Say what you want about the relationships between the Beach Boys, for a group of guys in their 80's, they can carry the music and knock the songs out of the park. Saw the tour in Bangor, Maine, and loved every second of it.
My wife and I saw them in White Plains, NY. As we drove to the parking lot, we noticed all the old fans (like us!) 2:41 walking to the venue. Great show.
I used to sing along to all these songs when I was young. My brother took pity on me and taught me the car terms that I couldn't get because I didn't understand them.
misskitty1235..... "409"(cubic inches)... was Chevy.... Not Found On Road, Dead (FORD)!! lol The Only "v8" in the 64/65 "Stang" was the 289ci.... and "possibly" the "260ci" in 1964, which Ford had in the 1963 & 64 Falcon Sprint. They also had the "250"ci "small 6" (with the integrated intake manifold). The 240 & 300ci 6 cylinders would have been Far stouter choices. Six in a row... can definitely "go"... with the right parts!
There are other groups that are eternal, too. And there are ones like Paul McCartney who will live forever because of their music. Love the Beach Boys.
Mike didn’t like the fact that some abused drugs & alcohol & things were changing musically so they fell out but Mike’s voice is the original sound of summer & the Beach Boys , iconic .
They are still awesome dude! Hard to tell any difference when I first heard them sing these great songs. When I got back from the Nam, first thing I did is buy a ‘69 Firebird and “git around”
Just saw them alive for the fourth time in 2023. They were amazing. Also I've noticed nobody is writing any cool songs about these hybrids or electric cars.
I was in the Service in Norfolk in 1970 when The Beach Boys came to town . An unknown group known as the Eagles opened for them . The Eagles sounded exactly like the vinyl. They sounded great . I am 68 years old. I smile ear to ear when I hear this performance. Growing up in the 70s in the prime of my young age, I only wish I could revisit again. We had best music options We just didn’t know it we had the Beach boys. We had Led Zeppelin. We had disco if you prefer. We could go out on a Friday night to outside beach party listen to The Beach Boys or Led Zeppelin and then Saturday night we go to New York City and disco dressed to the 9s. The 70s were the best era to grow up in.
And the 70s I was in my early 20s so I loved and appreciated that music just as much as I did in the early to late 50s far as I’m concerned I was born in the most perfect era of my life 1950 or to the car dealership as a teenagerseen all the muscle cars hitting their prime there was SS 396 Chevelle’s on the car lot 427 three carburetor Corvettes with side pipes a car that still impresses me to this day
I don't know how many times I have watched this video and others over and over again, but it Never gets old. Wish we could listen to this for another 50 years. someone will be able to after we are all gone. So glad David Marks was part of this as he was there at the beginning. We still miss Carl and Dennis. This music will never die.
David Marks is on the Surfer Girl album I think. I had it in 1963. Shows the boys all carrying one long surfboard, right? Now days we only have Brian. Mike, Al Jardine and David Marks, David is tall and always wears dark glasses when performing, right?
@@michaelgmoore5708 David is on the first four albums and yes he is shown with the others carrying the board. He was about 13 at the time, Love was the oldest, about 21. Brain is the tallest, Love is next, David is about the same height. David is usually wearing a cap and dark shades and has a goatee. David and Carl started taking lessons and playing together around age 10-12 and actually introduced that surfing guitar sound to the boys. Don't forget Bruce is also a Beach Boy, although not a founding member.
This coming May I will be 74 years old. I grew up with these guys love their music and was highly aggravated when the British ovation hit and all it was about was Beatles and Rolling Stones. I enjoy all of the music now, but I was very prejudice as a young teenager, when the beach boys had to take a backseat to the British invasion
Yeah, well I love them too, but there's like 5-10 guys behind them making it sound so good. They're not machines, but Mike's voice still pretty good in this one!
Since I was just entering high school in California right when the Beach Boys exploded out of Hawthorne, CA I understand their cultural impact and how they epitomize an America that was fun, bright and full of optimism. Even my grandchildren love their music and to play their tunes loud in the car.
At 75yo I always play the Beach Boys when i have to do dreaded house work. Wow, house is clean, laundry and dishes done before i realize it. Always energizing!
Saw these guys live at a concert at Buffalo Springs Lake Texas with my grandma in the early 1990's. 90 year old grandma was dancing like she was 16! Great time!
Truly legends and I'm glad they were able to come together for this concert. Even given their ages, their vocals are amazing. Watch Love & Mercy and see how much this family struggled. Incredible that they were able to achieve what they did given their upbringing.
I did see the movie, it was truly unbelievable what happened to them. So much by the father's hand. Dennis is gone, Carl is gone, but the spirit of the Beach Boys still lives on!
Brian Wilson I'm SOOOO proud of you after all you've been through !!! The Beach Boys will always be my favorite first music when I was SOOOO into street and drag strip racing !! MAAANNNN WHATTTTT a wild and fun time in my life !!!!!
back in the days I was 11yo my sister 23yo had a 65 convertible Pontiac with a 409ci engin, she would take me shopping and remember still,,the beach boys from those days and they still soud the same!!
What a great, great band, I saw them live three times in the 70's. My favorite Beach Boy Carl, may he rest in place, what a voice, no one better. He would have loved to have done this and a salute to Brian, stay well.
Face it, all you naysayers, The guys are old as dirt, yeah. But they are still doing what they always have. Just with a little more help than in years gone by. It's great to see the old friends. I'm glad all of you made it I had a very life-threatening severe stroke. To hear that again to see them again brings tears to my eyes.
They are a very important part of music history . America - sure but they where big hits ALL over the world There are not many who write the history of the world's music .Long live the Beach boys
Saw them at a concert at a Drag Strip in Cincinnati, when they sang, Help me Rhonda, my friends put me on top of a garbage can and danced around me! Had such a good time!
I went to 2 of their concerts in the 1980s, one in a thunderstorm with pouring rain. Nobody left. I was standing in water over my ankles. Roger McGuinn of the Byrds was the opening act. The teenagers in the crowd had no idea who he was.
So nice to see this without all the infighting within all the guys back in those days. Reminds me of Huntington Beach Pier Main and PCH back in the day.70's 80's.
Always loved these guys growing up in California especially in the 60's and 70's. When I went into the Army in 1980 listening to these guys really helped with the home sickness. I could put on one of their tapes or records and close my eyes and I would feel like I was in California again.
Thats ok, we got 'em. East Coast in the House! 1976 was THE year...and we all know the words. We can carry it if need be! 64 and the neighbors'll hear this one. Beach Boys were class of 77's Prom songs...
Been a Beach Boys fan all my life. Saw them years ago at Otis AFB on Cape Cod, then here in central Florida 2 years ago. They still sound terrific. Awesome harmony.
Any band that can stick around for as long as these guys have deserve nothing less than legendary status. I can't wait to see them next Thursday especially since their newest guitarist is someone I can loosely call an old friend John wedemeyer. This man plays a phenomenal guitar. Keep your eyes on them with John playing expect a comeback in popularity. He's that Good.
I saw the Beach Boys in the early to mid 60s in Austin when no one would play there from the national touring acts. I remember they brought Chad & Jeremy, Herman's Hermits and The Loving Spoonful as guest artists. Great times.
Watching this reminds me of the competition between the Beach Boys and the Beatles. Both groups produced some of the greatest music ever, but it was the competition that pushed them to expand the boundaries.
My dad was fixing their AC in their hotel room during a tour and pretended he didn't know The Beach Boys. Until they started asking him questions and he replied no, they were flabbergasted until he spilled the beans on their faces. LOL
They were so cool! Even my kids today like them! When I was listening to them, my son asked who they were, so I told him, and he's 23, and hes developtmentally delayed, and he loves them!
I haven't heard one band this old sound this good! These guys are timeless and still sound like they did 50 yrs ago! Harmony is perfect! Love it, what music is allllllll about!
Dang the memories. Not just of the wonderful music but also my days when I built my own high horse powered Barracuda. Yeah, I got around the town and on the quarter mile.
It is so fun to listen to music you can actually understand the lyrics. Makes me smile.
Awesome 😊❤

