Rtx 5090 :
-20% faster than the rtx 4090
-600w needed
-connector burner
-20% GPU use
-doesn't fit one medium case
-3000$ to 3500$
I'm only buying it if the connector burner feature is there
Save ur yapping cause people will still buy it.
The 5090 is essentially trash silicon. Its going to be even worse binned than the 4090 chips and thus the mediocre SM increase means they need to push clockspeeds to make up the loss. The problem with that is the ASIC quality of these chips will be so low (due to them being unusable in pro/data cards) that they will have to push insane wattage through them to get any performance gains. The 4090 was already a shitshow it was so inefficient that if you reduced the power limit to 70% and brought the card under 350watts you only lost 7-8% performance. A professional repair-tuber has already examined hundreds of broken 4090's and declared that 50% of all 4090's sold will die within a few years due to how over-volted they are and how poor the silicon quality is. Meanwhile the 4080SUPER cards will hum along for 10+years because they are using top-grade cherry silicon dies that were supposed to go to mobile laptop GPU's but got redirected to desktop SKU's instead so you are getting ultra efficient laptop parts clocked up to desktop performance. The decay rate on thise chips is gonna be very low especially if you undervolt your card. 5090 is even worse quality than 4090, its gonna break even faster than 4090, and your only getting mediocre gains in raster over the 4090 with the selling point being its gonna be 2.5X in ray tracing with literally no one cares about. Even 80% of 4080/4090 owners surveyed dont give a shit about RT and only bought their cards for the raster performance.
isnt even out yet and youre hating
@@borkogot5738 well its not hating just expectation 😅
At this point, maybe GPU's should just be designed to plug directly into a power receptacle.
I thought that was part of the reason external GPU was made.
External GPU is just to give an option for people with basic slow machines with no upgradability. It's generally trying to do so in a janky way with a slow data connection.
Have you seen the numbers on server hardware. Some servers have multiple sockets.😂 600w is peanuts.
@@mikelay5360 No kidding. 🤦 This is about desktop hardware though which typically uses one power supply, and your average requirement now is 850-1000w. If power requirements keep going up, it makes a lot of sense for GPU's to have their own power sources, it would also lower psu requirements for builds.
@@jimbodee4043 Not even the same thing or what OP is talking about here. Scalability is the problem. Think smarter here.

Here is what you should do when you say "A massive grain of salt" Go to your local Farm and Tractor store grab one of the large salt licks. Then when you say "A massive grain of salt!" you can slam that giant block on the desk to hammer home the point. =)
Bye bye desk.😅
tape pictures on the block of salt too! (Nvidia 5090?, Intel Stability?)
That could be dangerous for poor Kyle, he has tendency to lick things!
and then you could lick you hands afterwards
😂
If an RTX 5090 like that will be released, it would melt like chernobyl lol
You house probably too, with that 12v high-powered cable
If it has a 12v connector im not buying it.....
Did cherynobyl melt and my 4090 never melted
You need to borrow electricity generator from power provider as psu near you!

I will believe Apple M4 claims after All the UA-cam reviewers get their hands on it and do a real life benchmark. Not Apple's Cherry pick benchmarks
The geekbench scores and such are not at all picked out by apple 😂😂
Apple cherry picking!😂
Apple is apple picking!
Yeah, sorry...
it depends on the benchmark optimization for arm chips as 14900 and amds have to be compatible with a lot of mathematical instructions needed in video games and 3d.
The Apple M4 is a legitimate beast.
Hilariously, apple has decided to ruin their lead by only putting it in an Ipad.
By the time its ready to go into apple desktops and laptops, the competition will likely catch up.
Wow that's really big watts NVIDIA 🥵🥵
600w is to be expected I guess. The thing is, they ‘at least’ need to put 2 of those stupid bad designed connector on it. Or they need to change into 24v or 48v rails to mitigate the amps.
Just go full 230V, muricans need to upgrade their electrical infrastructure.
@@magnusnilsson9792 tell that to the dinosaurs running 'murica back into the dark ages.
