It is a competition for already established artists which alone should guarantee a higher quality. Also they have a better setup with live orchestra and backing vocals and then it is mandatory to have minimum one and maximum two of their own songs. This forces the artist to show that they can rearrange other songs as they won't last long by just singing a cover too close to the original.
