The iron maiden are the Mozarths of Heavy Metal, they are of another category! Welcome to the world of iron maiden!
Mozart*
Don't make me Puke and heavy metal is just so so must are for the little teenie so they can think they re cool
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN It is funny to hear a metal band compared to a great classical composer, but that said, I can only imagine the "mature" and musically more sophisticated music that someone calling themselves Denver Outdoor Man listens too. I'll be waiting with my puke bag ready smart guy ;)
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN so why you are here. To be cool or just on the prowl?
@@zzzz803 OBEY the signs "don't feed the trolls"
There were two guitarists in the band at the time of this video. Now they have added a third guitarist as well, plus bassist, singer and drummer. Number of Beast album came out in March of 1982 and Thriller in November of the same year.
Yeah I think one of them left so they got a replacement but when the guy came back they kept his replacement in the band so they ended up with 3 guitarists.
It's a great thing if you ask me. You can make some crazy harmonies with 3 guitars 😆🤘🏻
Vincent Price did the speaking parts on Thriller. Bruce Dickinson wanted Price to do the speaking parts on Number of the Beast, but Price said he wouldn't do it for less than 25, 000 pounds. So they found an English actor named Barry Clayton to do the voice. He sounds just like Price.
Always thought he sounded like Richard Burton. Price is American and all (speech mannerisms).
The reason is Iron Maiden was cancelled before there were cancel wars. They were pretty much banned from most radio across the world because of the mistaken thought they were satanic, when all their songs about evil are precautionary. Thanks for the great reaction and enjoy the dive down the Iron Maiden Rabbit hole. I would attempt the live version from 1981 of 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' or studio check out 'Run to the Hills' 'The Trooper' 'Flight of Icarus' 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' 'Stranger in a Strange Land' 'Wasted Years' 'Revellations' 'Powerslave' 'Aces High' 'Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg' 'The Longest Day' (using the Saving Private Ryan footage) 'Dance of Death' 'Can I play with Madness' 'Seventh Son of A Seventh Son' and more than I have even mentioned. One of the greatest rock bands of all time. 'Fear of the Dark' live at Rock in Rio in front of a crowd of 250,000 people singing the lyrics in a language most of them do not speak. Yeah, they are legendary. Thanks Chris
Well said, nuff said.
All of those songs and 'The Clairvoyant' and 'Empire Of The Clouds'.
Iron Maiden doesn't exist in a 'cancel' world. That's a stupid assumption on many levels. There's no such thing as 'cancel.' I'll listen to and support what I fucking want.🖕
Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark!
Seconded. A true classic!
Iron Maiden are the best Metal band.
Rime of the Ancient Mariner (live long beach 85) is something to you really should watch.
It’s long, but absolutely Amazing.
wish i could go back to those days. that concert was insane
40 years later they're still just as much fun in concert. Go see them live if you can.
Run To the Hills (live)
Check out the 1982 live version of "Hallowed Be Thy Name"...And live versions of "The Clansman" Rock In Rio 2001..and "Rime of the Ancient Mariner "..Flight 666..They don't dissapoint.
Run to the Hills! Best workout song ever.
Yes they British...been rocking since 1975.
The voice you hear in the beginning is not Vincent Price who you heard in Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video. Maiden asked him to do it, but he wanted a crazy amount of money, so they hired a British actor to do it for a much less amount
You should see the Iron Maiden documentary Flight 666. Iron Maiden fly all over the world in just a few weeks, great performances, GREAT footage, and Australia gets a good amount of attention. This song was on the first album they did with Bruce on vocals, and his name on the back was listed as "Bruce "Air Raid Siren" Dickinson."
They not only fly all over the world - Bruce Dickinson (the lead singer and one of the greatest front-men of all times) is their pilot!!! Bruce is like a modern day Leonardo Da Vinci. There are few things the man can't do - he is simply incredible.
More Iron Maiden please!🙏
You'll find some great music. These guys blow away Guns and Roses.
Great live band also🤘🤘
The voice is British actor Vincent Price (1911-1993). Number Of The Beast was released a year before Thriller. Price also did work on Alice Cooper's 1975 Welcome To My Nightmare album.
