hello. I hope you don't mind me as a curious white girl coming here and commenting. I have always wondered how people of color with your type of hair achieve that look. but never dared to ask. but I educated myself today, with help from you! love the look, you look stunning!
lots of love from Sweden.
kyrastube
Intelligent comment, keep growing.
This has helped me out tremendously Bec of you! I was paying $65-$75 to get my hair twisted before. Your a beautiful Sista with beautiful natural hair! Thanks!
you're a hair inspiration for me!! I'm looking forward to when my hair gets that length...but I do appreciate the length I have now =) Much Love & Blessings to you!!
i love all your styles. dont ever stop bc im look and planning on trying it on my hair
That's it, I'm doing this style THIS WEEKEND!!
Omg...loving ur hair girl, u draping!
Thank ya for being soooo detail, GREAT JOB!! Cause I run out of hair styles so quickly.. I'm a neewbie, Natural for 3 months... weeeeh (•;
I get bored FAST. I'm out..
well the day you upload the video was on my birthday lol
Beautiful hair and nice Michelle Obama biceps. Awesome!!
@MzSweetPea09 I'm not sure if anyone else answered your question but you can find jessicurl's too shea at Curlmart and Jessicurl.
LOL.. you said that would be just "SIlly". so have you stopped doing the kinky twist because your hair is like super long..... And i'm assuming you don't straighten your hair, because it is so full and gorgeous:) LOOKIN AWESOME.....:)
I'm white how do I go natrual
This comment is so cute
Okay without perm
You're already natural. If you want hair like her you should try curling it, adding a lot of spritts, and try combing it.
shannon rosee you can’t your hair is natural in how your hair is now
Please stay in your lane. Search Taylor Swift. bye girl
Haha! I like that "Nappyversary". #LOVEIT
Lol ikr
In May 2011, this was the very first video I watched on natural hair. This video started a long night into the early morning of me watching natural hair videos. This video convinced me to transition to natural hair. I am proud to say that this video is the reason why I have celebrated my one year natural hair anniversary this month and still going strong.
Thanx BBBD!!!
I LOVE the NATURAL look on sista's. Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmm!!!
lol i strive for your definition of hot mess. i love your videos!
I'm 17 and I will be one year natural on December 23rd, and I can't stop watching you.. you're like a mother to me. lol Keep it up and thank you for taking the time to do this, I could really use someone like you! oh, and you're beautiful!!(:
You keep your audience attentive. Many can't do that. I love your videos.
I have a 7 yr old daughter....I twist her hair often and it looks great, but it seems to get frizzy looking after about a week....do you have any suggestions to help combat? I pull up twists into a loose ponytail and put a bonnet over them nightly... Her hair texture looks just like yours. She has tons of hair, but it is on the finer side.
Omg I remember when you first post this video. I am a long time fan for real. Love you girl. God bless
Usually I smooth it with my oil mix and tie it down tight. That helps alot!
Hi,
Your hair looks so healthy. Do you heat your shea butter and coconut oil before you mix it with the olive oil?
"black hair grows, ya'll, what?" lol I know that's right, Nina. You are too cute and I love your vids. Your tutorials have done wonders for my and my daughters natural hair. thanks, girl
“This not only moisturized your twists, but it also makes it moisturized.” Lol.
And I have loc envy!
Really wish you had show the result! I watched till end and didnt' get to see what twist out on dry hair vs the usual done on wet stretched hair.
Hey now! Thanks!
No problema!
Thanks lady!
I will have to pick that up! Thanks!
You look the exact same 10 years later.
This is absolutely gorgeous!!! I have been waiting for someone to show this style because I've been wanting to try it, but didn't really know how to go about doing it. Thank you sooooo much!!!
I luv twists too. When I do mine, I also don't blow fry my koils into oblivion. Lol. Your hair is so long, how long does it take for you to complete yours? I did small twists like these my first time back in Feb and it took me about 5.5 hrs! Hoping when I do them tonight I'll get them done a little faster. Lol.
Looks great! When I did my small twists and was working out, they got so matted so after that I never wanted to do them again! lol But I see that yours are smaller than the size I did and you workout so I think I'll try again and do them this size. How long did it take to twist your entire head?
Your twists are beautiful! Can't wait until my hair grows out a bit more. Thanks for the vid! It was great!
I love it.... I'll definitely be trying this on my hair soon and probably send it to you as a video response too! Thank you so much for going over the instructions in detail!
Wasn't there a picture of you as a child and another little girl with hair out to kazoo, meaning your hair, even when you were a little kid was volumnous. Not a bad thing, but like the crazy lady say (the one who does all the cursing) you could probably use cow spit and whatever and your hair would grow, because your hair is genetically volumnous and programmed to grow. Again, not a bad thing but just making the same point as the crazy lady who actually made a great point.
