Congrats! I'll guess you got a great deal as that guitar has been around a couple years and the store needed to turn stock. I like the hollow birds and knobs on that Limited version over the new production version. I love the features and can only think of one I would've added: stainless frets with a slight possibility (mostly aesthetic I guess) of the back of the neck left natural rather than black. You really can't beat all the features and quality for that price point as the Core models with an OFR are $700-1200 more MAP priced. I've seen some great reviews on the DW models but haven't found any with clean tones yet, especially to hear positions 2-4 on the switch. Cheers!
I know some don't care for the painted necks, but both my CE's have the same smooth satin nitro finish, and I really like it! Stainless frets would be a nice upgrade for sure! I rarely use anything but the bridge pickup, but now that you mention it I should a clean sound check with it.
I love that chair. Where'd you get it? Also, I got the same guitar, but it's the blacktop model. Did you change the knobs? Those are different from the stock ones that come on that guitar. I think that's the original limited edition. I saw a video of Dustie talking about why he changed them. But actually think those look better, lol. Sweet guitar, though!
Hey man! Yes those are the knobs used on the Core guitars. I bought this one pre-loved, and that's how it came. Sorry I do not remember where I got the chair. I was after one without arms, and it fit with my room.
@BrianSGuitar cool man! I was shopping for the same thing, a chair without arms. I got an office chair with retractable arms, but it looks too fancy for my little guitar room/studio area. That there's what I need. Despite it being red, it's subtle. But yeah, the CE DW you have is from when Dustie first moved from having a Core signature series to a CE signature series. At first, there was a short run of his CE model. I think that's what you got there. He changed just a few things like the birds and the knobs. I think I like how yours looks with USA PRS knobs better. That's an easy swap, though. Man, I didn't even know who he or his band was until I was looking into getting this guitar, haha! I see plenty of $1000 guitar with better pickups and stainless frets PRS stands for pretty rotten soundrels. Greedy company with over priced guitars.