Good job, Mom.
I was there, at the Hollywood Bowl, June 2, 2012!!! The absolute coolest concert ever!!!!
I am so proud of Brian getting up onstage after all he's been through :)

I had a friend in Michigan had same kinda thing happend to him ! My heart says happy he's still here ! Been listening to them sense the early 60s 👍
Brian still had an awesome voice back then
The beach boys sing songs about street racing 😊

True!!
I saw them in concert 1966 or '67. I loved the Beach Boys...wasn't even into The Beatles Invasion. I had all their early LB records.
This is still today's music to me.
I wish I could've been there to witness those times!

LOL
Beach Boys!☆☆☆☆☆ totally Awesome ~~~ music 🎶 Universal language
I meet people in their 80's who love the Beach Boys... Immortal music!
@@user-fangflyer1 I am 86 and still would rather hear them than the new ones
I went to catch their gig in Missoula, 5 years ago.
Although they're getting up there in years,
they're still goin' strong.
This is the REAL ROCK AND ROLL
Absolutely....
They were so cool! Even my kids today like them! When I was listening to them, my son asked who they were, so I told him, and he's 23, and hes developtmentally delayed, and he loves them!
im only 14 and i love Chuck Berry, ZZ Top, Buddy Holly, The Who, The Beach Boys, Tom Petty, etc and i love the oldies Mary Ellen Peterson
I haven't heard one band this old sound this good! These guys are timeless and still sound like they did 50 yrs ago! Harmony is perfect! Love it, what music is allllllll about!
Good music never gets old and old music only gets better. Thanks for all the memories.
Dang the memories. Not just of the wonderful music but also my days when I built my own high horse powered Barracuda. Yeah, I got around the town and on the quarter mile.
This brings back memories of the 60's and when I was a car guy back in the time.