💀
Really the 5090 having 2 16-pin connectors will solve so many of the melting connector issues as it will be able to divide the load between 2 power connectors instead of having to draw everything through 1 having it with a very high load on 1 connector
Honestly, idk why but I thought that the NH and HN thing was intended
Yep both wrong and it's fine😂
So, for the next GPU upgrade, we should consult our local HVAC specialists for upgrading the home A/C.
Yep your fancy RGB space heater is now getting MORE efficient at heating your room!!
Per Fanatec shopped to Corsair, there are much broader issues with Fanatec and Corsair picking them up is one of the most favorable outcomes.
The current board appears to be trying to allow purchase by an investment firm, one which is tied to current board member(s), using German law to remove current shareholders from retaining their investment. It all appears to be a dumpster fire.
So many interesting articles about this coming to light.
It's been an interesting situation for sure, and some of the info has made me question whether Jackermeier screwed up that badly or if someone was using the whole mess to attempt a hostile takeover.
It'll be interesting to see how Corsair handles it; not necessarily looking forward to iCue integration though.
I wonder if they're going to release the RTX 5Ti9Ti Super Ti FE later down the line with that 1000w cooler.
Tired joke
Hilariously vapor locked at the end 😅😅😅
As a gamer, I want to be disheartened by the fact that I can’t get “overclocked” internet speeds for gaming. BUT, I do still understand that the more ethical way to go about it is for everyone to have equal bandwidth access.
I guess so, sounds like more dei b.s to me
It has nothing to do with bandwidth access. The rules don't change anything about that. What it does is remove any ability (good and bad) to prioritize types of traffic. The good, everything is the same so no one can charge or make use of prioritization. The bad, your streaming, or live feeds, or internet video call, or online game, or (insert low latency application here) has the same traffic priority as a file download or web browsing for which latency doesn't hurt it's use. Internet games don't use a lot of bandwidth, they need good response time. The bad side of the net neutrality rules are that even if an ISP wanted to tweak the Quality of service so that response times for traffic that rely on it are prioritized, they can't.
A note: Net Neutrality rules are not "legislation." This is not a law passed by congress, but rules promulgated by the FCC. Congress may have given them the authority to make these rules, but there is no law passed by congress with these specifics in it.
The human eye can't even see more than 240watts though. .
Watts?
Can confirm, went blind after looking at 5000 watt welder in action.
Im so stealing that ending quote!!!
Thanks for the deals, I am interested in that monitor, does anyone have any experience with the "INNOCN 27G1S Plus 27 inch Gaming Monitor"
I remember netflix was paying comcast a fee for having not end up to be throtling.
Correction. Don't compare matrix extensions (e.g. SME [ARM] or AMX [Intel]) to NPU. Those are two different things. One is ISA extension like many other on your CPU while the other is a completely different IP block (e.g. like a GPU). Pretty much every ISA (ARM, Intel, RISCV, POWER) either have or will soon have matrix ISA extensions. That means that specific workloads will get a huge boost in performance. I wonder which Armv9.X-A Apple might have implemented. I guess we will have to wait until someone checks full ISA extensions list.
thx
The issue I have with new pc parts over the last couple of years, is just this. I have an Asus Thor and the amount off wattage gpu’s pull is just ridiculous. I literally unplug my gpu until I game. Just using my cpu, I can keep my pc from pulling over 50 watts. When I game at full tilt, the wattage usage goes well over 600 watts. The cost of gaming is rising.
I wonder if ISPs are going to start trying to force their hardware on customers so that they can apply their bandwidth prioritizations on your home network, before your data actually gets on to their network?
The Kyler broke the Bret!! LOL (At the end)
I like that you said while you enjoy your breakfast. Makes this channel feel like home. Use more references like that
It's actually Brettfest he says 😂
@@NicolasChapadosGirard lmaoooo
For those 50 series sounds like we'll need separate enclosures, separate PSUs, and a different electric socket on a dedicated breaker to run it. Maybe I can run an extension cord to my dryer
I think the racing peripheral companies and cooling companies is actually their enthusiast consumers. You propably have a pretty beefy, most likely a custom, pc setup since you kind of have to be pretty tech literate to build a proper racing sim setup.