The Legend Vincent Price 🤘🤘
Price was born in St Louis Mo. This is an actor (brit) named Barry Clayton
This is NOT Vincent Price. It's Barry Clayton.
Vincent is American 🤭
Nice to see that head banging is still being done down under!! Keep on rocking
For a couple of years, I used to fall asleep to this album every single night when I was a child. Was one of the only cassettes I used to own. I'm sure there were no psychologically harmful side effects. Pretty sure.
Vincent Price was the actor speaking in the beginning of the song. He was a horror film actor in the 60s and 70s
you all crack me up! As an old man of 52 and a metal head, this song reminds me how old I am...lol. It was the music of my teen age years
200 million sold. 4/5 the Beatles sales. Hallowed be thy name (same album) fear of the dark, and many many more. And today they have 3 guitarists, still touring at my age (mid 60's) and STILL energetic. That lead singer? also flies their custom 747 =D
When the guitars line up with the drums it's called " riding in the pocket "
Hallowed Be Thy Name live from 1982 is probably their best performance and the best song to react to. It was before Bruce Dickinson had throat cancer and Steve Harris, the bass player who writes most of their lyrics, says that this is probably the song that best defines who they are as a band.
It seems to be a common misconception that the spoken intro was done by classic horror film actor, Vincent Price. Why this should be is unclear as the album sleeve notes clearly say it was actually done by a man named Barry Clayton.
Iron Maiden, founded in The East End, London; by bass player & dedicated West Ham supporter, Steve Harris, first came to prominence in the late 1970s, during the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM). "The Number of the Beast," from their 1982 album of the same name, was the second single release, following "Run to the Hills."
This lineup features: Bruce Dickinson (vocals); Dave Murray (guitars); Adrian Smith (guitars); Steve Harris (bass); Clive Burr (drums). Steve Harris is the main songwriter while Dave Murray & Adrian Smith alternate on lead guitars.
Love you guys & your reactions by the way!
Iron Maiden is resuming their Legacy of the Beast tour in 2022, with new material as well, you need to go see them live, their shows never disappoint. By the way the guy in the devil suit, is Iron Maidens current drummer, Nicko McBain, who is a devote Christian.
Great song, great band, great reaction👍Thank you👍Iron Maiden were formed on Christmas Day 1975 in east London🏴This song is from 1982. It was written by bassist and founder member Steve Harris after watching The Omen horror film. The narration at the start is not Vincent Price. They wanted to work with him but he demanded too much money. 6th hour of the 6th day of the 6th month...666.
Edit:
You might want to react to Hallowed Be Thy Name by Iron Maiden. I would recommend the live performance from The Beast Over Hammersmith 1982. Up the Irons!!!
2 lead guitars!...well...they got 3 now! :)
Run to the hills and fear of the dark are great iron maiden songs to check out
Iron maiden today is a 3 guitar band....and they all are soloists! Great stuff!!!
This is what I'm talkin bout Roos! Check out from the same album Hallowed Be Thy Name. If you really want to check out Maiden, just listen to this album, Piece of Mind and Powerslave! All 3 are Classic. You were correct about 2 guitarist, and now they have 3! 🎸🎸🎸
If you two are gonna start slipping music into your comedy reactions, I have a suggestion. I double dog dare ya to play a band named Jinjer from Ukraine. The song to start would be Perennial, live at Wacken! I will say no more! Really digging your channel Roos! Aloha 🤙
the name (iron maiden) if you didnt know comes from medieval england. the name comes from a torture device which was a thing that looks like a metal chamber in the shape of a human being. the door opens and someone is put inside and there are spikes all on the door. when they close the door the spikes go into the person being tortured. thinking about it i would imagine that you would die straight away.the band are also (english).
It super fun watching you guys react to this.. Ed always catches things and Kat is just feeling it and is usually very impressed with Ed's observations haha! Very relatable and fun team you have there
Yup, two lead guitarists here. Dave Murray first, then Mr Adrian Smith. Adrian left in the early 90s and was replaced with Jannick Gers. He's since rejoined and Jannick remains, giving them three lead players.
