Keep doing exactly what you're doing. Don't listen to ignorant people who think you need to speak native English to make videos. Also, I like to hear your thought process while you're working.
First of all, you speak great English.personally, I find the commentary quite helpful and somewhat entertaining. Keep doing what you’re doing. Your pipes are quite nice 👊🏻
This is simply exquisite, i think you've given me a new hobby to try delving into. I dont have access to Briarwood but i think as tries or prototypes - not necessarily for actual use i can use any hardwood available. I have seen all your pipe making content so far and i am truly inspired. Keep up your format and good work.
This makes me happy. My main goal is to make more people try woodworking. A pipe is a really nice project to begin with. More videos regarding pipe making is coming soon. Thank you for you comment!
Thank you for this inspirational video. I have recently begun to diddle with pipes and already am a hobbiest woodworker. I'm off to order some brier root and pipe stems.
It is a lot of fun! I'm glad you think the video is great and I wish you good luck with your upcoming projects 😀 You are more then welcome to send photos anytime.
I do my best to include as much details as possible. I'm glad i can inspire people to start making their own (or to buy a pipe from me..) Thank you for your comment. It means a lot for me 🙂
Very good! Please send photos of your creations later. Find yourself some good briar root and get going. You won't regret making a own pipe. Good luck! 🫡
Great video... Keep up the good work. May you one day get to Northern Sweden, build your rustic cabin and smoke plenty of handmade pipes..... Thank you
Beautiful mate! Kinda reminds me of an oyster mushroom. I don't think you talk too much and honestly, your English is better than some people I know personally and I AM English! I need to get a piece of briar for my next attempt at pipe making.
The shape and the color of the pipe body is very similar to a very popular mushroom here in Sweden. Order some briar root and just begin making them. Briar is very easy to work with as it is a hard speices of wood, with really nice grain. Thank you and ill se your creation instagram 😀
7 minutes into the video, and just wow. I already feel apart of this journey and because of that I want to see you succeed. I just subscribed. You taking the time to explain your journey instantly brought me along. I like the idea that you're doing this for the growth of the channel and not only just for yourself. We have the same goal in mind: the growth of the channel. Your sales pitch makes me feel like I'm growing a community and not just some guy's bank account when I subscribed. I'm excited to see how I can impact the channel. I also want you to make good money but I'm just telling you what intreged me the most because I want more people to subscribe aswell. I wish you well on your journey to success :)
Wow! Thank you for this positive feedback. I try to include as much details as possible and at the same time rambling about life. As I also stated I prevoius videos: my mail goal is the make more people enjoy woodworking as I think it is a great hobby. Again, thank you for your comment and there will be more videos very soon. Furniture and also a lot of more pipe making videos. 🙂
Finally. A video that actually shows the pipe making process from start to finish. Great job. Also, I heard a wire brush works well to remove bark from the top but I haven't tried it. Might be worth a shot.
I know! I also searched for complete videos and realized that i had to make them myself. I will try the wire brush in a upcoming video. Thank you for your comment!
I didn’t find a problem with your English. In fact, I personally found your voice rather comforting, so I would recommend you keep speaking. I love the pipe. Haven’t made one yet, but I have a good friend who smokes a lot of loose tobacco, so I’ve always wanted to try making one.
Excellent video. I appreciate you not having music in the background, its a real turn off. Your English is excellent, better then half of those in America. 😉 . Your talking through the video is fine, i like when people explain the process, tips and tricks also. Thank you for the video. Subscribed
Thank you for all of this feedback! I will never put just music on my videos on this channel. Thank you for your subscribtion, more videos are on the way.
Outstanding work sir. I used to smoke a pipe back till 1978 and have been thinking about getting back to that relaxing habit. I live in America and believe me, I’ve heard worse English from some Americans so go right ahead and narrate your videos. I can understand you clearly.