Funny enough never noticed the sign was backwards. Now I can't unsee it. 😂
The awkward ending made my morning 😂
cant wait for the new 5090 power cable solution that they got the intern working on
Yea but does that FCC decision affect your phone plan where they throttle you down to 480p video streams?
Brett‘s face at the end of that video is priceless. The confusion he has on his face 😂
Solid ending.
LOVE the reversed HN logo in the outro. top-notch bit
So, a Ryzen Strix Halo is around a 4070 @ ~70W-130W watts.
A GPU with its own Power-supply might be in our future.
3DFX had the unreleased Voodoo 5 6000 graphics card use an external power box that had to be plugged into the wall to properly power the card. Nvidia is just getting to the point of needing this as well :P.
It's just less than 200 watts more that current GPU use. What's the rumble about? 7900 xtx is using more then 400 watts and don't hear pople crying or never heard about it?
Can it maintain this performance without throttling and not forgetting power efficiency, which is critical in mobile devices
So…. Are we gonna expect a dual 12VHPWR connector for the 6090 already?
What about the who's in whoville and Horton Hears a Who?
I'm a very enthusiastic pc gamer...I'm retired and I play 8 hours or more most days...I will NOT be going with any GPU that requires 600w. I'm satisfied currently with a water cooled 3090 that I paid $2100 for at release....I do plan on doing a complete system build sometime within the next year and I plan to target at least 150% the performance of my current system. However, I'm not going to spend more than $2000 for the entire system. I may switch from Intel/Nvidia to AMD to make it possible...but that's what they get for the prices and power they are trying to push.
I agree the electric cost p/hr alone is a killer. What ever happened to everyone going green
Not a real gamer then
good luck, I think the only card on the market to get over 150% of the 3090 is the 4090, the XTX and 4080 super are roughly 130% better than the 3090 on most games. I love your enthusiasm though, you should just build to enjoy it, I'm happy with the current gen, but I went from an r3 3300x and a gtx 1070 to an r7 5700x and RX 7900xt, but I kinda get the general vibe from youtube and reddit that people with high end last gen systems are kinda disappointed unless they emptied their wallets for a 4090
150? Less than 2k? Wait longer. 2026-27
😮
can you cover electroneum?
Please keep the 336mm length in MSI Suprim release
You looked so uncomfortable at the end! "What is today but yesterday's tomorrow!"
With these GPUs getting bigger, watt hungrier, more expensive, etc and APUs becoming more Viable do you think GPU lines are going to be slimmed down? I like having a GPU and I'm starting to transition into lower end GPU higher end CPU as I'm a 24" 1080p gamer. Not many larger resolution monitors have what I'm looking for. Great example KVM switch great for work! and a 240hz Refresh rate.
I just started to get into PC building to upgrade my old 1050ti pc, and am extremely confused. with all these these companies self destroying, I have got no idea what to buy
That... Yeah. It's true.
it would make sens to have blues on the inside and pinks on the outside imo, might even look more estethically pleasing
The clapping was not sarcastic enough for me😂 too fast.
Also, today is truely yesterday tomorrow.😂
OMG your face when Kyler? dropped that wisdom bomb priceless
does it come with a nuclear power reactor to ?
Wasn't the 4090 tested with a 600w cooler? Pretty sure it was. Seems like a non story...
Massive life thoughts at the end 😂
ROFL Kyler dropping BOMBS 🤯
That ending had me laugh so hard for no reason.
Straight off the bat. I'm not paying for that wreak of a videocard!
I finally understand your shirt... after all this time. It's the starters in red, blue and yellow. Took me long enough
I'm from Australia, but ISP QoS is stupid, that's why we have our routers so WE manage QoS locally!
You do realize that that the QoS needs to recognized on the l3 hops right? You can set whatever you want, if the gateway or any routing engine in the path ignores it, then it does nothing on that hop and in a lot of cases it strips it from the new packet when it forwards it on to the next hop.
What keyboard is he using?