My new favourite channel. You both are awesome. Iron Maiden hail from England and Bruce was actually born in the same city as me. Great to see you guys rocking out to these metal legends!❤
Bruce Dickinson was known as the air raid siren the way he could hold a note
Saw Maiden twice in the 80's and their shows were absolutely fantastic. Guns and Roses and Poison opened for them and there was no doubt at all as to why Maiden was the Main act. I saw a lot of bands back in the day and for such a hard rocking band they had amazingly long shows, they still do.
I honestly don't know how they do it, the level of dedication and skill is almost inconceivable to me. If it weren't true I wouldn't believe that they could still be putting on power shows like this all these years later. They rocked harder, faster and longer than anyone else forty years ago and they are still putting everyone else to shame. (Maybe they are aliens or machines? Or maybe machines sent by aliens? LOL)
there are 2 guitar players and both do solos. maiden has some of the most beautiful and melodic solos i heard out there. they have an extense discography. check the solo from stranger in a strange land or caught somewhere in time, they're great. hope you keep well, greetings
Great reaction!!! Yes they are British. Check out Hallowed be thy Name, Fear of the Dark, Phantom of the Opera, Power Slave, The Trooper, Aces High, Run to the Hills and Rime of the Ancient Mariner. They are at there best live, especially in South America. The greatest metal band of all time in my opinion. Up the Irons!!
This melody is based on When The Saints Go Marching In, whether they realized it or not.
Iron Maiden have toured Australia several times.
Caught Somewhere In Time by them 🤘🤘🤘 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Don't know how people can listen to music with one earphone in
you have to watch fear the dark live in Rio!!!!!! best live performance ever.......
I learned to play bass in 1983 by memorizing this entire album, front to back .
🔥MAIDEN 🔥
I saw them live last summer. Dickenson can still sing his ass off. The band is still pretty tight, as well.
First time really? Man , this song is a classic. Thanks for sharing
🤘🏼UP the IRONS🤘🏼
Only way to listen to Maiden is live ! Greatest Live band greatest band overall . Up The Irons !
HEY! Never... NEVER EVER stop the solo
la mejor banda de la historia 🤘
If an 80s rock/metal band isn't American, they're most likely British. Heavy metal as we know it was pretty much born here in the UK.
You're doing Germany some serious disservice there bud. All of Scandinavia too.
Ed....your intro was CLASSIC!!! HAHAHAHA
If you like that then the you need to check out 'Rime of the ancient mariner' and 'Hallowed be thy name'. 2 of Maidens finest songs by far.
You guys will love listening to Linkin Park!! Please do a reaction to them
Ever heard of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, or Black Sabbath, or Judas Priest? Yeah, you can associate Britain with heavy metal pretty safely. 😁
Hi Roos ! Greetings from Yorkshire in the north of England. I'm loving the comedy reactions, so keep 'em coming. If you want some more "pump up" British heavy metal, you need look no further than "Ace of spades" by Motorhead - an absolute classic.
This video came out years before Thriller.
Check out anything from Rock n Rio Up The Irons
That’s Eddie fearless mascot
They are from London so yes english.
I would love to see more iron maiden maybe something from the final frontier album? Loved it, thank you!
This was before Thriller 😀
Is this real? You're just now hearing this world-famous song 40 years later? I'm kinda speechless...
If you enjoyed this I'm assuming you have a LIFETIME of shit to catch up on! ....wow...
Two lead guitars has never been uncommon. Not music fans, obviously. That explains a lot then.
BY THE WAY! Check yous out Iron Maiden's Live After Death album - if yous liked this. Yous are in for a Treat😉👍🤘🍻
funny how the album the number of the beast had all the news outlets up in arms stating iron maiden were satanists.you can see with both eyes open that the music video for this song that was on the album was a bit of a pisstake even on the album cover it had eddie being puppeted by the devil but an even bigger eddie puppeting the devil.many many awesome songs but where the wind blows just sticks in my head and gets overlooked alot.if your looking for a live song i would say dance of death(en vivo) thats the best band to audience participation and just breathes fire and energy!
Hallowed be thy name .......the trooper, ....flight of Icarus.........and there new released album.....writing on the wall
You must check out the Lego video to this song !!! EPIC!!!!
