Yes, I believe this Father Alex. Pain makes men feel alive. Women already know physical and emotional pain very well-bleeding monthly, childbirth, etc. Men’s feelings are shut off at a young age. So a chance to actually FEEL something in an acceptable way through pain or violence, is a relief to them. Part of their fascination with women is women’s ability to easily and openly express feelings like pain, sorrow, etc. Many men are obsessed with suffering emotionally.

The guy I'm hooked with has been using most of these techniques on me for a long time and I never knew . I never really paid attention because I made it clear from the beginning I didn't want any serious relationship and stuff. Thing about this is that having to power play and manipulate situations is fcking exausting and not worth the cost.