GPUs are now a standalone PCs , only needs a plug to the grid
It's insane how much wattage goes to the GPU alone
how cool to have the NEXT HUAWEI processor called GINA 100 !!
Do you think they fixed the buring connecter issue?
Buying this card on release could fk you over hard if you're not careful.
12:40
I was going to mention the same thing when I saw the end of the video and was a bit confused 😂😂😂
Here is the thing Brett, if you change it, then it will look weird Hahaha. can't win them all 🤷♀🤣🤣🤣
Geekbench should definitely separate npu from general purpose cores when scoring.
Sheesh! My next GPU cabling job is gonna look like how my dad wired up the christmas lights. 2x 16 pin power connectors? split into how many 8 pin PCIE connectors?
If you have cash for 5090 you probably have it enough to buy good psu with 2 12vp lines so what's the problem?
Crap... 600 watts? Get ready for some more melted power connectors. I don't see them going back to the old standard, but hopefully they're at least going to use Micro-Fit+ which is what Corsair is using on their newer power supplies and is rated to carry more power than Micro-Fit. What we'll probably get... two of the garbage 12VHPWR connections, throwing their whole point of going 12VHPRW out the window.
Its 10:45 am on Friday and amazon has already put the 7800x3d back up to $368 lol
Indeed, I was about to go buy one lol
I get the neon signs in the back now. Hot News is not news...#hotnews #notnews
Cooling + Racing Sim, hmmm all they need is a Battery manufacturer then they'll be announcing they're a Car Company.
I saw bluescreen in your eyes after the last question xD
Is this also why that Snapdragon X Elite chip is advertised as being ultra powerful as well?
My IGPU uses 15 watts ! Wonder how much 5090 will cost to run a year ? £596 if on for 8 hours a day !
What happened to low power draw
The OLED thing is great news for anyone who's been waiting to adopt. Once it becomes standard tech, the prices come down.
Companies like OLED because it makes monitors like cartridges for printers. I don't want to change monitor every 3 years.
Present?
All the big brands developing sim hardware is a bit surprising. I'd assume that hardcore sim enthusiasts are a niche within the niche of the PC enthusiast market.
However, if PC hardware conglomerates are attempting to diversify their product portfolios, I can only speculate that sim peripherals may be attractive offerings because they're likely low sale volume, but high profit margin.
Maybe go back to 3 8 pins would be smarter
What's the point of having the "fastest CPU on the planet" if it's going to be in a toy?...
Aren't the fastest car on the planet a toy, billionaires like their toys.
These graphics cards are going backwards in time in terms of power consumption. What year is it? 2016 at an oc convention.
I think it's worth noting that desktop PC power requirements are quickly hitting what a normal AC wall outlet (110v X 15amps = 1650watts ) can safely provide. It's crazy to even consider this... space heaters max out around 1500watts due to this. A 1500watt PS wouldn't be out of line for a system with a 500+watt GPU. Crazy times....
Yeah this is my concern too. And a lot of houses, especially older ones, are wired so rooms share those circuits. Imagine needing to turn the lights off in order to use the computer.

What's crazy is that Nvidia has good efficiency as shown with 4070 etc but decides to turn everything to 11 on the next gen anyways.
I'll wait until the next gen GPU, i.e. after post-RTX. By then real-time path tracing would actually be a thing
Pokemon shirt love ! ❤️
Not moving back to nvidia until they change the connector
plot twist, they'll use 3 12vhpwr connectors... which are the same size as the old 8pin ones... just to be obnoxious and dont go back to the old connector

My favorite thumbnail of yours
1600W power supplies will be the norm for sure.
They should have just made a single 16 pin connector and make that one rated for 600 watts. That would have been better than these melting connectors.
Wasn't GDDR7 supposed to be more efficient? Seems like it's proportionally drawing more energy as well. They could've done the same with GDDR6. Which makes me think they are mislablling this generation same way Intel has done with "14th gen". Basically we are getting 4090ti.
You might as well use a open air case for the 5090.…
Yeap
I better invest in renewable energy if gaming PCs want to rate into quadruple digits of consumption.
