We discovered another missing component that connects the two legs of the 3-pin component we replaced. I’m unsure of its role in the circuit or how it affects functionality, especially since the fob tested fine. The component was a 1M resistor, which we replaced using a donor board.
As you fix these, do you take hi-res photos once you're done so you can simply look at those next time instead of trying to find a donor to get the part values? It could save you a hell of a lot of time and just save the images on your PC.
You should have a timer that starts at the beginning of diagnosis, and ends when you find the culprit of the malfunction on the product. It'd be interesting to see how efficiently one method of finding a problem on an electronic platform is vs another. Great work! Keep up the hard work!
my 98 w202 main key hasn't been able to turn the ignition for years now. i use the flat spare key to start the car. It's a very early version of the electronic key(no chrome or any decoration). It's symetrical at the bottom unlike the w203 keys and has a key blade that slides out the tip and becomes an extension of the key rather than come out the bottom and used separately. ive never seen you or anyone else on youtube work on in terms of replacing components etc. It's got a little glass ball at the tip like a tv remote ir transmitter. and the coil windings are right around the sort of housing where the ir transmitter be at. Can you do a video on one of those please.
Hi everyone, I'm experiencing an issue with my key fob's battery life. When I first purchased the key fob, the battery would last about a year. However, after three years of use, the battery life reduced to six months. Now, it's only lasting about two weeks. I'd appreciate any insights or suggestions on what might be causing this rapid battery drain. Thanks in advance!

Glad you caught that! I was like, "Wait, there is one more!"
Thank you for answer my question from yesterday

New sub here. This is super fun to watch.
Thanks again for an awesome video 👍 Where do you find donor fobs and cards?

Second coil is for keyless go (Button in the ignition instead of key) and start.
You are the best of the rest

It tries to escape to 9th dimension 😂😂. Needs to go on diet . No flux for you 😂😂. 🙏🏻✌🏻
You'd be trying to escape too if Alex was going to push your legs into molten solder. 🙂
Did we just unlock a new Alex-ism? "No flux for you". 12:17 😂
new expression "I don't give a flux"
@@muzmalek2124 should do a t-shirt merch on this or maybe a lanyard
shipping you flux to Norway?
I thought you were going to say that you didn’t use the flux to harm the components!
