  • I've been meaning to do this video for a while now. I figured now is as good a time as any to share my personal coming out story. It is my hope that someone out there will be able to relate to my video and realize that they aren't alone...

    Mothers crack me up when they act as though they did not know their son is gay, they know they just don't want to believe their son is Gay! No one can judge just love people!!!!!! Can you do my hair?

      Same with my step mom. My step brother was never exactly in the closet. I didn't realize that his mom didn't know until he officially "came out". I thought it was just mutually understood. I was a lot younger than him, didn't talk to him nearly as much as his mom, but I knew he was gay within the first 5 minutes of meeting him.
      I think a lot of older black women have absolutely no gaydar or believe that being gay is something that "only whites do". I also think black women's lack of gaydar is the reason why so many black men can get away with being "down low" without women suspecting. Black women hold on to the stereotype of "hyper masculine black men" worse than whites people, (not that a gay man can't be masculine but black women identify masculinity with heterosexuality). So the idea of a black man being gay doesn't compute or they believe that he is making a choice just to piss people off.

      It took years for my dad and step mom to finally accept my step bro. It's hard for me to get along with them due to how they treated him. And my step bro was an adult man instead of a teen. To treat a teen that way is so inexcusable

      My aunt was upset at me because she thought i told the church her son was gay 😂😫 The church knew he was gay, and she knew he was gay before he knew he was gay.

    It takes a brave person to do what you did by coming out, knowing that some people would have problems with it. I wish you happiness and peace in your life and relationships. You're a young man, so you still have a lot of life to live. Live it with no regrets!! God loves us all (straight or gay) and don't let anyone try to tell you different. Thanks for sharing your story!!

    You didn't mention your dad. How did he react to your coming out? I think blacks struggle with homosexuality due to the strict religious background. There is a documentary called The New Black which I encourage everyone to watch. It deals with the attitudes towards homosexuality in the black community.

    I'm proud of you for accepting who you are. But I really don't care who you love. The last thing I think about is who someone else is having sex with, be it race, weight, color, gender, or orientation. Just be happy.

    I know this completely off topic but how do you keep your minis stretched out without them unraveling? I spent hours mini twisting my hair and before I went to bed I dampened theme and them braiding them to stretch them. They started to unravel in 2 days. I have to do them over. What am I doing wrong? And about your coming out dont let what others think get you down. Its about what is in your heart. You are a good person whether you are gay or not and that is what matter.

  • @MSEDzirasa2015

    typo in line 4 'NOPT' = 'NOT'
    God knew Narada's personality before he was even born. You may choose to believe it or not.That's your problem...He belongs to God no matter what you think or say. The bible says this & that you always quote. But men wrote the bible and fed it to us.I am a scholar; I know that there is no righteous person in this world. We are all saved by grace. The Catholic church is a clear example that Gays have been in existence since time begun. You are answered. PEACE OUT!

    The words "CHOICE & LIFESTYLE" must never be used when talking about gay people b'cuz it is neither. The pathology that drives our sexuality is so deeply embedded within our psyche & determined by chromosomes. (get it?). A lifestyle is an indulgence driven by choices; BEING GAY IS NOPT AN INDULGENCE it is a PERSONALITY; You and I are straight people; heterosexuality drives our PERSONALITY. Narada is gay; homosexuality drives his PERSONALITY. DRUG USE IS A CHOICE BEING GAY IS A NATURAL TRAIT.

  • @MSEDzirasa2015
    @MSEDzirasa2015 11 років тому

    You shouldn't use the word "CHOICE" and "LIFESTYE".It is not a choice and a lifestyle.You must realize that the pathology that drives our sexuality is deep seated within our genetic makeup, which is defined by chromosomes. He is a gay person; you & I are straight. Being straight is not a lifestyle & being gay is not either.It is just how we come into the world. A lifestyle is an indulgence and has nothing to do with a person's sexuality. Crime is a lifestyle; being gay is not.Mind your words.

    A lot of these single mothers have no idea what they do to their sons when raising them alone. I don't know you or your mom, but I can almost guarantee that she raised you in the same manner she raised your sisters, but then wonders why your gay. I don't condone homosexuality, but it is not my place to say what is right or what is wrong because none of us are perfect. Stay strong and continue to look to God.

    Im also a christian and Im pretty sure you know what the Bible says. But the truth is they are so many other things condemned in the bible that we still do (tatoos,fornication etc.) so I am not in the position to judge you, nor is anyone else claiming to be a christian. God is love an thats all that matters, not my opinion nor anyone elses! salvation is individual, so seek HIM first. What I can say howvr is that you have a good heart and you seem like a real cool person. Stay Bless! new subby xx

  • @JamCanGurl
    @JamCanGurl 13 років тому

    First off, it does not matter what your sexual orientation is. It's just matters what kind of person you are on the inside. From watching your videos I can tell that you are a likable person. I would love having a friend like you. I'm sorry your mom didn't take the news well. I feel bad cause you look so sad in the video. Just be who you are meant to be. God loves all his children. No one chooses to be gay. If it was a choice then people would chose being straight to make their lives easier rig

    You are right. God made NO mistakes! But saying that anyone is PERFECT is a complete fallacy. Remember that God sent His son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of ALL mankind. If anyone was perfect we would not need Jesus. We All NEED Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. He took away the sins of the world that day God raised Him from the dead. We ALL need Jesus.

    On some of them I did and some I didn't do the rope twist. Some of the twist held up to moisturizing and some of them didn't. After taking 2 days to do min twist my hair doing spring break I am quite disappointing that I have to redo some. I guess I will stop twisting the hair as I wrap it around. Thanks for the comment.

    I say we are perfect because to think that we aren't (when God is the one who created us) would mean God made a mistake. I don't think God makes mistakes and you . . . are . . . perfect. (That's my opinion)

  • @LaProximaCiara
    @LaProximaCiara 11 років тому

    You are perfect because when God made you he made no mistake. You are exactly how God wanted you to be. If anyone cares to differ then they are saying God made a mistake, and in religion God makes "no mistakes"... Please. Do you boo!

    I don't think the questions you said your mother ask wasn't crazy, she wanted to know. Don't feel bad I don't know anyone personally who's parents took it well. I think it's something a parent has to deal for a while with the news their child has told them. I personally think some parents only see sex when their child tells them they're gay & not the feelings they have.

    • @AfrikanHairGod
      @AfrikanHairGod  Рік тому

      No her tone was malicious, hurtful, and emotionally abusive. There are many parents that takes the news well because they understand the vulnerability that a child experiences coming out to them. When you have a child, you should love them unconditionally, even when you are in conflict with them. She kicked me out the house and treated me like i was worst than the garbage she leaves on the curb. There is absolutely no excuse for that. This is a tough conversation to have but it's only hard when the parent makes it difficult.
