In Flames is a shining example of European metal. Love this band.
Other shining examples: Soilwork, Meshuggah, Sybreed, etc.
You say that as if Europe doesn't have the biggest culture of metal in the world. Europeans create, the world imitates.
Damn this album is so good. Quite the comeback from one of my all time favorite extreme metal bands.

@@saigeyoksh I love all their music. Haters gonna hate. They changed their musical style but nothing can stay the same forever, its called "progress".
Battles and Siren Charms are both very good. Even though the music isn't as "agro" the thought which is In Flames remains the same. Powerful music in any capacity.

@@martinsmit2958 I don't mind a change in style when both the early and new stuff has unique sound-identity...In Flames clearly fits this mold. If anything their newer albums are more unique than their old albums because there are quite a few bands in the Gothenburg Melodic Deathmetal scene with a sound that's pretty similar whereas I don't know any band that sounds like new In Flames.
That's not to say I like it better or worse now in general, but my favorite IF album is Sounds Of A Playground Fading mostly because imo Anders' voice (in studio) was at it's absolute peak there...as a vocalist myself his earlier style is downright easy to replicate in comparison and while I can replicate his newer style it's exhausting as f*** to the point that I often become light-headed (SOAPF, Deliver Us, All For Me, Fear Is The Weakness and Darker Times; but also a few songs from A Sense of Purpose, Siren Charms and Battles).
I can understand that a man of his age is unable to do it live because even I struggle to do two songs in a row without straining my voice...his studio vocals are criminally underrated

The verse return at 2m15 might be one of the best I've heard. Makes me want to clench my fists. Such a great song.
I can't remember the last time I listened through a full album before, but I did today! Usually I get impatient and switch to something else after 3 or 4 songs, even if it's good. However, I ran through your new album without hesitation. Not that my humble opinion is worth much, but you got it anyway. Congrats! 👌👏🤘
Can’t stop listening to this new album
Just got back home from a trip I made over the weekend. I was singing this as I walked to my place and entered as soon as the word "home" came in. I felt a peace I haven't felt in a while.

I listen to In Flames since early 2000s and I can easily say they haven't changed and didn't aged, their work is as fresh as always and I love them and their work
That intro has a very modern Moonshield vibe to it, very similar. Listen to them back to back or even at the same time, it’s very cool

What a fucking awesome year for music, so far. Evergrey's new album was on point. Dream Theater made one hell of a comeback with Distance Over Time. And now In Flames with their best release in years. This is great!

Sounds like “Sounds of a Playground fading“, reminds me a bit of the older In Flames. Yes, it's not Whoracle, but they made clear they will not come back to the original In Flames. I like this album, definitely better than Siren Charms or Battles, even though not as good as Clayman or Come Clarity.
Don't forget Reroute to remains!
And the Jester race or colony
Kinda hard to go back to the old sound, when the guy who wrote all the music back then quit in 2010(The founder of the band)...
Come Clarity could never be dethroned.

Controversial thought: chorus is my favorite part, because it has that haunting and creepy atmosphere that permeated the R2R/STYE/Come Clarity "horror movie soundtrack" era of theirs.

Ну я хз альбом мне на 7/10,много песен с облегченим припевом и очень много обичной гитара как в Follow Me ребята сделали хорошую задумку но реализация...Песню Voices я услишал еще в январе и ожидал от альбома что-то по типу мелодик-дез или ню-метал , а так получился какой-то альт метеал , альт рок,сингли как I am above This is Our I the Mask Burn били круче
I The Mask больше всего зашла. Рифф крутой и припев.