Thank you sir! It seems very relaxing. Here in Sweden the most common is using "snus" very similar to your "dip" or other nicotine pouches suchs as VELO in America. Not as relaxing as pipes but very effective. I am pleased to hear that you think I should continue with the voiceovers. Thank you 🙂
I am glad to have found your channel🎉 I am a novice pipemaker myself and learning quickly...I enjoy making things in my shop too, pipe stands too😊 Love the detail in your videos and I understand perfectly❤ I used to be active on YTPC however the strange comments from others once you show pipemaking, too many opinions😊 I am very active on IG though. Looking forward to more on your channel🎉 Cheers from Vancouver Island BC Canada
Hello! I try a lot to make sure every detail is included in the videos. Glad to make people inspired. I have not been active on YTPC but If they want they could include me. I like the different opinions regarding pipe making. Cheers from Uppland, Sweden 😀
@HallbeamDesign I appreciate the detail, and I also only use a handdrill and dremel for my pipemaking amongst other tools but no lathe etc...I would be careful with the ytpc, there are too many opinions that are not positive or encouraging, not to mention the tight lips on sharing techniques etc...I avoid it for this reason, however the IGPC is wonderful and inclusive to everyone with common respect and no politics and religion which plagues the ytpc😉 Just my experience over a year...Cheers
I think u should keep up with the voice over videos. Ur videos have help me get the right tools needed to make a pipe. I am going to make a churchwarden pipe. It would be really cool if one of ur future videos is on the process of make a churchwarden.
One of the coming videos will include a churchwarden. In two different ways of making them.. :) I glad i can help you with getting the right tools. I had the same problem a time ago. I did the same as you and watched other makers. Most of them use really expensive tools lathes and similar stuff. I found that there is a lack of videos regarding this subject with "simple tools" I'm happy the accent does not make the voiceover unbearable :)
That I don't know. But i'm taking your word for it :) I think more people should think the way you do. There is a great clip regarding this when a young boy is trying to interview a great football player in the players language. The audience is laughing because of the pronounciation but the player intervenes and is honored.
Agree about doing every stage. So many channels that you look at for information, even on beginner how to vids skip over the basics/routine steps. Your voiceovers are great & the accent very cool. Keep on, keeping on. Ady☮️
Great video, I love your dry sense of humor. You should definitely continue narrating your videos. I also love the little blemish on the side of the pipe, it gives it some cool character. Also, thank you for talking about the mistakes you make, I think a lot of people are hesitant to do things, and share them with others, because they are afraid of it not being perfect. I hope to soon start my own channel on leather work, thank you for sharing your creations with the world and inspiring others. Also, you should definitely get a drill press. A little bench top model would be perfect for your pipe making. I look forward to seeing what you create in the future, and I hope to some day see you at one of the international pipe shows showing off your fabulous hand made pipes.
I think the blemish is similar to harry potters scar. But on a pipe. I think you are completely right regarding that people are hesitant. I have friends and people i work with that are hesitant to show their work for me sometimes. I think the work they have done is great. Often it is the maker of the product that only see all of the blemishes. Leather is a subject that I would really want to get into. But I think I'm way to far away to being able to start producing videos about it. I would love to dress the inside of a nice wooden accesory box with dark tanned leather. I actually have a drill press!. Dremel sent me their drill press which you can attach nearly any dremel Rotary tool to. I didn't use it in this video due to me wanting to show that it's possible to do without it. The dremel drill press is really good though. I'm honored. I look forward to you starting a channel with your future leatherwork. Im going to make a video about why i started this channel very soon. There are many reasons why and it has been a lot of fun and a lot of hard work. Thank you for your comment.. :) It has been a pleasure.
Nice work! My father had a carver make a pipe for me years ago. The wood is cherry and the bowl is carved into the shape of a boot, It also has laces. I use it on occasion and people always comment on it.
Thank you! There are a lot of truly unique shapes and sizes regarding smoking pipes. I don't smoke pipes myself but enjoy the process of creating them. I have quite a bit of cherry stored just for this purpose 😀 Thank you for your comment!
I like that you talk throughout the entire video because you're teaching us a lot of useful things. Thanks for the video! I'm a beginner in pipe making, and I don't even smoke, but the pipes can be so beautiful that I consider them a form of art.
Pipes are definitely in my near future, I just need to finish these spoons first. Thank you for the "broken" English instructional video. Also, 8:25 I wasn't expecting that pleasant surprise.
I'm enjoyed that the majority of people commenting are pro "broken english" You will forever be remembered because of your great tip. It's a pleasure. Good luck regarding the future pipes! 😀
@HallbeamDesign I'm happy to hear it was useful. Thanks for the luck. I'll need it. Ps: I think any native english speaker could hold a conversation with you which is quite impressive.
I'm only 5 minutes in but KEEP MAKING VIDEOS! Your voice is great, your explanations are wonderful and you do a great job of showing what you're doing and telling the viewer why (and/or how) it's done. Good stuff, keep it coming please!
I also like watching videos of people building natural form homes in the deep woods out of found material. It's a dream I've had since I was a kid to do that myself and someday I will.
