My boss came by around a month ago, one button was completely off, and the other one was pushed into the controller chip on his key fob. But I managed to solder on those tiny buttons back on. I have the AiXun T3A soldering station with the 245 handle, and I used my android phone camera as a microscope to zoom in. 😅That feeling you get when you fix something never gets old.
@@supersilverhazeroker You can get the most inexpensive stuff on the market, it's enough for a beginner ;) Soldering iron with a thin tip, a iron tip cleaner, great quality flux (Amtech or so). Optionally a hot air station for BGA/QFN and some wick to clean solder real good. You can get all of that under hundred dollars, it won't be great but it's enough! At the end of the day you need steady hands. A microscope is some great comfort for a professional and necessary for the most difficult jobs like fixing HDMI traces or so. You can still have fun at any level! If you like it you can move on to high quality equipment like what Northridge Fix does sell ;)
I enjoy watching you every time you make a new video. You are very smart man. Thanks for posting videos. It’s very educational and entertaining . I recently ordered for you. Let me say your selection of products you sell are exceptional!! God bless and have a awesome day Alex and Big Boss. He doesn’t say much, but, he’s the best!!
I'm an automotive locksmith and yes we have testers. They test the frequency and the IR. Xhorse just came out with a new one which I have. This one can also check the signal from the door and ignition. Pretty cool stuff.
AOA I Am very glad to see that you are our muslim brother and very very talented. Although its very difficult to do repairs without ckt diagrams but using very simple yet powerful techniques. Thanks Allah bless you. Wr r u from basically.
Awesome work Alex and Big Boss.. I wish I could work with yall sigh I'm in Alaska. Dang lol. This week I'll order with your product for repair my project iPad Air 4 that I need learn be professional repair replacement hdmi with my 2 iPad Air 4 lol. You are my idol Alex and big boss. Smile 😊
That sucked! Jk always making it look easy. Btw wanted let you know that my shop has sent out about 50+ repaired bms’ using the traces and solder mask from your shop. Love ‘em both so far, and the little light is super convenient.
Once the circuit board is removed from the case on these fobs getting them to work again is problematic... It's caused by the board not touching the terminals correctly in new cases... Putting them back into their old cases doesn't work well either
I don't think they necessarily fail more than other comprable key fobs. It is just that they are so pricey to replace, it makes economical sense to repair them vs getting a new one.

I have never done nor have any intention of ever doing any micro soldering. Yet I admire the skill and watch every video.
i would like to try it, but i'm not going to buy all the equipment just to try it and find out nahh this is not for me.

Hello Alex 👋 your smile after every repair is very beautiful. 👍

Another great job. I don't think the layman realises just how small the components you work with really are. Great skills as usual.
Do you ever remove component that is in your way, and solder it back after?
No testing of the fob, this time? 😯
I am still amazed with Your business model of rebranding and reselling tools that You use and show on this channel. Brilliant, no nonsense approach ;)
That was a lot of flux getting inside of that tact switch.
Is there a way to test fob to see if it's emitting a signal before returning to customer?
He does use a gizmo for testing them in other videos if you look back I guess he was too busy to include it in this vid

Solid. Solid. Solid.
i was thinking same where is solid solid solid
Indeed lol 😂
ALSO. BETTER THAN FACTORY
LOL MY FAVOR HIS QUOTE. BETTER THAN FACTORY LOL 😂😊
You didn't check the fixed Benz FOB for it's IR working. Now I am one of those people that you talk about
AOA

I really enjoy your work. Very relaxing to wstch a master of his craft fo his thing.
I wonder if removing the switch would have provided enough room to use the mini pen?
Nice video. Great work. You must really be quick with such a plastic-component. But you know how to do it right because of your experience. Greets
Wouldn't be easier to remove the switch to have room to solder the IR emitter?
Just making more work
@@CiderPang27It's barely "work". Removing the switch and using 63/37 by hand would take me the same time as him setting up everything for hot air
Very good job ,your hot station is Quick 861DW ?
nice job👍👍
Is there anyway I get scheduled to get my CLS 500 Keith repair?
👍👍
Wow just beautiful!
Hi Alex, didn't you solder the original one back on boadr instead of the donor?
Easier and quicker to remove the component next to where the ir emitter goes surely? No risk of damaging anything with heat gun too
Very good job 👍👍👍
Interesting video, great work 👍
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, alex🙌
You’re such a Badazz Brotha ❤.
Great fast job .
Great video and some good tips as always Alex thank you .
Good job mate 👍
how come u dont use an ultrasonic cleaner?

perfect wishig you greater success god bless all you family
I have the same issue. Can you help me fix it please!
Perfect work 👍
I would call this video "I don't want to use low melt solder" even though it would be easier for this technique.
Awesome aa always, thank you.
What, No test?
amazing jon better that factory
I could 100 percent put an IR LED in here and just go with it
If you were hard pressed and no air station you could have lifted the near by component and used a iron but extra work doesn’t get it done quicker 😊
i wanted to see the IR light to proof its fixed!
That sucked! Jk always making it look easy. Btw wanted let you know that my shop has sent out about 50+ repaired bms’ using the traces and solder mask from your shop. Love ‘em both so far, and the little light is super convenient.
Imagine having the " balls" to tell Alex when not to use low melt solder.

I’m seeing an unfamiliar gadget hanging with red digital numbers, I’ve seen it for a while now i can’t wait for it’s official launch
Awesome
I did not realize that (until now in this video) if you use a sharpie to mark a chip, the letters/numbers on the chip will be more readable :)
Came in for repair.
Better than factory 🙂
Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
my eyes the uv hurts, but another great job.
What happened to the "we only do what the customer asked for" philosophy? He wanted low melt solder.
I recommend ship some down here in nigeria and we would do a great sale
💯❤
I see a subscriber with a lot of UA-cam hours on your channel 😂😂😂😂
☕👌
Sir I am Indian
Needless German nightmare technology, a plain metal key lasted the life of the car, was cheap to copy, and worked just as well.
Mental note to myself: Never purchase a Mercedes-Benz or Audi; the key fobs S$&K.
I don't think they necessarily fail more than other comprable key fobs. It is just that they are so pricey to replace, it makes economical sense to repair them vs getting a new one.
Still using my original MB "smart key" from 1999. Just don't drop them
That is why I don't drive mercedes and not because I am homeless.
