This mission always reminds me of my best friend at the time, Christian, when we were both 9 playing halo 3 ODST at his house when it came out and him being the huge halo nerd telling me how that was the same ship from halo 2 and how you can actually see the Amber Clad, then proceeded to boot up halo 2 in his dads room on the original xbox to show me the exact cutscene. absolutely blew my mind. man those were the days, i really miss that dude ever since he moved away in middle school
the story , the lore, the universe of halo, is what makes fans come back wanting for more, and i really hope for all future games they capture that as they did with halo 2

@@Da60FOVDemon Focusing on gameplay for a game is almost never a bad idea, that much is true. But I don't play Halo ONLY for its gameplay. It's diverse lore and characters are what draw me in. Halo 2's campaign and seeing the cutscenes between gameplay as a reward for beating difficult levels was what got me into Halo in its entirety in the first place. Everyone enjoys Halo in their own unique way, games or otherwise. Sorry I don't speak for ALL the Halo fans, but neither do you.

If you mean in the setting, you're partially right. Halo 3 ODST is only in this area from Halo 2, New Mombasa. if you're talking about the time, you aren't right. The game is set a few weeks before Halo 3, and this was the 5th level of Halo 2.

Don't get me wrong H2A is amazing. I just wished they maybe kept the continuity of ODST in this scene. Have a cool opportunity to show the pods and enhance the scene.
couple of reasons, reason 1 is that the missions were unlinked and random, first mission u investigate a satellite, second u defend some base, third u go recon, forth u counterattack, fifth u blow some ship up, and so on and so forth. reason 2 is that the story is a bit plain, u just deliver cortana, ur meant to be a spartan not a courier, and 3rd reason is ODST is character driven, with mystery and discovery, while reach is driven by events not under your control. thou its short its better.
very smart of the covenant to destroy the space elevator :) they are trying to do what they didn't do in planet harvest....oh by the way...the should make a game about harvest :O! It was the first planet destroyed from covenant.

Was it during the battle of installation 05, or was it immediately after Regret's assault on new Mombasa? And who were those Brutes serving under? Was it the Prophet of Truth? and If so, why did he order their execution BEFORE Thel 'Vadam became the Arbiter?

I remember reading somewhere that the elites were first dropped during halo 2 when Cheif was in new Mombasa and when the covenant hit slipspace and left the prophet ordered a brute cruiser to go to earth and ordered the brutes to kill the elites that were left in the city and take control of the whole city.
Blame bungie for that one the great schism wasn't meant to happen until regret dies unless truth sent his own brutes to eliminate all of regrets survivors on earth cause where regret landed when he came to earth was exactly where the the forerunner ship needed to land for them to get to the ark
@FilipinoBoYz420 oh well the clouds in halo 2 are just colored red/orange making it look like its sunny but its just the color of the clouds its still overcast, it may just be that the clouds appear to look darker from the top, so thats probably why its looks overcast in odst but not 2
@carby212 Get your facts straight, Dare's squad was attacted with a whole Unit of ODST's, About 50 ODST's were ordered to board the ship, Only 6 made it to the ship before the slipspace, and 17 were killed by the explosion.
Have you even played Halo 2? Master Chief drops with a squad of ODSTs via Drop Pod onto the surface of Delta Halo. You see some of their corpses on Cairo Station in the airlocks.
Fun fact if you squint really hard on the right hand side of the covenant carrier in the ODST screen, you can see the In Amber Clad zip by with it. It’s a little black dot and it’s hard to see. It’s at around 0:56

So yea, my brothers friend told me, it was going to all be in it but was cut in the final release.

It is actually just this cutscene and no odst additions. It's just in the new graphics but the same direction of the cutscene!
