Caste discrimination nhi karte iska kya matlab hai ki dusre jaati ki ladki se shaadi kar lein? Apne jaisa log se hi shaadi karenge na? Muslim Muslim se kare, Hindu Hindu se kare, ek jaati ka ussi jaati se kare. Sab aapas mein shaadi karenge to na Hindu bachega, na Muslim, na caste, sab khichri ban jayega, ye kaisa diversity jaha sab koi ek jaisa hi hai😂

Most atrocities done on scst are by obcs (yadav, rana ) and thakurs.
Obc also include some rajputs and brahmins too.
Obc never experienced actual caste discrimination like untouchability that scst did.
Saying OBC are more responsible for casteism is like saying Mogambo's henchmen are more responsible for violence than Mogambo.

@@mandakinijha1116 its the system that is ingrained and conditioned.. like robots. and the castes you mentioned dont even get education and develop the mental tools to break out of that system. beause it they do, they will also be crushed by those above and below them. like robots everybody kind of just goes on.
I am in obc category. Maine jitna apne samaaz ko dekha hai obc ka upper cast se shaadi na karne ka main reason insecurity hi hai aur obc generals pe trust nhi karte.
Aur sc st se shaadi na karne ka main reaso unhen neecha samajhna (discrimination) hai.har cheez me baraabar maan lenge par shaadi k liye sc st neech ho jaate hain. Aur other obc cast me shaadi na karne ke reason social difference hai aur obc me bhi categorisation hai. Like kuch yadavas ye maante hai ki hum khatriya the ya chandravanshi hai toh baakiyon se better hain aur baniyon ka ye manna ki hum vaishya the sudra nhi.
Many General Castes especially the Brahmins haven't got rid of their casteist feelings even if they have converted to other religions then how can marrying in different castes/religions will remove casteism ?
You are literally telling people to turn their backs on their ancestors, their blood, and their land. Why would anyone forget that they come form a prestigious line of rulers, thinkers, and philosophers

Main thing is to do simply registered marriages i.e. court marriages- don't call pandits/purohits. Don't donate in temples run by brahmin priests. Don't call brahmins for funerals/naming of your children. Don't attend thread ceremonies of brahmins. In short boycott brahminism as much as possible. This will not eradicate casteism fully but surely create cracks in brahminism. The last point maybe difficult to follow especially if the person involved in thread ceremony is your colleague/neighbour/relative/boss etc. But I think you can follow the other points. Mere intercaste/interreligion marriages are not the solutions nor are religious conversions the solutions.

Intercaste marriages will not destroy casteism. Many general caste men marry reserved caste women. Yet those men will proudly declare that they have married lower caste women- as if they have done some favour to those women! Forget it Manoj Vajpayee has married in different religion (not a different caste but a totally different religion) yet he openly calls himself a Brahmin!
Why should he not call himself Brahmin?😂 I don't get your point. If her wife says she is from a particular religion and she is proud of that, good. Doesn't the same goes for him. I think you are the type of person who appreciates a sc/st being proud on what they are but if general are doing the same it's wrong. 😂
Obc - they are also casteist and practice untouchability. As this question is about it. As a dalit, obc rejected to getting married cause of being a dalit.

My guess is that religious hegemony is at play here. That is to say most of the people in all the castes are religious and therefore as a virtue of it they not only believe in the prevailing caste system but also practice it conciously.
Secondly, unfortunately there is a caste divide within a caste cateogry also (again i think it is a result of religious hegemony). Eg Dalit, Maha dalit..
OBC and ST SC got their social structure and shape it by being inspired by the so called upper caste as in back of time they were prosporus and wealthy so the lower class people were slowly taking notes getting inspired and trying to mimic them to become the part of the so called society and its standards as set by so called upper class
And why this would have happened because the lower class was not allowed to study and have their own thoughts so what left for them to learn from the so called upper class and the so called standard set by them and this was the reason slowly OBC STSC become as they are now and think they should be marring in the caste only otherwise society and log kya kahenge

also lets say hypothetically this person is correct then too in any case a secular reform is needed which we can easily see popular media isnt providing a chance for this discourse also if this person is against caste and want to help a certain community reform he should talk to them not you.
Inter caste, inter religion, inter race etc marriages will always harm the minority community. The reason why Parsis still exist in the world is because they marry among themselves, if they will support inter religion marriage then they will get assimilated into the wider hindu population. Same goes with Muslims, if Muslims will intermarry on the basis of religion, they too will be subsumed by the Hindus. Similarly, intermarriages based on caste only harms the upper castes cause they are the minority among the castes.

If Inter caste marriages does not happen then there's casteism well and alive is not a nuanced argument. There's a cultural differences between castes and people have their own preferences. Its like saying that if a white person does not marry a black person in America then he/she is a racist which is a ridiculous accusation. People have got their own personal preferences and it may or may not have to do with discrimination.
people confuse preference with discrimination, sure if it is happening in random patches- it is a preference. But if you see that trend en masse, then saying that it is not discrimination is just cowardice
According to the National Council of Applied Economic Research, 95% of Indian marriages happen within the same caste. Preferences are individualistic. When the majority of the 140crore ppl in the country share the same "preference", which is deliberately taught and is forcefully enforced, it is discriminatory & detrimental to everyone involved. This purity obsession is a sickness that hides behind words like culture and merit.
@@aswathyl1286 95 percent consists of many castes. The upper caste population is like only 15 percent of the Indian population. I've seen people from LC who vehemently are opposed to inter caste marriage cuz they are very tribalistic and see their culture as superior. For instance a jatt will never marry outside of his caste. You can't blame brahmins really when all the caste prefer their own when it comes to marriage. Doesn't matter if they are UC or LC and it's for the same reason. Indians are very tribalistic and caste oriented.

In fact there's data showing that the majority of people in the world tend to marry within their race/culture. Do you think the majority of the world population are racists?

In the US, the whites are the majority~59, the blacks & Hispanics~13 &18% of the ppln. Even then there's abt 19% interracial marriages. In India, DBA to Savarna ppln is around 80-20%, where interracial marriages happen ~5%, which are mostly happening among the lower castes.
Caste/Varna system is a tailor made, vertical hierarchy, based on purity of birth. The brahminical system has a ladder pattern of hate, false dignity, division & insecurity. In a country where daily caste based honour killings & atrocities happen, to claim that this particular homegrown evil is somehow a natural and innocent happenstance, is just simply dishonest. It can't even be equated with racism since it operates in the shadows & in secrecy. Casteism works because it makes everyone complicit in it, not just the Brahmins.
Relax and read up on it, because there's really no serious pushback to your hegemony outside of social media. Maybe try to engage with it with an open mind. Have some guts. Or not.
