8:34 I ran into a pretty rough storm in my heavily loaded cog yesterday and the genoa by itself pulled me through with very minimal flooding. It’s rapidly becoming my favorite sail. Also, I really like the mail carrier idea
Amazing music choice for the storm. Made an Aestrin-Emerald Archipelago crossing yesterday, and for several days, I was caught in a raging squall. Despite my fear of sinking, shanties kept my spirit up
OUCH, I feel for you man, I thought you'd figured out more or less where you were and where the rock was! Sail west/west-west-southwest of the rock next time and you'll see HB after about 5 minutes. You're more likely to end up east of HB and west of it, and the rock helps to warn you and point you in the right direction.
You can get a UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) to help with your power issues. They are extremely useful. I bought one in 2017 and it almost immediately paid for itself when it was struck by lightning and the only thing that got hit was the ethernet port on the UPS itself. If it hadn't been for that UPS, I would've needed to buy a new computer at a time when I had basically no money. Do yourself a favor. Buy a UPS. They're good when the power goes out and when there's a storm. But as always, don't run your PC when the storm is too bad. Also, I love your music choice. And thank you for not going into politics.
Hi, in our world, you would need to aim the quadrant against the north star to get your correct reading. I just watched a few episodes of you playing Sailwind, so I'm not familiar with navigation here, but I bet there is a north star or some similar star as well. keep sailing!!
i know you used to be able to grab the yard arm on the sail and push or pull it where you want it. that would help when trying to back up. in other words, grab the arm, push into place to catch the wind and let go once you get turned. i haven't played in a long time so it may have changed.
A mail courier run sounds interesting. Lots of routing equations to solve, going from island to island. It'll be a low-cash-flow environment though, and will take forever to get rich on. (but, should provide a good amount of time running around on a small boat) I'd probably try the Kakam, as it's my least used small, but I wonder which one would be the best for it? (probably dhow)
I forgot if you mentioned it at some point, but is there a reason you are not using the Shipyard Expansion mod? I think the maker of the mod is revamping it and is working on adding crow's nests to some of the ships for the next main update to the mod.
@@DaltonReutlinger That's as good a reason as any. Right now, the mod does *not* have any crow's nests, but it should soon. There's a bunch of customization options included, like moving the Brig's helm to the rear deck, having the ability to resize sails, new mast locations, a bunch of new staysails, and even topmasts. It's a great mod, some other great ones are NANDFixes, NANDTweaks, Furniture Fix, Bits And Bobs, and Simple Tides. NANDFixes - Fixes quite a few bugs in the base game, although I do not know if it works properly on the Beta branch. NANDTweaks - Shows the weight of sails in the shipyard menu, lets you turn on an icon for mission cargo so you can easily tell what is for missions, and a setting which when turned on, lets alcohol still affect you while you are sleeping. Furniture Fix - Makes picking up furniture bound to crouching or (by default) Left Alt, and lets purchased beds be used with left-click. Bits And Bobs - Adds several things, like lights to Dragon Cliff's gate, the option to make Mt Malefic produce smoke, which can be seen from quite far away, shooting stars on some nights, and allowing you to right click lamps in your inventory to toggle them. Simple Tides - Adds tides by raising and lowering islands, not super noticeable on small boats, but I've gotten my Brig beached several times by docking in too-shallow waters due to tides. Be aware that currently Simple Tides seems to conflict with the Improved Horizons mod. If you need help installing, or have any issues running mods, let me know and I will get back to you ASAP. All currently updated mods use BepInEx , there is a guide to installing mods in the pinned messages of the "modding-discussion" discord channel, in the Sailwind Community Discord server, and I am sure if you have any questions, the people there will be happy to help.
Nope, you go to sleep and the bar fills. If you wake up before the bar is filled you can right click and get out of bed. If you don't right click, you go back to sleep. Once you are fully rested you can't sleep. If you are too hungry or thirsty, can't sleep either.
In terms of counting votes I don't know what any other state does but I know here in Georgia it's all electronic because it's 2024 like if you go to the actual voting place it's a fucking computer like honestly we could just set up a website and you just you have to log in with like your social security number or your driver's license or something and make this process a whole lot faster

That's pretty much my go-to strategy when seas get rough as well.
And sea shanties make everything better

We use one them for the stereo system and internet at the hockey arena where I work. And you are right, they are VERY much worth it

Yes there is. It’s the third (or second depending on how you count them) star of the Northern Bow constellation

@@andybenson4877 honestly, with this kind of run, nothing is really off the table since mail is so light.
i wonder if anyone has mapped out currents in this game yet

@@DaltonReutlinger This made my day.
Love the content. How about only making money from trading only like a rum runner!
It's not super profitable. You'd be struggling with that one.
@@DaltonReutlinger that's right! The grind is real!😁
So is there a way to "skip" or "Cancel" the sleep then in Mid sleep?
No. Your character only wakes up at random times.
@@DaltonReutlinger Gotcha. Cheers!
If you make sure your food or water meter isn't too full, you can sleep for a shorter period of time and wake up when you get hungry/thirsty.

We do paper ballots in Oklahoma and it works perfectly fine.
Also good song choice even though I prefer rolled northumbria myself
