A glass shelf would be a nice addition to use the upper half and still let the lamp shine through. How tall is your customer's coffee maker/station? Does she want a shelf above?
I'd like to make another suggestion that maybe you should try doing something besides dressers and cabinets of some sort maybe try a headboard or something else would be excited to watch you do such things
Neiman, don't sell yourself short. The behind the scenes people make it all happen. You're an amazing camera man and talented effects guy. Glad to see you more up front. You're both great!!!!
This is too true! I used to work as a stage manager... it's a LOT of work to make things APPEAR to go smoothly on stage or on camera. lol Great job both of you! ♥
Another amazing job! You both work & create so perfectly! Question, what editing program do you use? I'm wanting to start sharing my projects around MI casa & soon flipping also!
Beautiful ! This is a stunning colour, almost the exact shade of the blue eggs some hens lay. Personally I’d like a shelf you do need the height to add the coffee maker which can take up quite a bit of height when you account for any doors that traverse up. But I know this was custom made for your customer so this must be how she ordered it 😊 You did an absolutely beautiful job and I’m so happy for you and the desk supplier sponsoring this video ! Almost 100k Did you say when you moved in that your landlord was going to let you repaint the kitchen cupboards? That would e an EPIC 100 k celebration series ...just a thought :)
Quick tip: to keep my putty and wood filler from drying out I put a piece of seran wrap in the container directly on the product to seal out the air in the container. Works like a dream.
It's a lovely tip, it works in the kitchen too..i use this trick to do not let my guacamole get dark..it last days in the fridge with fresh green colour.
Just a small comment or advice. In this situation when you drill with a key hole saw drill from the top to just break through with the guide bit then finish off from the other side. That way you will not get that blow out on the finished part. Nice job.
I agree it is easiest to find the middle from the top. You can just use the drill bit part from top down, then use that hole to guide the hole saw from the bottom up. It is great to see you try new things on camera and to let us see that things aren't always perfect!
Great job and color on the coffee cabinet; anyone would be proud to have it in their home. Like most people, though, I have a suggestion. Traditionally, when a cabinet door remains on the piece, it is painted on both sides with the interior box left natural or painted. For the very reason you touched up the paint on the top of the drawers, you also paint the interior of the doors. It's that finishing touch.
I imagine our children and grandchildren will be saying, "Why did they paint it?" Then they can have the fun of peeling the paint off and restoring it. Keep up the great work.
Ugghh! Please don't even say that. I just finished stripping a walnut dresser, with NINE coats of paint...and purple glitter on pink paint...GLITTER {obviously the from the 70's, it was between the 60's avocado green, and 80's gray}! The glue in the glitter mixed with the stripper and made it nearly impossible to strip. Why people destroy beautiful wood with paint is beyond me.
I’m pretty sure this is my new favorite color!! Omgosh this is just gorgeous!! Great job Girl❤️ So happy for Neiman to have his new awesome desk also❤️❤️
Loren, that is beautiful! One of my favorites yet. I just started flipping and by watching you I have started with the melange paints! Which I am loving. This color is beautiful!
Hi guys, that is an amazing “flip”, you see these pieces on marketplace often. The desk is a wonderful gift …..very nice. You are both doing an amazing job 👏👏👏🇦🇺
When you have a smaller piece like on the shiplap, it can be easier to place that on the bottom. That way you have a full piece on the top & the smaller-width piece will most likely be hidden by whatever's on the bar. Flows better visually & may save a bit of work. Love the color. Great job, as always!
not going to lie, I loved the "before" and I'm sad to see it go, but I am always glad to see something that wasn't being used become useable again! And the after looks amazing!
Love the coffee bar... especially the color! IMO, a shelf at the top would have been a welcome addition, though. I was happy to hear you plan on drilling a hole for the coffee maker cord. Keep up the good work! Your videos are always fun to watch.
Next time when drilling like that place "painters tape" the top and bottom from where you are drilling and that should help minimize having that blow out. Look great
I wouldn't have done that to the piece of furniture. It had such character that was changed into a big box store look. I will say the work done looked like it was done well, it just makes me sad to see good stuff destroyed.
I want to thank you for your awesome videos, you gave me the courage to try it myself… Im disabled and unable to work, but, finishing the furniture at my pace allows me to feel as though, I’m contributing to my family again.. thank you for what you do.
Great job on your success, and the new shop. I am a part time furniture restorer and in the portrait business. I would like to offer up some "Pro tips" that could make your productions even better. The available light from the shop door opening is good, but using to your benefit may help. Set up a white/gold reflector 45 degrees, on each side of the project. These are called scrims. This will fill in the dark areas the and camera will better adjust, for even and brighter visuals.
