Reconstitution-only videos would be handy. People generally go crazy freeze drying and then don't know the best way to rehydrate, or try to rehydrate it one way when it should have been rehydrated another way and they decide they don't like freeze dried things.
Please add notches in your dividers to enable creating thirds on the trays. Or make a set to divide into thirds and sixths. That would be really helpful.
I am excited about your plans, especially shorter format as we all are busy and have so little time. It helps cut out all the fluff that wastes all of our time. I am speaking about youtube across the board. I know that you will provide genuine content even in the shorter format which is what will keep us coming back. These days we only have time for the meat :-) I have learned a lot from you which I appreciate.
I LOVE your channel and have followed you for some time now. I have learned sooo much from you and your channels. I would really love to see more of the process for freeze drying more foods from their natural raw state.... how to prep them (example.. raw or blanching... even the best way to clean them like peel or skin them etc...). We are trying to get as much healthy natural foods freeze dried that can contain the most amount of nutrition without all the additives that freeze drying already processed and canned stuff has. I know that you do a lot that way but we really would love to see more in that line. Happy New Year. I hope you have a really amazing 2025. I am really excited to see what you share with us this year.
I have been on a similar journey these last few years. I will do plenty of healthy foods recipes this year and some others as well. I really try to be inclusive of all dietary types.
No. I thank you. I have been canning since 1982. But freeze drying has been a wonderful change. It saves me so much room as well as expensive canning jars. Don't get me wrong I am still canning but freeze drying has brought me to a new level. So again thank you. I have the x large freeze dryer.
Congrats on the growth of you tube. I appreciate the content here as I’m not on any other socials. That said. I like the idea of more shorts, especially basics. Please do some on cheeses drying and usage. Happy New Year!! 🎉🎉 May the Lord bless your home.
Happy New Year.🎉 I have only been fd for 1 year and you were one of the early channels I found. I just recently joined the fb group, and people there are so helpful! Interesting things ahead for the channel. Yay - small lids!!
Thanks for all you do! I hope your new products include items made for the Stay Fresh freeze dryers. They are very well made but they need some of the items you’ve created for the Harvest Right FDs.
The stay fresh freeze dryer trays do not have a rolled lip like the HR which make attaching things difficult. We do offer some products for the stay fresh, but at this time, lids and lockable stackers are not possible with their design. Thanks for your support from Texas!
I would love to see more meals, and definitely more low carb ideas for recipes. I have celiac so I make a lot of meals to eat any time I travel since finding food on the go without gluten/ wheat in it can be very tricky.
Happy New Year! Thanks for all your great content. QUESTION: Will your long version videos from the past still be available for viewing? For newer freeze dryers, they have been extremely helpful. Hope they’ll still be available.
They are appearing in lots of big box stores this year! The more that are out there, the less expensive they become and the more knowledge and creativity will happen. Exciting!
I've been confused about messages I've heard that we can't freeze dry fat, but there are fatty foods that are commonly freeze dried, such as yogurt, coconut milk, and the like. Can you cover this inconsistency in a video, please?
In my experience, I prefer not to do foods that are high fat. If I do, it is a product that I rotate every 2-3 years, so I can keep an eye on it. Rancid food is not something to take lightly. This is, of course, just my opinion and preference and their are others out there that will tell you to leave the fat and it will be just fine. Not something I want to risk wasting the time, effort or my health on.
If I were setting out to buy a new freeze dryer tomorrow what brand would it be? Harvest Right, Stay Fresh, Blue Alpine. Primarily for garden preservation and meal prep.
I would like to know how many harvest right freeze dryers have you gone through since 2017 when you started this? How long has been the longest one has lasted you?
I have never run one until it died. I buy a new one once the tech changes or I want a different size to use. I have owned all sizes for the residential s-xl and a couple models previous to the pro models coming out.
@ mine lasted one year before it broke down and they want me to ship it to them to be fixed. I feel like this is something too common for this company listening to other comments. Just wondered how long yours lasted.
I’ve been running my FD for a month and my power bill increased by 100? Dollars?? …wow I thought max it would 2.50 a load…..disappointed in that regard.
Has anyone tried zero sugar coffee creamer? Im diabetic and when i travel i have to buy at grocery and i end up using 2-3 times and then have to thow it away because i cant bring it home. Powder would be great.
I tried contacting Harvest Right first but no response. Is anyone selling the original size metal trays for the machines? I need another four trays for my medium machine.
i am having a very large buildup of frost at the front of my freeze dryer. is there a way to diagnosis this problem in steps I have seen a lot say that this might be a problem with the seal some say it could be a freon problem What are your thoughts on this problem
Hi Kathy, I am by no means a tech but if you are in our Facebook group, you can reach the Harvestright Help Squad directly. facebook.com/groups/thefreezedryingcommunity
I can't think of a better way to hide from your viewers than to keep changing your channel name. You're right, there are plenty of FD channels out there. Some not so good. some excellent. It isn't hard to determine who are newbie's who act like they know a lot, but know nothing. I've been FDing since 2011. I'm no UA-camr. I'm just looking for even more ideas. It's hard to find someone who has been doing this for a decade so no one seems to know how long what they are freeze drying lasts. Too bad. So I'm ready to open the 13 year old stuff I've done and find out for myself.
Not trying to hide from viewers, just trying to make a channel name that defines what we are. Until now, that was not the case. The name is the same across all social media and groups. This makes it simple for people to search for us and immediately see what the channel or group is. I'm not sure that it's difficult to find results of freeze dried food older than 13 years. Freeze drying has been around since the 60's and the military has been using it for almost as long.
Reconstitution-only videos would be handy. People generally go crazy freeze drying and then don't know the best way to rehydrate, or try to rehydrate it one way when it should have been rehydrated another way and they decide they don't like freeze dried things.
Any low carb/diabetic friendly content would be greatly appreciated in my household. Thanks for all you do! Happy New Year!
Yes, yes!
Thank you, Brian, for all you do and have done for the freeze drying community. You are appreciated!
It's my pleasure. I enjoy what I do and the community is great!
Please add notches in your dividers to enable creating thirds on the trays. Or make a set to divide into thirds and sixths. That would be really helpful.
This is something we will consider, thanks!