I agree. There is something about it that makes me feel calm. Imagine building a timber house/cabin and beeing able to live there for some month in a year.
10:50 you speak the perfect amount, as I have a very strong desire to make pipes as well, and all of the knowledge you bring helps me save myself from obvious mistakes I could make in the future. for me this is hyper instructional information not entertainment, and if you ask me, you could even talk more. and your English is excellent, don't let them make you second guess yourself.. Love what you do, keep it going!
I'm glad to hear this. Positive feedback. You are probably my main audience as you want to make a pipe and are looking for inspiration on youtube. When you start making them, please send photos of them and I might input them into a upcoming pipe making video 🙂
As I am sure you already know, this pipe looks like an incredible piece. I love woodworking, and the satisfaction that comes from the process, and completion of a project that makes a portion of the mind become tangible. For someone who doesn’t have any tools, would you mind listing a minimalist set of tools that would, in your opinion, allow someone with very little money to be able to make a pipe?
Thank you a lot. As much as I love power tools this is very possible to do with cheaper hand tools. At the same time you could buy used tools on facebook marketplace often very cheap. I still buy used tools sometimes. A minimalist pipe making set: 1. Cordless drill with drill bits (in my first video i show how to modify a spade bit to become a "bowl" drill. 2. A rasp with a coarse and a fine side. 3. Sandpaper. 60, 120, 240, 400 grit. With this you could make a pipe. If you also have the following cheap things you could be much more effective. 4. A used powertool like a dremel och anglegrinder (with a sanding wheel) 5. A handsaw (to remove bulk material) I started out with very simple tools and managed 🙂 Hope this helps!
Rest easy, my friend, there is a 99.999% chance that the people who remark on your English could not speak Swedish if their petty lives depended on it. I enjoy your videos and thank you for posting them! I find them very inspiring! Curious how you feel about using a wire brush for bark removal?
Don't stop narrating your videos. You have a perfectly understandable English speaking voice, and the videos would lose their charm if it was just text on screen or another narrator.
Hey. I really enjoy your videos. The voice makes it unique. I will be trying my own pipe very soon. Can I ask where you got the ring from? Maybe you covered that in the video but if you did I missed.
Didn't cover this. When I ordered the acryllic mouthpiece i ordered it with the ring attached. It is possible to order rings by themself and attach them later. I did a video about this earlier this year. So long i have ordered everything from janzen-pfeifen.de which is a german website. They have a lot of products and tools for pipe making. I pay via PayPal and get my order in about 3-6 days to Sweden. Hope this helps! :)
Great video. It makes me want to give this a try and I am. I probably shouldn't use briar wood to practice due to it's expense. Can you recommend a good practice wood that I could use before using briar?
I think that cherry or white oak would be suitable for practise. I would not try to use the oak pipe for smoking though. But the hardness I nice enough for practise. Briar is really hard and does not chip easily 😀
Please, keep narrating your videos and showing even the smallest steps. I'm not a fan of the music with no voice over pipe making videos, and as someone wanting to start making my own pipes, yours are the first to make it feel like it's something I can do
I will, 99% of the comments are really positive towards me adding a bilingual voiceover to my videos. I'm really glad that this video is making people wanting to make their own pipes. Making pipes does not require expensive tools. Good luck with your project and ypu are very welcome to send me photos during the build or when it is finished :)
Do you think you could go from doing this as a hobby to doing it as a business if you wanted to with realistic levels of difficulty? (I don't want to say "easily")?
Mabey. I depends on a lot of things. I have had a lot of luck getting customers for my pipes through friends and from my "regular" job. I started my business last year and have been doing it at the same time as having three kids and a regular 9-5 job. I believe that if i could put all of my time into woodworking i would right now be able to earn a living wage with all of the different sources of income i have. It will not be easy but doable. Pipes was around 10% of my business last year. But could be a lot more if i found more customers. If I had the time I would make more videos here on youtube. If I sell a pipe with a accesory box for 300-500$ it is a one time income. If I at the same time make a good video about that pipe with accesory box (filming and editing is about 20-40 hours of work for me) That video could earn more a lot more if it goes viral. I recently tried facebook ads with good result here in Sweden and I sold everything i put up in 2 days. Which made me realize that there are a lot of people looking for hand made things. This was a long response but I think it is a really interesting subject and I often talk about this with my friends and coworkers. Hope this helps 😀
Yes! Most of the time I build and sell furniture and end grain cuttingboards though. I started making pipes about 1.5 years ago, I make them with very simple tools and briar root. Which is the premium speices of wood for pipes. It all started as a hobby when a friend (who smokes sometimes) wanted a pipe and I made him one in exchange for a really nice juice blender, and then more people wanted pipes. Long answer, but now you know 🙂
Back seat youtubers are the worst thing for your channel... make the videos how you like. If it's not you who's making the video, is it gonna be Clem from West Virginia who's favorite holiday is Halloween? Of course it's because he can Pump-kin... Anyway, forget about all the inbreds in the comments. Putting yourself in the videos and not others ideas will ensure that you don't end up not liking your own content... Great video!