Neiman I was thinking just that...not sure if you did anything with them yet but that new house you all have could use some nice steampunk looking elements and those just speak steampunk to me and I am sure you guys love that look somewhere...if not I am sure some customer will somewhere on something. But that was once a really nice antique pice I am thinking and though you made it awesome and gave it a new life new purpose you have no idea the value that piece on its own in the age I am thinking it was could have fetched. See I don't know how but I've always had this superpower of sorts that I just somehow know things that have value based on age that has come from eras far earlier than my birth. I have champagne taste and beer pocket I always say. This was fantastic and something I myself want one day in my own home being a big-time coffee drinker. Loved this! The shiplap was an awesome touch and your way of staging it made it look super stylish!
I am so impressed with your work. I tried sanding a dresser for a refinishing project that is still sitting in my garage :( So I appreciate all the hard work for I know how much time an entire project like this takes. (Even though now, I can fully say, you're a pro!!) Mad love sent to you both! Good job guys!
Oh shoot! You just reminded me I had screws in the pocket of my favorite gym shorts!!!! And they just went through the washer 🤦♀️. Anyway I love how you transformed this bulky cupboard into this adorable coffee bar 💚
You were talking about using more paint. Can the setting on the sprayer cause you to use more paint than necessary? I just got a sprayer and used a whole 16 oz Dixie Belle jar on a small shelf. I’ve been watching videos on using a sprayer trying to figure it out. So frustrating. Paint is expensive.
Hello, I think you are doing a grate job re- purposing furniture and have a good eye for color and creativity. I thank people like you for sharing your work an skills for others to see. I am a contractor who has been painting and remodeling for over twenty years and just wanted to give you a couple hints or suggestions to maybe help you cut some time and maybe even make a little more money. I watched how you apply the plastic wood and if you skim coat over the holes in a clean manner and just fill the hole instead of putting a bit more over and around the holes. No matter how you sand anything around the holes will be sanded away. Obviously you have to fill the holes at least twice if not three times in order for them to disappear but also I noticed you use the Bondo which I feel is a faster way for the filler to dry and a harder finish. Also make sure you always prime over the wood filler or bondo. ( so it don’t flash) Have you ever used Binz by Zinnzer co? It is a shellac based primer and once it’s on it’s on there and blocks everything! ( once it’s dry you can’t scratch it off )use it to prime kitchen cabinets and then two coats of finish over that. Ok one more thing you might want to upgrade one day to a HVLP sprayer it will help you cover more over the piece your spraying and revive a better quality finish. I have been painting for a long time and if you need any advice about that subject please let me know. I can’t believe how hard you and your boyfriend or husband work to do these projects. I love seeing people doing the good preparation and quality labor Like you guys do!! Thanks for your videos! Joe,
Hey Lauren, How did you secure the light? I’m working on my first project (which I decided to do a coffee bar) and I found a light that just has a cord and I’m not sure the best way to secure it. Any advise would be awesome!
Your coffee bar turn out so nice! I really like this shade of green. Shiplap is one of my favorites. The quality is certainly in this piece of furniture! Thrilled for Neiman getting this nice desk with the "extras". Thanks for sharing. God bless
Oh my! I’m so in love with everything about this flip!!! I have a large armoire I want to make into a coffee bar. I’m following your lead ! Thanks, so much, for what you guys do!
Great job! It looks amazing! ⭐ I thought the mugs would look nice on the back wall. Wondering why you didn't put them on across the back to display nice mugs?
Could you give me some advice? I have an old roll top desk that my mom made for my dad. It's kinda rough but really solid. I need to reglue the louvers to the fabric. It's a dark walnut which I really don't like. Any suggestions?
On your hole saw…start on one side…about 1/2 way through, switch to opposite side and finish hole. You will NOT have any more “tear out”. Nice to see hubby in video too!
I love your videos! You do amazing work and I know I could never do as well. I will be making us a coffee station for our vacation rental. This gives me something to show my husband (he is an engineer so he tends to not see the vision).

Super awesome job! You did Amazing! I was thinking a little trick to using with your drill bit when make pilot holes that won't go all the way through, what we did in construction was place Tape at the stopping point. Hope you try that little hack and Anyone else who may have a tough time gauging the stop Point
Once I did something similar but added glass shelves so the light shines through them Tgat way you get light and shelving. Could also use plexiglass. This coffee bar turned out so cute. I love Melange paint. Thanks for recommending it.
Neiman too bad you don't stay behind the camera, where your talents shine. Besides Lauren the FFT wouldn't be coming up to 100k subs in less than a year without you being the cameraman. Great team! Lotsa Love : )
I loved your video. I’m getting ideas to paint my hutch, I think white. Never did this before but you make it look so easy. I have to try, wish me luck😉
Why didn't you give them a shelf? There's a lot of empty useless vertical space for things that are used every time you make either coffee or tea. The bottom cabinet will be great for back-up supplies, but somehow the piece looks only half done.
