- In this video I take a look at one of the cheapest Sony Prime Lenses, the Sony 50mm f/1.8, which is a lens that many people tend to ignore due to the negative press it attracted when it launced. Right off the bat, there are definitely better lenses available out there, but when it comes to "bang for your buck" or "value for money", it's hard to ignore this lens if you can grab it at a lower price than retail. Is it worth buying in 2022? Let's have a look!

Hi,a question here,i have this lens with My Sony A5000 and it's good on Photo but in video it dosen't do AF,You know how can i solve it? Thanks.
I’m not sure. I didn’t realise that the 50mm lost AF functionality in video mode. I think the camera doesn’t recognise it properly in video mode, so maybe a native lens might be better for video.