I will make videos I would watch myself. Thank you for the support. I enjoy your comment and i'm glad you took the time to tell me this. More videos are coming soon 😀
Keep doing exactly what you're doing. Don't listen to ignorant people who think you need to speak native English to make videos. Also, I like to hear your thought process while you're working.
Thank you for this. I myself enjoy similar videos 😀
First of all, you speak great English.personally, I find the commentary quite helpful and somewhat entertaining. Keep doing what you’re doing. Your pipes are quite nice 👊🏻
This pipe was the best so far. Thank you a lot for the feedback! More videos are coming soon 😀
This is simply exquisite, i think you've given me a new hobby to try delving into. Thank you for you comment!
Thank you for your pipe making work. I have been wanting to get going with it lately for a couple projects and they have helped get me moving!
It is my pleasure. I'm glad it helps people with the process. 😀
Beautiful pipe and really inspiring video! Keep up the great work! 💯
Thanks! More are coming soon! :)
Thank you for this inspirational video. I have recently begun to diddle with pipes and already am a hobbiest woodworker. I'm off to order some brier root and pipe stems.

Great job on the pipe I am new to pipe smoking and I would like to make my own pipes someday. You do a great job of narrating your videos.
Thank you! Just order some briar root and get going. It is a really rewarding process 😀
Excellent all around. People can be crude. But you are amazing.!! Thanks for your hard work dedication and transparency on this subject.
I do my best to include as much details as possible. I'm glad i can inspire people to start making their own (or to buy a pipe from me..)
Thank you for your comment. It means a lot for me 🙂
@ great work. Keep inspiring!
@@theodoregreen687 I will try!
Beautiful pipe, reminds me of a chanterelle mushroom
Exactly the shape i tried to make. Best mushroom ever.
I think your English is fine, keep doing what you are doing on your videos.
This feedback is great! There will be more videos soon :)
Thank you for this video. I always wanted to make my own pipe and this has inspired me to do so. The explanation helps a lot.
Very good! Please send photos of your creations later. Find yourself some good briar root and get going. You won't regret making a own pipe.
Good luck! 🫡
Thank you for the hard work!
No worries. More videos are coming.
Great video... Keep up the good work. May you one day get to Northern Sweden, build your rustic cabin and smoke plenty of handmade pipes..... Thank you

@HallbeamDesign I will! Maybe after Christmas when I have some spare money though! Lol
@Bridgercraft one piece of briar usually goes for about 5-10 dollars. A perfect christmas gift.
@HallbeamDesign any idea of a good source that ships to the UK?
@Bridgercraft www.janzen-pfeifen.de a german website. Payment through paypal. I recieve my order to sweden in 3-6 days

Great! Thank you. Soon there will be another one.
Very good work my friend. I enjoy your videos and your attention to detail. That oioe is gorgeous by the way and i fell in love with the style of it.

I find that your English is very understandable, and seems fluent.
I spend a lot of time trying to make the videos fluent. Thank you for this.
a cozy relaxing 17mins , thank you
You're welcome!
I enjoyed this video
Great! Thanks for this feedback 😀
Wow great job
Thank you!
This was a very informative and interesting video. I have had no problem understanding your narration. Please continue.
This is really good feedback. Thank you 🙂
Great video, I love your dry sense of humor.

It has been a pleasure.
Thanks for the terrific explanation and excellent craftsmanship.
I need to go find some suitable wood and see what I can create.
Thank you and good luck! It is great fun :)
Nice work!

some people are not happy with them selves ,, your english really good
I believe you are correct about the part where people are not happy with themselves. Thank you for this comment :)
Your videos are great just as they are. Thank you for showing the process
I hope this video gets people inspired :) Thank you for your comment!
I enjoy pipe making videos. This was a good one.