My mom had passed away 11 years ago but I took one part of a hutch that she had and have been moving it with me everywhere. I’m struggling with if I should leave it as is for memory sake or update it with new color. Same thing with a wooden computer table she bought… want to may be update it but again memories…
Loved this project! Do you seal the wallpaper drawer liners with anything? I’m working on a project right now that I will be doing that and I want to make sure if I should do something to seal it! thanks!!
Just wanted to offer a tip for drilling pilot holes and guaranteeing you don't go all the way through whatever you're trying to avoid going all the way through on....take a piece of painters tape and wrap it around the bit, at the depth you want. Once the tape brushes away the dust from drilling the hole, you know your depth is where you want it. It's just insurance.
I adore that hutch! I like what you did with it, but if it were me, I would have kept it as is...$100 was a steal - I would have jumped on it for sure...
You do great work. One thing about this one..i hate that you had to remove the ornate details that were on originally. But I like shabby chic so..the farmhouse thing seems a little stark to me. Just a little feedback. Ty
My mom gave me her old chine cabinet and I have had it for 15 years I am so ready to update it this will be my first time so I'm a little scared now the wood is a lot darker than the cabinet you worked on in your video so to you the expert do you think I should apply a primer first on wood this dark before painting 18:28
I made this suggestion to you before . I was so excited until I started watching the video! I was hoping you were doing the coffee bar due to my suggestion but you're not but I'm glad to see you're still doing a coffee bar I'm excited to see how this video ends
Just painted my first piece with chalk paint cleaned it well put a light coat on the first time then two other coats after that looks pretty good it’s like a spring green. My question to you is now that it is painted and it’s going in my bedroom as it is a bedside table should I polyurethane it or wax it looking for some advice from a professional.By the way loved the coffee bar
Like that EZ Up canopy as a spray booth, seems better than the Wagner tent. There was far less overspray from the airless sprayer, did you change the tip? Loved the way the piece turned out, you do such great work!
Would it be easier to stain the boards before putting them in the cabinet? Oh, I didn't realize she wanted it white instead of stained like in the inspiration one. I like the drawer liner. And the lovely paint color:) Will the light turn on?
That would have been very pretty to been storing books in and with the doors on it:) I'd love to find one just like that for my books:) but your coffee bar you made out of its cute also. But it's not easy to find pretty wood like that and before you painted over it thru u even on it
What if you turn this type of cabinet into an electric fireplace on future piece? I've seen furniture with built in fireplaces at Costco recently, and maybe new, cool use for old cabinets?
Hi Lauren and Neiman! I’m new to your channel and I love it! I pretty much have been binge watching you! I just said to myself today that the edit and camera angles are awesome. Glad you got the desk to make your job tat much more efficient. Great team, love the music choices too. Oh I forgot to add, I live the idea of mixing paint with the sealer
A glass shelf would be a nice addition to use the upper half and still let the lamp shine through. How tall is your customer's coffee maker/station? Does she want a shelf above?
Two or three glass shelves would finish the look. She did a great job though.
This is my absolute FAVOURITE piece youve done! It is beautiful~!
I like those doors, too. "Watching paint dry" LOL
I'd like to make another suggestion that maybe you should try doing something besides dressers and cabinets of some sort maybe try a headboard or something else would be excited to watch you do such things
I loved that beautiful piece as it was!!!♥️.

Very cute
Maybe drill a small hole in the back for any electrical cords.
So Lauren could u have used the green paint already with a satin sheen? I’m sure some paints are plain so then u use a top coat after?

I adore that hutch! I like what you did with it, but if it were me, I would have kept it as is...$100 was a steal - I would have jumped on it for sure...
Good idea Nieman. Also, I have seen another furniture guy use the front door window's was the back wall. Idea for next time.
Another beautiful piece, it’s gorgeous, I know the new owner will be thrilled, speechless. It’s so pretty👍👍💕
This looks amazing. Wish I lived closer to you. I would love for you to make me a combo coffee/wine bar for my small space.
That would have been very pretty to been storing books in and with the doors on it:) I'd love to find one just like that for my books:) but your coffee bar you made out of its cute also. But it's not easy to find pretty wood like that and before you painted over it thru u even on it
Why did you choose to not take the doors and drawers off when painting? The coffee hutch looks beautiful. Your friend will love it.
What's the purpose of installing the Shiplap boards other than for contrast? Wouldn't a lighter colored paint on the backboard be good?
Looks beautiful ! There is a lot of empty space, though, so a shelf with the light hanging below would have been nice.
I think it needs a shelf - somewhere to put a mug containing spoons, a cute coffee canister, and some other hot beverage mixes.
Where are you doing you work? I'm having the hardest time finding space to do furniture refinishing?
Love this! Would love to see discreet access for power cord(s) so you could place coffee or espresso machine in cabinet.
