Just so you know, Tengri had retired from singing when his little girl died of cancer. When he was invited to come to the 2018 Singer, he did some adjustments to this song. It is about his homesickness for his country but also it is a tribute to his daughter. There is a line, it goes something like My girl, wait for me in Heaven. He had an emotional time singing this song, which is why you see people like Jeffery crying. It's truly a stunning performance.
HuaHua loves music so much, he’s such a groupie 😂❤️❤️. His family used to Tengri a lot and he was his father’s idol.
Indeed Tengri was in the same Singer 2018 edition as KZ and HuaHua. HuaHua was challenged to rearrange Tengri's Heaven in 24H in the show The Next in 2017, a year before he got to meet Tengri in person. HuaHua rearranged Heaven into a completely different song with the same lyrics, hope you can react to it next, that would be great. Tengri's Heaven is this powerful, raw and angry song about his Inner Mongolia (Inner Mongolia is a Chinese province, it's not the country Mongolia) being ravaged by technology, Hua turned it into a heavenly paradise.
He is like a wolf king leading wolves on the prairie!

In fact, in the earliest version, this is a Mongolian-style folk rock created by Tengger, with a relatively simple theme of traditional Mongolian songs and a very popular arrangement. This song was a Top song in China's pop charts around 2000.
After Tengger experienced the death of his child and stopped release new music for a long time, he finally got out of his pain, and his voice became more controlled and emotional. This song contains numerous backgrounds and elements that can make people feel sympathy (to Chinese, there will be more feelings that can resonate here).
This is the reason why this simple pop song has become so rich in connotation and fascinating.
On the multiple empathy of Chinese people when they hear this song;
1. The first floor, this is an old popular song from the late 1990s, and old songs always bring memories.
2. On the second floor, the vocal skills, melody and musical instruments in this song are all typical Mongolian national styles. From 1990s to around 2000, national styles and frontier customs were the tourist destinations dreamed by the hard-working Chinese workers, which made people recall rural life and vast nature.
3. Third, since 1990s, Chinese people have left the countryside to seek high-paying jobs in distant cities on a large scale. Memories of their hometown and nature are the psychology that they can't get rid of after fast-paced work.
4. On the fourth floor, the gradually unrecoverable countryside, hometown and relatives, and Tengger singer's own experience have made the regrets and sighs of Chinese blue-collar and white-collar workers with certain life experience feel a resonance.
This is the reason why most Chinese people over the age of 30 can't help crying after hearing half of the song. For those who don't know Chinese contemporary culture, this song is exotic and has strong feelings, but for Chinese people, these sentiments and feelings are completely coupled with real life.

Another interesting group from Mongolia is the "HU" (who). They combine traditional instruments and throat singing into a metal rock genre. My favorite song is Sugaan Essena (Original Music from "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It is actual sung in a made up language for Star Wars. They preform this song in a studio setting. Of course all of their videos are epic it is hard to chose just one. Enjoy your life, enjoy your music, find someone to love wholeheartedly. But most of all enjoy your own uniqueness in the world.

Laughing when you said… «i have to learn from this guy» That was exactly what HCY did… Tengger taught him the rounded(?) oooo technique. Some sort of overtone singing, and he has since used it in his own songs several times. Like in 7 Personalities.

Lol, have no idea where she found her info but please forgive her bc she's a 8 yr old girl. I'm truly sorry that she posted it without my knowledge. Because of Dimash on I Am Singer we are now discovering lots of other amazing singers completely different from what we hear in the west.
I rarely listen to the usual singers anymore. It’s Dimash mainly, but Hua, Tengri, there is a Mongolian folk singer group (can’t remember their name, but they back Dimash and Tengri on a song called Swan Goose, Please check that out.

Btw, Hua learned a singing tip from Tengri and used it in few of his performances. And yes, Hua's expression when he is impressed his is adorable.
