I love the animals you've done. One of the things I appreciate the most is the attention you pay to the anatomy of the animal, they always look perfectly porpotioned. The long haired dog is just stunning.
How totally fun for the the neighbor's cat to feel welcome jumping through your open window. I love that. Also, your videos and tuts are super helpful to a novice. Thanks!
That's so kind of you to say and so glad you like the video's. I am going to do a video of my experience on Etsy in a few weeks, basically it takes time to get going but the more you sell, the more you will sell, feedback and evidence of sales really help. Anyway, glad you have found the hobby, I love it, thanks for watching x
Been watching lots of tutorials, and yours are the best I’ve found so far, such great explanations and clear instructions , found this one most helpful thank you .
Brilliant and it's lovely to get such nice feedback. I still have lots of video's to make but time always escapes me! Thanks for watching and happy felting x
New subscriber here. I know this video was made quite some time ago, so I'm late to the party. What a fantastic tutorial, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. So lovely to see things that you've made at the end. The Highland coo is absolutely phenomenal! Seriously first class. 💕🥇💕
I’ve been watching a couple of your videos. I received a kit for Christmas! Having never done any felting before. I like knitting and crochet sewing and painting so quite crafty!! I’ve seen a little bit of felting but I am a total novice! I did the kit but it’s just not like anything I’ve seen in here! I’ve bought some kit and keep watching you tutorials.
You really are a great teacher! thank you 😊🙏🏻😊. So informative. I’ve only just found you so I’m enjoying working my way through your tutorials and thoroughly enjoying them. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻👏😉
Thank you for your very helpful videos - I have learned so much. But I have a question and I just can't find an answer. How do you stop the 'fluffing' when doing manes, tails, long hair? Mine looked ok ...but now they have all started to fluff out. It gets thick, starts coming out the bottom and it looks daggy. I tried giving one a gentle comb with the needle but that just made it very thin. What am I doing wrong?
I think you have to handle the wool very carefully in the first place, never have your mat underneath as it will mess up the wool and I guess my manes are put in quite thick so that when you brush things with a single needle lots of wool is still there. Also have a solid base to felt into otherwise the wool won't take hold very well xx
Hello! Thank you fur the outstanding tutorial (I'm sorry, I had to :))! But anyways, recently I've found an interest in trying out needle felting. I am debating on whether or not to buy a kit off of amazon. Do you think it is a fun thing to try out? Do you have any advice? If I do get into it, I will ENSURE I use your tutorials. Thank you so much! Happy felting!
Definitely a great craft to try, here's my video on a great starter kit for beginners and I have a playlist for beginners too x ua-cam.com/video/3lffMSi0vfI/v-deo.html
could you needle felt at the ends of the roving to have really really long fur? or would it pull out easily? thinking of making a nice fluffy pompom that looks like real fur?
How do you keep the strands from clumping together? It might be the type of wool I'm using, but I've been having difficulties keeping hair from trying to mat and clump, and isn't soft. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Definitely could be the wool, anything fine can be tricky but I remove my mat and try and felt with the creation upright as much as possible. The clover claw is good at gentle combing it out x
I used to have a cross eyed ginger and also a Asian short haired cat pop in my window. It’s nice to have the company but also nice to let them out to go home 😄
You can brush out yarn to turn it into something you can felt, it takes a long time but some people do it, you just use a strong brush on it and comb it.
I made this one a long time ago, I'm not great with dogs so haven't done many but I will be doing my dachshunds at some point, you dog looks adorable! X
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I just want to say that the music is quite distracting as your teaching method and voice are soothing enough. I dont see the need for the music as it clashes with your method :)
Hi Audrei, Thanks really kind of you to say, sometimes I don't turn the music down enough, you are right. I will review it and maybe find quieter, more slower tracks, I do like having it so I don't feel I have to talk and can leave a gap. I will definitely look at it and thanks for watching x

Thank you so much for your tutorials, so easy to understand and see. I agree with Audrei below, the music is distracting and you really don't need it!

could you needle felt at the ends of the roving to have really really long fur? or would it pull out easily? thinking of making a nice fluffy pompom that looks like real fur?
Yes, you can, maybe place a length of carded over the end to really secure it, try and give yourself at least an inch to secure in x
How do you keep the strands from clumping together? It might be the type of wool I'm using, but I've been having difficulties keeping hair from trying to mat and clump, and isn't soft. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Do you save your scrape wool to use on another project?
Yes, definitely for core wool for projects xx
How do you felt the shorter Highland cow coat , Ive done the long haired successfully from your pdf , i just need to try the shorter coat .
Lots of trimming I'm afraid, I hope to do a full online tutorial on him but struggling with time x
Love the striped model popping in view🐈

Hi Pippa! What is your preferred needle for attaching fur?
Quite a large one, probably 38 triangular, it has to be strong x
@@feltsbyphilippa got it! I have that one thankfully! Thank you 😊
36 would be okay too, what are you making x
@@feltsbyphilippa I'll give it a shot! I'm working on a hamster right now!

Do you have a demo on how to do a teddy bear with this method? Was that also the roving wool?
Hi, no, I haven't done any teddies yet and yes, the tops wool can sometimes be called roving too x
@@feltsbyphilippa thanks ! I LOVE your videos!
Please tell the process in which we can transform yarn into felt.
You can brush out yarn to turn it into something you can felt, it takes a long time but some people do it, you just use a strong brush on it and comb it.
I can't find the video that you did on attaching yarn.
This is a boucle yarn but you could use any yarn in a similar way x

I'd love to see your long haired dog being made, if you see my picture on my profile, I have a standard poodle I'd love to make out of this pattern.
I made this one a long time ago, I'm not great with dogs so haven't done many but I will be doing my dachshunds at some point, you dog looks adorable! X
what is the shape made of at the start?
It's like a tube/oblong shape x
How do you creat eyes for your model?
They are just plastic or glass eyes from Etsy, ranges from 3mm to 10mm x