Glad to hear you see and experience what freeze drying can do. Happy freeze drying in 2025!
Everyday meals and MRE’s are on my mind. I have a ton of ingredients that I open and reseal. Would be nice to open once.

Thanks so much and Happy Freeze Drying in the New Year!
Thank you for all you and your family do! I truly appreciate it.
You're very welcome! Thanks for being a part of our community
Love your content for many years. I like long videos that are detailed so it will be disappointing to see less of those. Happy New Year 🎉
Love your channel. Looking forward to what comes in 2025.
Still waiting for a freeze dryer. Hope to get one soon and I'm hoping for the new larger one. Keep up with the book updates.
This new plan sounds great. My attention span is short…LOL…so quick and to the point is wonderful!
I hear you! Thanks for your support
Happy New Year.🎉

We purchased the x large, but thinking we need to change to 2 new 4 tray small FD. Since you run multiples what it’s out thoughts?

Happy New Year! Thanks for all your great content. QUESTION: Will your long version videos from the past still be available for viewing? For newer freeze dryers, they have been extremely helpful. Hope they’ll still be available.
Absolutely! All videos since 2017 are available!
Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you too!
Thank you!!!!
Videos for troubleshooting and repairs ❤ ( loss of adequate vacuum) etc
This video should walk you through all possibilities ua-cam.com/video/di7JDZBTEZI/v-deo.html
Freeze dryer issues. I learned the air my FD pump is actually not safe.
If your doing a recipe, please share it in your content. Show and tell us whats going into it. 😊❤
I do love “Shorts”…..they’re just usually fun!
Was surprised to see Harvest Right freeze dryers for sale this fall at my local Rural King!
They are appearing in lots of big box stores this year! The more that are out there, the less expensive they become and the more knowledge and creativity will happen. Exciting!
Diabetic/low carb would be awesome!!

I go with the company that is most experienced for the least cost.
Have you done any videos on organizing the Mylar stash?
Yes! ua-cam.com/video/BdoWgyRuzYU/v-deo.html

@ so are you saying you have used, or are still using the same one you started with in 2017?
@TammyTalley-b3h I sold the 2017 in 2020 to purchase a newer model
@ mine lasted one year before it broke down and they want me to ship it to them to be fixed. I feel like this is something too common for this company listening to other comments. Just wondered how long yours lasted.
The biggest thing I would like to see is someone in each state be able to work on the machines. Not everyone can work on their machines.
HR is working on that I believe. I think their is a way to connect with a qualified person in your specific area
I would love to see FD wild game in 2025.
I’ve been running my FD for a month and my power bill increased by 100? Dollars?? …wow I thought max it would 2.50 a load…..disappointed in that regard.

Try etcy
Do the tray lids fit the older straight sided trays or just the newer rounded edged trays?
Hi there, there is not a way for the lids to snap onto the old straight sided models....bummer
Hi y'all. I'm the newest subscriber January 2nd 2025.

Well let us know how the FD food is holding up.

Only thing bad about the groups on FB . Is there’s a lot of mean disrespectful people on there , not all but a lot .
That's social media for ya. You should see the comments that UA-camrs receive 😂
@ hahaha very true . Sorry ❤️❤️
I really don't like teaser content😂
Hey I have an idea - how about don’t zoom in 1000% on your face 🤣 rofl
Seriously though I do like your content and I have purchased your book and joined your community 😊
Your Facebook group gets quite a bit of people being mean or belittling. This shouldn't be tolerated and allowed.
Everyday meals and MRE’s are on my mind. I have a ton of ingredients that I open and reseal. Would be nice to open once.
Sure. I am with you on that. It's nice to just open it up and have a meal ready quick
