Great video but a couple of things about printing directly to the SG-500. The reason you should go through the Sawgrass Print manager is because if you print straight to the printer, not only are the color pallets messed up like you said, but the ink saturation levels are incorrect as well. So if you print directly to the printer, you will end up wasting ink and your colors will not be correct. You can still print directly from Photoshop and other programs, but when you print, instead of selecting the SG-500 as your printer, select the Sawgrass Print Manager as the printer which will load the Sawgrass program and you can print from there like you do when you use the online Sawgrass software. You still save time by bypassing the online software, but if you print directly to the printer and bypass the Sawgrass Print Manager, your colors will be messed up and you will waste too much ink. Hope this helps.

Dope video, I find that it only lags when the print manager is open for a while. Quit /close the Print Manager, then try the print again. I did this 2x and the “PM” opened much quicker. Hope this helps, much love & respect - ✌🏼

One thing I was thinking about the issue he is having is Print Manager window may be opening behind the design area window. I would try giving it the amount of time you would any app or new tab opening then minimize the Design Area Tab I haven’t watched the whole video so this issue may get addressed before it ends, but if not that might be it.

I’ve been playing around with mines for about 2 weeks I love it there’s endless possibilities all depends on the imagination,now with that said the issues I have are the following 1.i hate that the software is online 2.once you turn the printer on it has to stay on to keep the heads from drying out and the extra downside to that is when this on it does Maintanace which clean the heads and create waste for your tray,in one week of being powered on I had 12% of waste in my waste container and at this point I only printed about 3 thing cause I have the starter ink. 3.print manager is slow and weird. 4.i can’t install the software on my MacBook Pro it’s blocking the install I’m sure it’s human error but everything works on my PC and finally 5.my prints come out slightly crooked and my paper tray is accurate my images are centered from photo shop so idk what the issue could be

Another thing you mentioned an i noticed in his video is the fact that it has to be connected online also to work with what happens when their website is down? I have my Sawgrass printer connected directly to my desktop computer and I timed how long it took to print once I dropped my design into PM. It took about 21 seconds to print. My Epson printer that’s uses the WiFi takes around 7 seconds to print. I didn’t want to two printers on the WiFi, plus additional devices using that is already using the WiFi such as: iPhones, laptops, and iPad. I’m okay with 21 seconds.
I have a sawgrass500 and have be printing the perfect mugs. Stated on T-shirt now but the colours are particularly bright. Any tips or advise ? I’m using Affinity design software and I set the printing instructions correctly. Heat press is set to 370f, for 60 seconds and medium/ firm pressure.
Sometimes i have to double clikc and bouble click the PM to get it open. Sometimes is opened even if the SG Studio isn't open, sometimes not. But there is usefull and current data of the inks and waiste tank. You can use also basic printer paper. I used that when i made my wall sheet for item pics.

When you just clicked the print manager icon at (10:21) there was an error message at the bottom " one or more of the jobs doesn't fit the current page layout" Not sure if that is the issue or not but might be something to check out

Dark colors and sublimation is a no. I’d doesn’t work unfortunately. That is the limitation of sublimation. For dark colors you have to use a different method. Sublimation will not work.
The sawgrass sg500 is essentially a printer just like the Epson 7720. The only real difference to the best of my knowledge is one comes with sublimation ink so it’s labeled a sublimation printer. (The sg500) where as the Epson 7720 is advertised as a regular printer and comes with regular inkjet ink cartridges. But you can buy sublimation ink separately and convert it into a sublimation printer. The sg500 seems to be easier because they have software that has the setting built in so that you don’t have to figure out the color profiles in which ever software your using to make the 7720 print out you image properly. As far as an hp printer. It’s an hp printer. Your asking if a printer is compatible with a printer. So no. A printer is not compatible with a printer. Pick one and use it.

I am trying to decide between SG1000 and the Epson f570. I may buy the one from Sawgrass but I really want Epson one because it is 24” wide BUT it’s on backorder. Do you believe Sawgrass delivers better quality?

I don’t have the f570 so it would be unfair for me to say the sawgrass is better also a huge part of the quality is going to be determined by the ink and the paper you use. If you get crappy ink and paper that can’t absorb ink well then you could have the best printer in the world it wouldn’t matter. You can’t put 89 in a Ferrari and expect it to perform just because it’s a Ferrari. You know. I think both would deliver great quality. I’d say bro if you have the money to spend just get that Epson. If you wanna hurry up and get started do what you gotta do and use my link when you do it. You can always upgrade later.

What kind of sublimation paper are you using bro. I’m trying. It’s my first time using sg500. I’ve printed from silhouette cameo it’s faded when it comes out. I got dyemaster sub paper and two other ones. What’s the best. What do use.
The problem is you are printing from silhouette studio. When printing sublimation you need the correct settings for sublimation paper. The settings tell the printer how much ink to let out onto the paper. If you use sawgrass creator studio you don’t have to worry about all that because it’s already set up for you. Use creator studio.

I agree.....I think that's an issue. These systems are far too expensive to have issues with wait time to print. That's crazy!!!!!

Do you need to pre-treat the fabric at all? Once you've printed your design...can it go into the washing machine pretty much straight away?
No pre-treat. They go threw tons of washes with no fade. After cooling down I think they can go directly into the wash yes.

Your Welcome. I use that to measure how far down from the neckline my design should be. Normally four fingers down.

If you get crappy ink and paper that can’t absorb ink well then you could have the best printer in the world it wouldn’t matter. You can’t put 89 in a Ferrari and expect it to perform just because it’s a Ferrari. You know. I think both would deliver great quality. I’d say bro if you have the money to spend just get that Epson. If you wanna hurry up and get started do what you gotta do and use my link when you do it. You can always upgrade later.

Yes. 8.5 by 17 when you extend the tray unfortunately. I’ll be getting the SG1000 soon. That one one is 11” wide.

A cricut is vinyl this is a totally different method. This is sublimation. No weeding.

Where did you buy your sawgrass from? What company and are you using creator studio to print or another software.

What kind of sublimation paper are you using bro. I’m trying. It’s my first time using sg500. I’ve printed from silhouette cameo it’s faded when it comes out. I got dyemaster sub paper and two other ones. What’s the best. What do use.
The problem is you are printing from silhouette studio. When printing sublimation you need the correct settings for sublimation paper. The settings tell the printer how much ink to let out onto the paper. If you use sawgrass creator studio you don’t have to worry about all that because it’s already set up for you. Use creator studio.
