; how difficult would it be for them to go back and add some Titan bots to the levels so we could enjoy the narrative? As much as I want something like that I still like the concept of a multiplayer campaign mode, it's so unique; I like my multiplayer matches having a story attached to them so it feels like you're actually doing something important, rather than the generic: "go kill enemies randomly" stuff we see in multiplayer games everywhere.
I'm glad these are being recorded, the campaign can be hard to access now and in the future it might be impossible, videos like yours and Pilot Uplink's Grunt dialogue videos are the only way people might have to experience the first game's story and characters; unless somebody manages to mod the game somehow. This is such a good video like the way he try’s so hard to capture the whole fight as a scene as an actual battle instead of just cutscenes or just multiplayer gameplay. And just how cinematic he made it even though he’s just a player in the match is really impressive It really deserves more love. Really good job seriously. In a Titanfall 3, if it comes, I'm hoping for maybe multiple campaign types.
An offline standard game campaign with a good story, like Titanfall 2, as well as an online campaign with infinite replay-ability, like Titanfall 1.
I also hope we can see the return of First Person Embarks and Terminations. Perhaps making it an option to have Third or First Person if you're bothered about your skins.
I am also a believer that we should have new main characters, even if they are of the imc

I like how the dropships teleports you out of the planet, making a jet engine sound, very badass
The giant ships have that amazing wind-up sound as it teleports, shame it wasn't in TF|2. It's reused for the regular dropships in Apex at least.
If I close my eyes I can atill remember every inch of the Refueling map at the start.

I like the way the cutscenes are spliced and edited. Gameplay and cutscenes and "gameplay cutscenes" are melded perfectly.
I really wished people would see how much better this game was than the sequel and apex

I never bothered playing the tf1 campaign back in the day and I definitely regret it, this was nice to watch through especially with all the cinematic views of the story events you put in. Here’s hoping respawn decides to do something with the Titanfall name other than milk it for apex

I played all of those missions in TF1 multiple times, and imma be honest i never got any of the story except for my babygirl Barker being thrown down a manhole xd. The story multiplayer missions was a cool concept, and thanks for compiling all of it, but i can see why it didnt stick.

It is. This campaign is part of it with each mission a match. Either the IMC or Militia can win or lose based on which group of people wins the match.

I used to be into the IMC when I was young, now that TF2 came out and how the militia is portrayed was more foreshadowing than anything.

man I loved the structure of the campaign in tf1. I get why they switched to a more traditional version in 2 (and that was great) but it does lose the punch of context to the multiplayer matches.

Titanfall 1 has been pulled from storefronts. It is now only possible to play it by getting a Deluxe Edition or Standard+Season Pass cd keys (otherwise free DLCs are not available!). The servers on PC are hit or miss in terms of their status, mostly missing a hit. The servers on both Xbox consoles are 100% working properly and the servers on Xbox One have a healthy player base.

Captured, when did you record this video? Titanfall 1 is absolutely unplayable at the moment even on xbox.
It's not unplayable on xbox, I've been playing dozens of matches the last few days. Sure, you gotta wait for certain times of the day when there's enough people playing and you don't always get a full roster but it's still playable.

Michal Bochenski. I dunno, there might just be more people playing in the U.S. than in Europe, maybe try playing late LATE at night when American's play during the evening? I don't know if the servers cross over the pond. Not as many people playing Campaign but I can usually get a match in Attrition. I think the other modes are mostly dead though.
I heard some A-holes were hacking the Titanfall 1 & 2 servers and a ton of people weren't able to play. I only just got back into it though so I'm not sure if the lack of players for 1 is normal.

Michal Bochenski. As much as I love Titanfall 2, (especially its campaign) T1's multiplayer was better in most ways imo. It had better maps, better Titans, the Grunts had those neat little animations and more dialogue and I think the game's overall ascetics looked better. Off the top of my head, the only thing I think T2 did better than T1 is the Pilot movement... which admittedly is friggin' seggzy.

it was weird, the way they made it the multiplayer is the campaign, which made it fun because it felt like ptfo'ing actually mattered but it was also repeative.
You gotta bet it by disc but I’m pretty sure the servers are down on console or there’s barely anyone on them
The multiplayer campaign wasn't liked all that much, yet how would the battle of demeder feel if it was a single-player mission?
There is a vibe that tf1 capture so well compared to titanfall 2. Better movement, more weaponry to toy with, but the original sequel maps sucks imo. Tf 1 maps on the other hand is so memorable, the interaction between AI feels more alive, and oh the goddamn beautiful skybox and the dynamic stuff out of bounds, it feels legitly like an all out war with context.
Can titanfall one be played against bots? Like cod ghost’s? Wanted to check before rebuying it.
Not really, no. There's Frontier Defense which you CAN play solo, but it's specifically made for 3-4 players and it's practically impossible to win by yourself. It's a real shame they never added any single-player modes, that'd increase the game's life by a lot. BTW, you can't buy it digitally anymore.

It's because of some guy Ddosing completely most servers of the game making people unable to play, at least on PC. I heard this same guy goes for servers where there are streamers in Titanfall 2 for a little while too.
