I've learned 3 full BTBAM songs, along with bits from others. A looooot of time and dedication but fully worth it. They're my favourite band, Paul and Dustie being up there as some of my favourite guitarists.

I've learned Memory Palace, the first half of Famine Wolf (stopped at the string skipping) and the intros to Silent Flight Parliament, Selkies, Ectopic Scroll, Option Oblivion, Astral Body, Extremophile Elite, and Fossil Genera. A lot of songs have been started, but only one finished.

I've tried a few songs before (Autodidact, Foam Born, Sun of Nothing) and honestly I usually tap out after a couple of riffs because there's so much to memorise. Even calling them riffs seems inaccurate

Couple questions: I know you probably own a huge arsenal of guitars, but did you keep this one? If not, do you miss it? I'm not sure how I feel about the bolt on + the mojotone. Seems like it's bright on bright and could be tough to tame. On the up side, the physical feel of the guitar appears to be superb.

I bought this guitar, the original version. I do like the newer look a bit better with solid birds. But I saw it used and had never heard of Dustie Waring. So I plugged it into a nice clean Fender amp and started playing. I was so impressed with the clean tone and articulation I went home and looked it up. I could not believe what it was designed for vs what I play. Anyway, all that to say, you should do a demo on clean tones - it is quite impressive.

@@riccardorocchi60 Remarkable clean tone(s). In fact, I keep threatening to sell her because I HATE the Floyd Rose, but every time I pick her up and play her I am reminded of her uniqueness and then want to keep her. The first minute of this above video is only tip of the iceberg - add some lush effects and she brings out lovely sweetness. And every pickup option is a bit different. The 4th position is very much quieter than the 1st position - which I did not like at first, but now I kind of like it. I would like to try the newer incarnation of this with the solid birds to see any differences in tones. I never play any metal on mine, as I don't know how to really do metal. But cleans, rock, and jazz work great. I have several other guitars that have good clean as well, but this lady is unique in pristine articulation - so I cannot seem to part with her. 😍

Same here. Only I bought the CE blacktop version brand new without knowing who Dustie Waring or BTBAM was. But the guitar's incredible. Looks and sounds stunning. Only difference between us is one of the genres I play is actually metal. But I'm a little older now so my metal inspirations start with 80's metal and ends during the nu-metal era around 2000 (Deftones, Slipknot, Korn, etc). I dont care what people say I love that nu-metal stuff. But yeah, great guitar. It nails classic rock tones that I love as well (The Who, Led Zep, Sabbath, etc...)

To improve that tremolo arm. Go pickup a Red Bishop Majik Arm. It's a pop in and it's easy to adjust the tension. It damn sure makes a OFR a great tremolo. Those pickups are superb. I'd rather put those pickups into even a cheap Ibanez RG420 with that Floyd Rose in place if the Ibanez edge trem. Add a few touches like rounded highly polished frets and there you have it. I simply prefer those thinner necks and grew up with a strat shape although PRS Indonesian models are quite nice.

Understandable. It's everything I love about them. With PRS you either love or hate them. I only own one and it's a CE24. Although I've never picked up one that I didn't immediately fall in love with. They feel like home.

The satin black maple DW is like the only PRS I've ever seen that I like.
I don't like PRS body shapes, and I strongly dislike their gaudy overly glossed finishes.

Why would you pay like a thousand quid more, just for US made guitar?
I mean a thousand series floyd rose bridge is what they put in the Harley Benton Fusion Pro2, and the whole guitar costs 340 quid.

Stuee well its all about the reputation of american made vs chinese/other countries, also thee build quality is likely to be very different and the same going for quality control, not to mention the woods and fretwire, the actual wiring, hardware and pickups are definetly going to be higher end on the dw making it more expensive. Not to mention there probably was more time put into the guitar

@@nalonlefournis 100% correct. I've had my Tremonti SE forever and it is a fantastic guitar. But then I got an itch for an US model and went to a store to see if the price difference is in any form justifiable.
And what can I say, the tuners are much better, the intonation on the whole fretboard is better, the note separation is better, it's just a much better crafted instrument and you can hear and feel that, plugged in or not. That day I fell in love with a McCarty and had to get it, saved a while and got a great deal on the exact guitar I played.
Do you need it to play or write amazing music? No. But if you are passionate about your instrument it's definitely worth it.
At this price point you definitely have to play it before you buy. These are not mail order items.

@@nalonlefournis So let me explain what a Harley Benton Fusion Pro 2 is.
It has a Roasted Maple Neck, Stainless Steel frets, Wilkinson Bridge (or Thousand Series Floyd, the choice is yours), Locking tuners. Mahogany Body. Indonesian made. 340 quid. That thing (which really isn't that much better) is 2400 quid.
I mean honestly, there is simply no excuse for it.
It would cost about 30 quid to put a Maple Cap in the Harley benton and Stain it, and it is there pretty much.

Stuee Stuee wow ok, i knew that thy were good budget guitars but thats nice, i guess build quality is different also with the reputation of american made (which i dont see as much of a point either, plus a more expensive guitar is a bigger flex, although as you said, not much of an excuse at this point