Thank you! Me too! There will be more videos like this soon 🙂
Enjoyed your video, liked your voice, explanation how you do things. Realy liked your sarcastic'ish joke 🙂 anyway - good job making videos

Amazing looking pipe, I don't pipe smoke, but I really appreciate the craft!
We are the same! I also don't smoke pipes and really enjoy making these.
Thanks for your comment.
I’m enjoying the series, you’re a good inspiration
This is my main goal with the channel! I glad to hear this from you.
Love it
Me too!
I appreciate the walk through and every part of this being shown. Off to buy my own kit
I all begins with buying tools..
Thank you!
@ order placed. Never can have too many tools!
@John-or8kf there is always room for more tools. A big tablesaw is easy to maintain and could be used as a dining table.
I'm only 5 minutes in but KEEP MAKING VIDEOS! Your voice is great, your explanations are wonderful and you do a great job of showing what you're doing and telling the viewer why (and/or how) it's done. Good stuff, keep it coming please!

I'm still here! 12 minutes in and watching the oiling. So pretty!!! Thank you for what you do.
@@AbbySorenson You have a great attention span!
Hello very cool, thanks for sharing 👋🔥☁️🇦🇹
Thank Mr Pipe man.
More videos are coming soon 😀
A minimalist pipe making set:
4. A used powertool like a dremel och anglegrinder (with a sanding wheel)
5. A handsaw (to remove bulk material)
I started out with very simple tools and managed 🙂
Hope this helps!
@ that’s very helpful, thank you!
beautiful work sir!
Thank you! I was very satisfied with the end result 🙂
Brilliant work.
Thank you! Have been thinking about making one of these for a long time 😀
Mycket snygg design!
Tack! Det kommer bli fler av denna :)
Rest easy, my friend, there is a 99.999% chance that the people who remark on your English could not speak Swedish if their petty lives depended on it. I enjoy your videos and thank you for posting them! I find them very inspiring!
Curious how you feel about using a wire brush for bark removal?
Thank you friend! I often use wire when doing "bigger" projects. It is really fast. Probably should buy a small one for the dremel :)
I bought a drill press for 25 bucks. It definitely helps hold my phone while drill freehand
I see where this is going 😀
@HallbeamDesign great video btw
@redbearworkshop3219 Thanks man! This is very rewarding to hear.
Please keep the voice over, your videos have such a calmness with it ❤
I'm happy the voiceover seems to be the most wanted alternative. New video will be uploaded soon! 😀
Don't stop narrating your videos. You have a perfectly understandable English speaking voice, and the videos would lose their charm if it was just text on screen or another narrator.
100% Bilingual charm. I'm happy that 99% is "pro" narrating these videos. Thank you a lot for this 😀
It sounds like English.
It looks like a pipe.
Please countinue!
Cheers!
Effective feedback!
Thank you for this 😀
Thanks. I look forward to what you do next
@lexhunt7689 No worries! There will soon come more videos regarding this 😀
🤣"So I can learn how to identify those people from a distance so I don't have to meet such a person." Great video! Thank you!
Yes! Irony and sarcasm is humor for smart people.
Keep talking! I wasn't sure I wanted to hear about the pimples part until you got to the punchline. Ha! Very interesting and helpful video.
Thank you! I will continue to make a voiceover for all of the videos.
I recently had another encounter with those videos. They are the worst 😀
where do you get your briarwood from? Is there a specific website? Thanks for the video!
Janzen-pfeifen.de
A german website. Delivers in 3-6 days. 😀
Great video. I agree pimple popping videos are gross.
Finally!
2:39 where do you get your stems?
Janzen-pfeifen.de a german website.
Thanks so much!@@HallbeamDesign
@JacobLehman-ov4eu no worries! I always respond to all my comments 🙂
Mate, could you send a link or describe the oil and wax/resin you use to “cake” the pipe to make it smokable?
Carnauba wax. Is available in many stores.
@HallbeamDesign thanks friend! Love from the USA and may God bless your endeavors. Smoke up!
@@psychedeliccyclistrn3111 Thank you! God bless America 🙂
Do you sell pipes
Long answer, but now you know 🙂
English is ok, voice is good. "I myself" might be just a TINY bit overused.... but that's nit picking. Please continue just like you have been.
I myself think that you are right after review 🙂
250$ Gods just for that
It's all about finding the right customers.
That Dremel is way too big.
There are smaller variants, but this one is really powerful! Which is a big factor for me.