When I come back from my vacation next week, I'm going to do this to my hair. I did my BC in September so I'm still learning care and learning styles because now my hair isn't as short as it was when I first started out. I wondered why would anyone ask if your hair breaks off in this style? Is it because of how long you keep them that that would be a concern I should look out for or something else? I'm thinking I'm gonna go from a chronic 2 strand twistout-er to this style. I need a change!
What do you use in your hair toi make it more manageable. I did my big chop in december last year. The ride has been great but my hair is really thick and it is growing out. I love and hate it at times and i dont' know my hair type. My hair can be really tight if blown out and my hands often hurt while doing my hair or moisturizing. I was just wondering if you can give me some tips on manageing my hair.
I am currently reading ULTRA BLACK HAIR GROWTH II right now and a lot of things that you said are in the book. I've been natural just 1 1/2 years and I have little growth over that period. I know everyone is different and I know black hair can grow because as a child I had a LOT OF HAIR, but not now. Thanks for the video, I like you own twist n layers better than when you add hair. Keep the videos coming
nappiversary!!! thats good. mine is 2/9/00 the day after my thyroid surgery....never permed it ever again. so i guess that would be mine.
We have the same type of hair...i love it. But im relaxed right now with healthy relaxed hair. I'll probably go natural in a year or two.
@rocsGrl4life couldn't hurt to try. i seen twits on a loose wave type texture. it looked good. she put her hair in a ponytail then twisted the loose parts. all i can say is if your hair is straight it wont work. my daughter has mixed hair so its curly but it doesn't hold twist. but it does hold a finger curl... strange :)
I am so excited to see so many naturals. You all have truly been an inspiration to me. Please see my blog and pass any suggestions you have. I am more than happy to hear them. I need your help to stay inspired. I do not want to relax again. Please look over my blog and tell me what you think. It all about love and motivation.
Thanks for your videos. I've been naturall all my life and my hair is shorter after a flat iron incident 3 years ago :( I really want my hair to grow it's natural length and thickness back.. I've been looking for videos from other women with 4c kinky hair. Thanks so much!
hi, am also going natural, would u plz tell me what kind olive oil do u use? is it the cooking olive oil or a different one? by the way ur hair is soooooo beautiful, i cant wait 4 mine to get there...... u r such an inspiration... love to all the sister with natural hair......
Your hair is very pretty. I really love it. I really like twist but I hate putting in the time to do them on my head and my hair is not half as thick and long as yours but I'm on my way. You know your twist are always nice, I love watching your videos. Thanks for sharing
I know black hair grows, because i have seen it grow on you ladies, BUT my hair does not grow for me. I've been natural for 3 years and I swear, my hair looks almost the same. I expected it to be as long as yours, BUT NOT.... but I'm being patient, I guess one day it will come.
Don't worry it's growing. Will all the shrinkage and stuff you probably won't be able to tell but it's growing.
Sharon D. it's growing but If you experience breakage at the same rate your hair grows you won't see the length.
Same!! :(
@@tequilashots875 Exactly. Thank you for explaining this, because hair grows. Some just aren't retaining length.
awesome video sister friend!!!! =) ur hair looks so great! im so glad u became a partner so we can see longer videos from you =)
I've had a relaxer since i was about 5 years old because my hair was to thick to comb thru natural. And now i've been convinced that i want to go natural. Thank you for these videos u r beautiful and your hair is too :) natural hair is beautiful!
Every time I feel like I want to give up and relax, I see yet another natural beauty with gorgeous hair and change my mind. It is a journey that honestly takes time. Thanks for the inspiration.
Feel Free to transition anyway you prefer. BBBD has older videos where she wore her hair in kinky twists and she has moisturizing videos of how she kept her hair moisturized while wearing her kinky twists. HTH
I hate to be repetitive, but I couldn't find this question among the other comments. How long did this twisting style take you. I know you ran errands during the day, so cumulative time is fine. Many thanks!
Your twists turned out really nice...Nappy versary is not a cute word...I say that b/c ppl always associate OUR hair as a negative and it is anything but....anywho, I like your hair, pls put a few more styles on here...
i enjoyed watching you. you are very entertaining. i'm in the beginning stages of going natural. i almost had a moment last week where i wanted to give up. but seeing your hair gives me some encouragement to continue.
GAWJUS!!...I can't wait til my hair is as long as yours lol. I'm about to search through your videos for a blowout tutorial in case you have one. I have no clue how to do one, but my hair is TIGHTLY coiled.
girl at those arms..... i am impressed i came on here trying to find styles that i could use while transitioning which yes still need help but dang now i want those arms!!!!! help please and thank u
I'm a caucasian woman with very naturally curly, very textured hair. I was curious to know your opinion on me doing this to my hair, i absolutely love the style and how easy the maintenance seems to be.
The link to you blowdrying your hair doesn't work. I want to try these twists but the last time I did it I dried it too much and my hair was too straight, I need help! Can you tell me which video its in?
