- In this video, I flip this $15 Goodwill Dresser! I was so thrilled to be able to keep some raw wood yet again with this mid century-style dresser! I love the Midnight Blue with the natural wood and gold pulls. . It look military in a good way.
To keep your wood filler from drying out I place a sheet of plastic wrap on the surface of the filler. Be sure to press out all of the air from between the filler and plastic..

A glass shop can recut your mirror to make use of the good part. Mirrors sell well on their own!

I agree. I love that wood grain too. Maybe if ya couldn't save the top, paint it and keep the front drawers unpainted. Ya don't always have to paint. The market is getting saturated with chalk paint dressers. You can get one at IKEA for the same price.

Love this piece! Sealing the natural wood drawers really even made the piece pop!
You can tell your an educator the way you explain all the steps your doing in detail. I believe this is why your channel is also a great success! I feel like I can tackle flipping some furniture pieces first for myself and later for profit. PS I got my first box of melange paint, brushes etc. I plan in painting a dresser for my sons daughter who just turned 5. Thanks so ugh Lauren and Nieman. I haven't used the midnight blue yet. But I LOVE Fusion. It's my go to paint now. Loving the new colors they came out with.
Beautiful job. My grandma used to rub dove soap in drawer grooves to make them easier to slide. I've heard they have scented big mama's butter too. Love that midnight blue.

Beautiful! I just did a small hutch with three drawers underneath and I painted it the midnight blue. I am not usually a fan of gold hardware of any kind. So I painted mine silver. But, after seeing the metallic gold you used I am going to re-do my hardware in Metallic gold. I love the midnight blue it is so beautiful. Great job with leaving the top two drawers natural and using big mamas butta. The entire piece is STUNNING. in case you actually read the comments I’m gonna tell you something that has helped me. When I sand I always use a microfiber cloth but then I follow it up with a tack cloth and you would be very surprised at how much sand dust that you pick up with that cloth after using a microfiber cloth. I’m not an expert I just do it for myself but this is what I have learned. Take care of yourself and continue on your wonderful journey.

You could easily attach a backdrop to that beam behind you, for staging. And attach different surfaces to it!
I think I would install a drapery rod, pick up various drapes in thrift shops, then change them out according to the style of the furniture.

I was very recently in a Goodwill and saw a small white dresser for $12.99. I thought of you when I saw the dresser. You did a beautiful job with the dresser - navy blue caused it to pop!!

While using protection, you might want to add ear plugs. I am grateful that I used them in my Air Force days, as those who did not are having issues age we are aging. The vacuum and sander, as well as other tools take a toll on your hearing.

This dresser might have look good with a new base the same color as the raw wood w/Butta. Hey Lauren, happy to be seeing your first day of Chapter 2. The dresser is absolutely fabulous and could be used as an entry table or buffet or ? so many option with that particular paint/wood color combo.
I used fusion paint in Algonquin, its kind of a tan color on my dresser and night stands, I love how the paint went on and covered.
I am happy you left the top drawers natural...pretty dresser.

You should try putting a gallon paint can under each corner while working on your pieces. It gets it off the ground and so much easier to paint and work on. btw, You look so much like granddaughter 😊, I'll have to post a picture of her soon so you can see How much she favors you.
