The last chorus at 3:54 with the screaming guitar perfectly melodically matchning Anders vocals... Goosebumps every time. Phenomenal stuff and amazing band.

I haven’t been able to get into the past few In Flames records. This album, though...excellent. I like the direction the band went here. The songwriting is fantastic. The melodies are superb. “Follow Me” is my favorite tune on the album. Really good lyrics! I am going through difficult times and this song gave me chills. I love it.

The acoustic guitars have the feeling of The Jester's Dance. I think it's cause of the tone and note usage. The guitar tone is always great with these guys

I have to cry every time listening to this song. This one is the best example why I like the new album so much, real emotion, finding yourself in a hard time, not knowing who you are and where you have to go. The lyrics reflect so much on me. On the same time, they push me up and let me go my way in life! Thank you In Flames for such a wonderful album, one of my all time favorite bands

In flames is my favorite band ever, they never disappoint, lighter than whoracle and clayman, but honestly probably the best written album they have ever made. A sense of purpose was also a masterpiece, a for all these people who don’t like change, you can keep listening to the same old album and complain about the new, but a true fan will always love the direction and appreciate the quality of this masterpiece. They have put out over a dozen albums, they can’t all sound the same, how boring would that be. Love the new and old, keep it up guys
Being a "true fan" isn't about loving the direction a band goes. It's about being truthful and knowing when the band flopped with an album. Even though some people don't like a band just because they changed, that's not everyone. It all depends on if their change was genuine. I don't care for Siren Charms or Battles because of this. However, I, The Mask is different. You can feel the passion and emotion in this album, something that's been lost for quite some time. Though this song itself is soft, its meaning is genuinely heavy and powerful, and that's what makes it such an awesome song.
Listened to the album on repeat for 10 days straight, after which I have confirmed my previous comments of this album being a masterpiece and the best since asop. And to say I’m a fanboy? I have been a musician for 25+ years and u want to try to throw 4chord progressions as a reply? Cmon, every decent band over the last 20 years has put out at least one song with the infamous 4 chord progression, godsmack, disturbed, Metallica, ffdp, asking Alexandria, hell even Slipknot. @@leetNightshade I saw In Flames back in 2012 with Lamb of God as headliner only Lamb couldn't play so In got to play both their set and closing set it was awesome. Maybe it'll happen again haha Im Flames is just too good of a band to not go see. I might even do VIP this album has touched my soul.

When listening to this with my boyfriend,
I said these lyrics must be what the grim reaper would say to a person in deep misery. Showing up like a non-scary, comforting and very persuading supernatural character.
He was a bit shocked and thaught I was extremely dark and had a whole other look on it. Like a friend, but definitely not the reaper. Guess I watch to many horror movies 😄

@@pariskotsaros I can't tell whether you're being disingenuous because you're another one of those people that long for the sound of their first records and therefore hate all their newer material, or if you're legitimately naive to music. Nonetheless, this song definitely has similarities with Come Clarity as far as the intro slow arpeggio, followed by a gradual build up, which goes with the lyrics well, not to mention the parallels in lyrics between this song and Come Clarity. You tried though. C for effort.

CC is a way better track. The melodies are memorable and the chorus is catchy and manages to sound emotional which is what a ballad should do.