🤘
its not vincent price its barry clayton
PLEASE IRON MAIDEN EVER IN LIVE THE TROOPER,FEAR OF THE DARK,THE RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER ETC....🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸
some rock/metal bands would have twin lead guitars. they would swap lead riffs around & the other would drop into the rhythm section. Slayer were good for that. Megadeth too. But Lots of bands did the twin-lead thing. my bandwanted to go there but I wasn't good enough for lead. was shit hot at rhythm though ;)
Please please please react to some Dog Fashion Disco for me. I love y'alls reactions!! And I like that y'all cover so many genres. I would love you 2 to react to DFD because they are so different and blend so many genres extremely well. They have been described as System of a Down meets Mr. Bungle. They actually did a song featuring Serj from SOAD on a song called Mushroom Cult but I would love to see you guys react to either the War Party video (more poitical) or their Brand New video Grand Experiment which is a genre blending of old school surf "Beach Boys" style mixed with metal (more gleeful blasphemy in the lyrics). I am begging you...lol That is something I do not do but I believe once you dive into this band it will be a Rabbit hole that you 2 will thoroughly enjoy. Thanks for your time if you actually took the time to read all of that. PLEASE!! If I had the money I'd try the pay to play method but you 2 strike me as a good folks who genuinely love music and would enjoy something original and different. Sorry for the full essay and I know this isn't the correct method but I will continue to try in a respectful manner. I love you guys. Keep doing what you do so well. Sorry for doing it this way. But I have hope this works.
You guys should check out some Slipknot
Awesome reaction! Now you should check out Hallowed Be Thy Name from the same album.
they now have three..yes,... three lead guitatists!!!...you gotta give em more reactions..espesically their live stuff!!
Saw them on that tour. Pretty sure it was with Priest. That time in my life gets a little fuzzy so you'll have to forgive me if I'm wrong lol
That’s not Vincent Price. They couldn’t afford him and hired a Price imitator.
666 is called the "number of the beast" in the Book of Revelation of the New Testament
All London lads
Yep, British. Try a few more you might like it 😉
I've seen Maiden several times and you will never hear Bruce say 666 again. He says 6 and the audience yells 66. 666 the number of the beast comes from the Bible in Revelations. While making this album weird thing happened and it spooked the band quite a bit. From the same album you should check out 22 Acacia Avenue.
Another good maiden song would be hallowed be thy name from the flight 666 dvd. They are a lot older and sound amazing.
They now have 3 lead guitars. Where have you been hiding?
I about screamed at you ….Who the fuck is Frankie?
That’s Eddie!!!!
Aren’t you getting one channel of stereo sharing a pair of earpods?
Now react to same song LIVE ..
If you want to react to something cool, I recommend the artist Aesthetic Perfection with their song Gods & Gold.
way late too comment but do a reaction to Motorhead "Bomber"
When this came out early 80s late 70s parent thought this was satanic it wasn’t
"I think they are English" Where are you from? One of the biggest metal band on earth..
some bands you might like, lovebites, a japanese all girl metal band are better musically then iron maiden and i've been a maiden fan from the start. nightwish is a brilliant band also, with floor jansen as lead singer
Can you react to ishowspeed rages
666 represents sin. Missing the mark, or bullseye. Also being incomplete. Where as the number 7 represents holy completion. The beast is the evil power that stands in the way or the one whom captures you holding you back from 7. 7 comes from the book of Genesis. God completes all his creation and rests on the 7th day.
A lot of metal bands reference bible verses such as this one. This is from the book of Revelation. The last book of the bible.
You can't listen to maiden on one headphone.
So we’ve learned. Haha. Thanks for watching. We’ll be more prepared in future :)
Minor league band Neil Young smokes them effortlessly
C'mon man! You have the slight lisp of British speech and you're telling me you never heard "Number of the Beast" before this day you recorded and uploaded it? Every Brit in the U.K. heard this, yeah? So why are you under a rock?
Well you obviously don't know what lead guitar is
This is the first time I've knowingly listened to Iron Maiden. 80s metal like this is so corny, I can't stand this "I'm off to slay the dragon" sound.