WOW!! beautiful hair. I cant wait for mine to get to that lengh. i BCd 05/13/10 and i am amazed at how healthy its growing. so therefore, i am a true believer that black hair does grow.. thanks for the vid
Thank you thank you thank you...though I have been natural for about 5 years I havent quite figured out a style that I like...I will be trying this in the morning...again thanks
your hair is so beautiful. I have not had a perm in like 5 yrs and it is super thick and still want to know about how to go fully natural. right now i wear my hair braided or sew-ins
when you have a white bulb at the end of a hair strand, that's how you can tell it's shedded hair and not breakage. Breakage will not have a little white bulb at the end.
mixed chicks hair products are great i hear... i visited the website in it can be used on all textures.... kinda pricey but seem to be worth it. its called mixed chicks
Did you just here what said brown baby doll. Your hair is thick and fine. I don't think so . Normal type. Very dense ( meaning the amount hairs per measured area)
You are a true inspiration!!! Would you mind doing a make-up tutorial for Dummies? And when I say dummies I mean as if a person never wore make-up. Thanks girlfriend
You're my hair inspiration. My hair is as long as yours with just a perm. But I've grown out my perm about 4 inches so far. And it's been almost a whole year. I dont wnanna just chop it off so I've been keeping my hair in weaves until it gets at least to my shoulders.
your hair is so beautiful. I have not had a perm in like 5 yrs and still want to know about how to go fully natural. right now i wear my hair braided or sew-ins
I know that you said you rinse your twists, but do you rinse just your scalp or all of your hair. How do you do your method without getting that much shrinkage?
If you used unrefined shea butter, how do you change from solid to a liquid state,,specifically for your hair oil mix
You and your hair are beautiful. My hair is about 5-6 inches long and I need a practical hairstyle. Maybe I can do this. I don't want to lock it.
Yourr Hair Is Soo Pretttyy. Mosst Of The Timee, The ends Of Twists Come Out Because They R Transitionerrs(Like Me), Or Just To Dang Straightt, Lmaoo.
ive been natural since i was born. im suprised that their are so many people with the same hair as me. i thought i was the only one in the world...
beautiful style! I ran into you in the st. louis galleria one day and we were complimenting each other's hair on the way into 'Love Couture"...cute!
How do you take the twists down? Untwist each individually? Drench your hair in conditioner and brush like your detangling? Some other technique?
With doing the rinses, when you take your hair down after the three weeks, it doesn't get tangled or matted? Or better yet how do you take them down?
love your texture & fullness. I"ve seen your other vids & I your 2 strand twist is great!!!! The best 2 strand look I've seen so far. Thanks for sharing
just an fyi. biosilk can be found at TJMAXX! whoohoo! It's about 30% less than evven walmart! It's there at least once or twice a month. I just stock up.
I love it, I wish I was brave enough to make a BIG CHOP...Doing my twist now, thanx for the tutorial...
Thank you any suggestions fir heavier thicker hair. Please help with suggestions. Thank you
To be honest, your braided hair was cute, however I liked your hair more before it was braided, I don't know, I think I liked the volume a lot :)
You are gorgeous! Great video and some really good information! One day I'll get the energy to try twists that small! lol Thanks for showing us.
I love your hair! Maybe one day you could straighten it and do a length check....I am sure you are at least brastrap or maybe even midback....
Hello when you come to Atlanta I would love to silk out your hair (your Christmas gift) and get some feedback from you!!! Check out my Utube video "this is what healthy hair looks like" God Bless you! Tammi Dotson
You said follow up with a moisturizer after you rinse your twist with the diluted shampoo...what moisturizer do you use for this? Thanks!
How long does this take to do? And how long does it take to take out? Also well they split or fall out like I hear some micros do?
Wow this is great! Do you have a tutorial for the thicker twists? Also added you on fb as suggested. Really love your videos!
You don't have problem with your roots getting loose or puffy? How often do you cowash or wash your hair when in this style?
you freaking hair is gorgeous!!!! and some of these women don't know why it breaks off all the time. Keep looking beautiful!
Question about the size of denman...I didn't realize that there were different sizes. Does it matter? thanks for your help
Not me watching this video and realizing it’s from 13yrs ago 🥹
first..u are beautiful. I want to learn how to do this so I can work with my daughters hair. I love the tutorials.
@nanidiamond OH THANK YOU!!! its fine that you answerd because i'd rather have your two cents then no sense at all LOL
man now I'm itching to do my twists without the marley braid hair cuz it's been over a year since i've been natural and I have some length to my hair.
Well thankfully i do have curly hair.. I think I'm gonna try it.. I'll let you know if it works.. And thank you!
your hair and you are stunning, you definitely have inspired me to continue with my going natural journey.thanks :)
Do you ever get little knots in your hair? I do get them alot and I'm wondering what I can do about it. Thanks.

I love your!!! I have only been transitioning for three months. Any suggestions on easy styles I could do?
