I put a small recurring subscription service (Hulu) on my oldest credit card and then put it on autopay so it is all on autopilot.

That's a really good idea since its such a small amount!

@@PersonalFinancewithLeila It keeps the card active so that it won't get cancelled and so I will maintain my longest credit card to help my credit score. I do the same with my husband's and another small recurring expense (Spotify).

LOVE your spreadsheets! You should make a copy of that and offer it as a freebie for your email list! (OR do you already do this and I just missed it!??)

Thank you! I haven't set up any freebies yet on my blog but should definitely do that. 😊

I love credit cards too. I think I have at least 12 these days. The sign-up bonuses are easy and free money, and using a credit card regularly gives me points.

For me as an European, even thinking of that number of credit cards, give stress.
Seems you guys in US are really used to these complications! But don’t understand the necessity!

I know that most people will end up paying interest on the card, but when you know how to credit hack properly it's pretty fun 😊

@@nina_h9410 I have so many only because of the sign up bonuses and benefits they provide me. I don’t owe any money on them that I can’t pay back easily every month! I think it’s a great way for free money and points for “free” flights (pre-COVID).

@@nina_h9410 Agree. From UK and whilst credit cards are common in no way would I want that many. I rarely use mine. Different outlook in US.

Hi! This video was VERY helpful! I do a lot of what you mentioned in this video. I subscribed! Someone told me I am too intense with my budget, I use 20 accounts and I am learning to track and manage all of them. - Tasha

I'm glad it was helpful. I steer clear of discussing finances with people who think my budget is extreme/intense 😂 That probably means they don't budget at all Lol
Are all 20 of your accounts with different banks/lenders?

@@PersonalFinancewithLeila i think you're right!! Yes I have 4 different banks, Ally, Marcus by Goldman Sachs, an HYSA with HSBC and Capital One 360. Most of the accounts are with Capital One. Two credit cards with Capital One. - Tasha

I manage my finances in a similar way. I only have two credit cards because I don’t want to go into credit card debt. Honestly I would consider closing some of the cards that you are not using. I closed my oldest card when I only had my other card open for about a year. At this time I had no plans to need a credit score I was in a stable relationship and he had already bought a house, so I was fine with having a lower credit score, well fast forward a year my relationship ended, but my credit score had recovered from closing that card because I had good payment history. About a year and a half after closing my oldest card and only having 2 and 1/2 years of credit history I was approved for a mortgage with no problem. I have very little other debt. My only debt at the time of buying my house was my student loans and my credit cards that I pay off every month. I had a store card I closed this year and saw no effect on my credit score. Unless you plan on needing to have a credit score in the next 6 months you don’t really need a credit score.

  • @schmetterling4477

The only financial success recipe is that income needs to exceed expenses. Since there is a minimum level of expenses below which life becomes really tough, the only financial priority is to make an income that comfortably exceeds that level, so that one can save for a rainy day. Actually, anybody would do best to save for, at least, five rainy years.
